I am Marissa Pope and I am the owner of Marissa Pope Interior Design. The thing that we do is try to create spaces for families and anyone really to live in and to create spaces that are productive and relaxing and everything that you need to feel comfortable in a home home is very important to have the spaces that you need to feel relaxed and to feel productive at the same time so that's kind of what i try to do so interior design basically melts together the art aspect and the psychological aspect of living and basically human processes so you're creating these spaces that are beautiful and livable in the fact that they are very congruent to the way that you do your daily processes or grow throughout your life you want to have spaces that your whole family can grow in that you can grow in and other people can feel comfortable this project was a very massive undertaking because we had to first of all come up with the overall vision and have it melt into something that is workable and livable and you know up to date because we do like the traditional and classical style and we're very influenced by french architecture french design and we took all those elements and then basically dressed it up with some of the newer stuff so it feels comfortable we wanted it to feel as if we found this old building and just revamped it and made it new again we wanted to feel like as you're walking through we kept some of the old elements and then put some new things in kind of if you were redoing or remodeling an old chateau or something like that [Music] so what we did was we used a lot of natural materials you know like marbles and wood and stones that had the sheens and everything of an old kind of ancient looking material when we have the old and the new together which is something that a lot of people are liking to mix now they're liking to mix the old and the new but it's difficult to do it because you don't want it to feel like you just have a bunch of old things in this new house so the way to like mold it together is to have you know the colors go together the patterns go together the textures play off of each other and you know just using those basic principles you can you can tie everything together so well and you can have this traditional feel but it can still feel clean and simple at the same time my bedroom it's that soft pink it's malted milk and it has some of the vibes from like the 20s and 30s some of that french art deco so it's got the organic feel with also the striking black and you know darker wood the world woods the beginning part of the our process is that we do like a discovery meeting where we're trying to figure out what your dreams are what you're looking for your budget you know the whole scope of the project and then moving from there we would put something together and kind of show it to you and kind of redline from there and then we just build on the dream.
My favorite part about working with clients is figuring out new ways to do things people want certain art in their home they want it to feel like art they want to you know but they also want it livable so it's just that's kind of like the fun challenge i guess is trying to get what they want have it look the way they want and feel the way they want and that's just a really fun thing to do as a designer [Music] so i actually really feel that it's important to help someone discover what they actually want and what they are dreaming of and what their vision is for their home so that they can feel comfortable in that home and feel like they've achieved something by creating this space that people can come and be a part of their lives and share their lives with other people and the best part of that is seeing that joy come from these spaces that have been created.
That's probably the most special thing about creating anything is seeing the satisfaction and joy that comes from just your surroundings.
So our dream is to help you fulfill your dreams in building a home that is a piece of art that is livable in a space that inspires and brings people together.

Even though it’s an absolutely massive house, you did a flawless job with scaling the rooms and furnishings appropriately. The spaces are human-sized, and the palette is soft and comfortable without feeling bland or uninteresting. The materials are honest and unpretentious, and the French influence is executed well without trying too hard. Well done!

Most of these new developments are built on sold and parceled farmland so there’s not a lot of mature trees. This is common in this part of Utah.

@@JaredMedley when you spend 10 million or more on a home you can pay to have some somewhat mature trees planted too.

This exudes the excessive life of the wealthy. When we one day review our lives we will see the lack of wisdom in our selfishness. No one needs a home this large! I appreciate the beautiful design but can’t get over the utter massiveness and unnecessary sq footage of this home. Can’t imagine the taxes on this place🤔
