The cathedral and any other place of public worship or prayer is now privately owned and is publicly funded alongside British heritage is purely used as a business, when the roof springs a leak they come begging for help from the public, as well as charging an entrance fee of anything between £16 - £20 to enter a place of worship or prayer. Imagine taking a family to see inside, get a loan first.

The policy does acknowledge "CAA regulations do not limit flying over the Close" then notes liability concerns to deter drone use (data protection, historic building, school, wildlife). They do give contact details for permission to operate within the Close. Unfortunately didn't see a map on their site to clarify the extent of the Close and public.

The simple solution is for photographers to get their own sign. Any trouble just point to the sign - photography is permitted here.
