- The western lowland gorilla baby boy was born Dec 5 2015 at the Fort Worth zoo. His parents are named Gracie and Elmo and he is their first child. I am very indifferent with my opinion on zoos and animals being born into captivity but this was none the less one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

and of course I live in Texas and so glad we have the Fort Worth Zoo. I am still 3 or 4 hours away. But I am so glad its here.
Gorilla babies are born more beautiful than human babies. A pure species.

he should be about a year old now. I bet he is a little darling they all are to me. LOL.
I want to go to the Fort Worth Zoo.
I did notice the poor little thing looked like he ha taken a few licks to the top of his head. good thing they are suppose to be tough ! he has some bald patches too. I guess I watch these videos over and over too much sometimes apparently. and that was 7 months ago so hopefully he is still in this game called life....lol.
In the video you can see the mom has a nervous habit of plucking the baby’s hair. She probably plucks at herself too. It’s harmless but it’s a symptom of captivity.
