Maybe it's the fact Luna had more screen time with Nyx than she did with Noctis, but I thought Luna and Nyx had better chemistry. Luna always seemed more like a big sister figure to Noctis than a wife-to-be (despite being relentlessly bludgeoned over the head with their star-crossed romance). Just my humble opinion. :|
Agree, as I was watching the movie it was obvious that she was attracted to Nyx in some way and he to her, defs a lot of chemistry and respect between the two. But yes still love LunaxNoct too! Both pairs are great
Vencislav Gunev obviously Luna and Nyx are only friends. That's how they're written. But as for her and Noctis, we actually aren't shown their romance. We're _told_ of their romance. The audience never really _sees_ anything of the sort up until that dream scene when Luna dies - and by then that just felt forced and piled on. I have no problem filling in the blanks at certain parts, but this game wanted the audience to do a lot of its narrative work for it. Sorry, but a scene from their childhood and an implied, decade-long pen pal correspondence aren't enough for me to automatically think "true love!"
The way Luna wants to protect Nyx with her life when general Glauca's swings his sword to Nyx, means everything. She only chose Noctis because of the prophecy and not by will.

Maybe it was friendship hardened during their struggle, or maybe it was a painful attraction and an untold feeling, but They did it. I know they understood each other heart in the end, and that's why Nyx accepted the pact: one night of omnipotence in trade for his life.. To save her future.

Allow me to present my personal headcanon - Lunafreya is in fact a pair of identical twins, and the reason for one of the Crystals disappearing. When the twins were born, (possibly premature?) their magic and connection to the Crystals / Astrals was too strong, so the Queen used her own powers to bind them into one "whole" person. This is why she can connect to the Astrals, why Shiva's human form is her attendant, and why she has two first names, Luna Freya. We see one twin in Kingsglaive, who fell in love with Nyx. Feeling his physical death through her magic, she was heartbroken and 'died,' relinquishing her part of the body and binding herself and Nyx's lifeforce to the Crystals together. The other Luna we see in FF15 is actually Freya, the second personality and Luna's twin. She's also the one in love with Noctis, and - because she no longer has her sister to balance / sustain her - is already dying from the connection to the Astrals. That, and idea that the last act of the Crystals / Astrals / magic in general is to grant the main characters rebirth in a new world as thanks, because otherwise it's too damned depressing.

"And losing everything," - after losing her mother to death, she 'lost' Ravus to Niflheim and had pretty much everything she knew taken away. (Plus, if you want to go farther, Freya knows she's "lost" Noctis to her sister, and will "lose" Luna to complete their destiny. Even worse, she knows because they're bound together, she's going to die / lose everything, and there's nothing she can do about it.) By the end of Kingsglaive, Nyx and Freya have fallen in love (duh), and she feels his death through the Crystals, which is what finally destroys her emotionally. The last scene we see, where she pauses and looks back? It isn't Freya. It's Luna. That silent goodbye isn't just to Nyx, but to her sister as well. Let's be honest, Luna and Nyx have more moments and scenes than Luna and Noctis (i don't saying i hate the shipp), but really, two scenes: a childood memory and they scenes in Altissia isn`t enough to me, i mean, it`s nothing comparete to the scenes in Kingslaive and the chemistry into Luna and Nyx.

To be fair, Luna choosing Noct wasn`t just because of the prophecy but also because Ardyn and Glauca/Drautos set it up so a peaceful resolution to the Niflheim-Lucian conflict was only possible if a Lucian prince and a Tenebrae princess were wed and she was always a diplomat at heart.
