@@TotalWarFlames agree, and it isnt even as good as the old 17, and now balblair is going to do the same thing. While its good its not worth the price tag.
I began my single malts in 1973, Glen fiddich and levit. But I never have tasted ripe summer fruit, vanilla, green apples, abalone or fresh macarroni. Scotch drinkers are worse than wine inbibers. Oban is my favorite.
I think I had too many drinks now the video looks blurry. Oh no it was just loading :).... to be honest I'm just here to hear Horst's swishing the whisky in his mouth, which is most pronounced when he does the videos by himself.
If you hate the 12, then old pulteney distillery probably isnt for you. What is it that you don't like about it? If it's the salty, lime, coastal notes that you don't like then no, it doesn't get better.
@@TotalWarFlames It's been a while since I've last had it so I don't have specific notes to give you (10am where I'm at right now). I will pour some tonight and give you specifics if you're interested. I find it particularly unappealing and I know there are a lot of OP lovers out there so I really do want to give it a chance. It just keeps failing with me. And I use the word hate in that I see it and I don't want it. It's not particularly offensive, I can drink Laphroaig. I just find no enjoyment in the glass. Old Forrester Bourbon, brussel sprouts, both fall in this category. Sometimes age (and wood lol) bring different characteristics to the whiskey and I was hoping that might be the case here.
thank you number guy, you saved me some money.. I was gonna do OP12 next, but what I hate is hearing people saying they hate a bottle I was interested in, then again.. in a way I love it cause now I know not to buy it. I probably wouldn't hate it, but if a fellow scotch drinker doesnt like a bottle, though many others do, I just lose my interest and inspiration in that bottle. I'd probably have just found it drinkable at best anyway
Why am I so god-damn addicted to your channel. I've spent $500 on single malts in the last 2 weeks... christ help me.
ya no kidding, I have went through 750 this week lol.
Damn Max, I've spent that much in last few months. At this rate, these two are driving my retirement into my 80's!
You gents are not alone. 🥃 💰😊
I spent 611$ canadian dollars on 4 bottles on my whiskey collection..I buy 1 bottle once per month so far 3 whiskeys & 1 tequila
Loved how you both expressed appreciation for the whisky at 3:20
Loooooool
I'm "building" my Collection by watching your videos.
Love it when you and your son are doing these. Awesome..
Good to see Horst changed his mind on the political career
3:20 talk about being in sync
What would this review be without Master Horst..?!?!
Looks delicious!!!
“In Former Times...”. -L, H, L
Love 💕
3:20 They went "hmmm" in unison.
wow, crazy prices.... unfortunately this is way too expensive for me, thanks for reviewing it...
Yeah I know, the price does not match quality in my opinion. They up the age only 1 year from 17 to 18 and raise the price from 80 to 130, rediculous
@@TotalWarFlames indeed, I got lucky and managed to grab an old version of the 17 YO at 60, but now the price has gone to +100, not for me anymore!

I think we all knew Horst would be too honest to make it in politics.
This is dope
Yes uncle engineers like drams me too..software engineer

Hate the 12. Do they get better with age?

I don't know if it gets better with age but it definitely does get better as you go 'down the bottle'
31446963048... I feel exactly the same way about Highland Park, whether it's the 12 or the 18.

Horsts’ party was a failure and they threw him over the fence to Estonia. Lol
Short political career there, ay Horst? ;)
Old Pulteney 18...major bourbon bom just like anCnoc 18 and Craigellachie 17. Not alot of real scotch flavor.
