Honor Magic 5 Pro Malaysia review: Honor’s best still lacks a little magic

Honor has finally launched their Magic 5 series in Malaysia, spearheaded by the Magic 5 Pro. On paper, it packs quite a punch with a huge 6.81-inch quad curved AMOLED display, the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, along with what DxOMark has claimed to be the best camera system on a smartphone. All of that can be yours for just RM4,299, lower than its Android flagship rivals such as the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
But having used it for awhile now, is the Magic 5 Pro able to live up to the hype?

I'm waiting when pre-order starts in UK, 19 of April. I really like this phone it's the only one alternative to iPhone and Samsung in UK with 512G memory, decent battery life, amazing screen without pulse-width modulation like Samsung, decent camera . SOft is the only thing that IDK what to expect , because last 7 years I was using OnePlus phones (3T and 7Pro) and for a half year I switch to Samsung (Note 9)with Samsung Experiance then OneUI that pissed me off absolutely and I sell it asap. I hope Magic UI is more similar with BBK soft then Samsung. Thank you for review!

Hello, does it have eye tracking for AOD(if you look at your screen the display will turn on)? Do they have that nice AOD as its with Huawei?
Also, what about camera compared to S23 Ultra, is it inferior?

Yes, it does support reverse wireless charging. Finding the sweet spot to charge can be a challenge.

Own both. S23 plus feels laggy. And slow to charge. Touch response rate is not great when in game.
