Great content - thanks for sharing!
This man is a retired financial advisor, and still made some financial mistakes. Give yourselves some grace folks. As he stated - watch your spending and course correct as needed!
    Great content.
Can't buy time people live well!

Recent subscriber here; really enjoying your video content. I like the flow of this video with the two pane banter between you two, interspersed with the text summary bullets. Clever idea! Keep up the good work. Sidebar request: I have already seen your video on the bucket strategy; was wondering if you might likewise tackle the so-called guardrails strategy in a future video...food for thought, anyway. Thanks!

It takes both as he corrected you that family / pro's first with a track record . Both are needed .

I have a friend who could retire but chooses to stay working in a stressful job, for the LOVE of money. He is a Christian and obese. There are NO obese people who are 70 yo. My friend is literally wasting his days chasing the dollar. Pay off your home as fast as possible. I did it at 50 and it feels like freedom. Live within your means. New cars are a scam and honestly the newest ones are horribly made. Learn to cook. I can cook healthier and better tasting food than many restaurants. You don't need cable TV. WALK every day. You're welcome.

I'm hopefully 30 to 35 years from retirement. Could probably afford it in 15 to 20 years, but I love my profession and hope I can keep that ball rolling favorably. I'm future oriented, though, and love this kind of think ahead content. Excellent video. Thanks for putting this out there.

I wouldn't say number 3 was a mistake. Some folks sleep better at night with 3 to 4 years of expenses, even with income coming in; dry powder is not a bad thing. Great video, I learned a lot.

Some of the most stable portfolios have 20-20% cash. It is tool, not a mistake.

It's called easiest way to control retirement expenses. I don't remember if I really that much about quicken in that video but perhaps we will do something like that.

Most of this is just good life advice. Not necessarily specific to retirement but worth considering in that phase also.
Summary: critical thinking skills are in short supply these days
    Thanks for sharing

I think you make a good point. It's just important to understand that decisions you make along the way can impact you in retirement.

My understanding is that Non-competes are pretty tightly adjudicated in favor of the separated person. You pretty much have to actively steal clients or trade secrets. Just engaging in the same kind of work with new clients doesn't form a violation.

You may be right... But once I signed the agreement I have to honor it. My error was in signing it

Non compete agreements are less enforceable for regular employees and subject to the applicable state law. Restrictive covenants in a sale transaction is more enforceable.
