actually the best cord gadget is replanting for his versatility cuz if u are a good cord you can tap the gadget and the super at the same time and kill the enemy
definitely up to personal preference and what the map is
fun fact for jessie: Jessies slow gadget will stay on the ground if youre behind a wall. Basically, even after jessies gadget animation, for a few seconds, if you are in Jessie's slow radius and behind a wall you will be slowed

if i had to choose one, i’d probably say leon, but crow could be a great option as well

im trying to get out of mythic and my randoms are so bad besides sandy whats a good carry brawler
i’d recommend max and melodie
surge, gene, leon, cordelius, angelo/piper/belle are all pretty good at solo hardcarry in mythic. i pretty much spammed surge for almost every mythic game because, just like your teammates, the enemies also dont know how to draft and they pick a lot of brawlers vulnerable to surge. a lot of the maps are favorable for him and the ones which aren't are good for leon. cordelius is just really good all around and gene has a pretty versatile kit. don't risk first picking surge, pick him if you're sure the enemies have all picked brawlers who get stomped by him. leon and cordelius are good first picks on quite a few maps and gene is good first pick pretty much everywhere. angelo is the best sniper option if you need one, i personally dont have him maxxed so i use belle and piper who are also pretty good. dont focus too much on playing brawlers like max or melodie because, even though they're insanely broken, they still require a team which knows how to use your speed boost (max) or lane against the proper brawlers (melodie) in order for them to be good. by extension support brawlers are completely out of the question too. i'd argue crow is also really good but don't spam him on every map because some of them are not favorable for him at all.
in conclusion prioritize self sustaining brawlers over supports because they give you the most value.

it’ll take some practice but you can do it! playing multi projectile brawlers can sometimes be easier than single projectile brawlers!
