wow, I have only played titan quest and grim dawn but these skill gems look very very interesting. Ty, man. This vid convinced me to get the game, I don’t care about how hard it is, looks really good and fun.
The sheer amount of channels farming POE2 at the moment is overwhelming (NEW, BEST, DON'T DO THIS, NEW PLAYER MISTAKES) when I'm just trying to find a decent beginners guide. This one really stood out and answered all my questions so I'm just going to use this channel as my go to resource and block out all the 'noise' from the rest.
Yeah unfortunately every time a new popular game comes out, there's a bunch of channels that have never played it, act like they know everything about it just for views.
There shouldnt be any guide yet, as the people who got their keys for review purposes, arent allowed to make guides. If they did make guides, they will be blacklisted by GGG and wont do anything anymore.
so many “beginners” guides for this game skip over some of the super basic mechanics, assuming that you know them already. this is the first one that really helped me feel more equipped as i begin my journey with this game. thanks so much!
This video is everything I wanted out of a beginner’s guide. Even as an ARPG veteran, having never played the first Path of Exile, there is a lot to come to terms with diving straight into the sequel. Not only did I feel like every moment of the video was useful for someone like me, but if I was new to the genre, I’d feel the exact same way. Keep up the fantastic work, and I’ll be looking forward to more PoE 2 content!!
Newcomers, dont fret, even veterans are still trying to figure stuff out and thats the beauty of this game... that one glorious moment when everything clicks.
This was really helpful. I just started and my monk is only level 6. The description of the skill and support gems made it make sense to me. Thank you so much!!!
This is for real, an amazing beginners guide. Also, things being said so plainly and in such a concise way, is v refreshing in terms of PoE being discussed lol. Thank you muchly my liege and happy blasting!
Group of 3. Killing the boss at the end of act 1. 2+ hours it took. Absolutely magnificent! In love with the game. This is what a real Diablo game must look and feel like! 💪
This was super helpful thank you. Seems like a badass game just wasnt aware what all i was missing making it difficult. Kept dying as the witch early game
I probably should’ve watched this before I got almost 8 hours into the game. I had no idea what I was getting into but I just kept going now. I’ll watch your video and see if I need to start over or not.!!!
I’m having a great time. First time POE player. It’s not as overwhelming as I was expecting it to be. I’m only in ACT I so maybe it will get harder but I welcome the challenge
Im going to be real. I think the difficulty is on point for merc. Its hard at times but for the most part thats ok. You feel yourself getting stronger as you go. You will occasionally hit a wall with a boss that may take 3 trys but its all about doging and learning mechanics
On couch coop you can pause the game as well. Also, I absolutely love how they implemented couch coop. I can play with my wife and we are essentially building up two characters at the same time. Also on ps5 she doesn’t need another account since she is using mine.
nice overview, just a small addition: when you pick one of those stat nodes (5 int, str or dex) you can change the stat by refunding from that hood guy, so you don't have to refund all the points back to that specific stat node (a real quality of life option)
I have to say one thing, and I reckon it may* not go over well. PoE 2 has made the segment EXCEPTIONALLY easy to break into, has such a beautiful pace, and drop chances that are much more in-line with their verbiage (i.e., rare loot drops RARELY), unlike some games (D4) that just throw rares upon rares upon uniques at you. Getting that piece of gear you want in PoE 2 is going to be hard, but my god the reward and dopamine hits make it worth it. If you are really struggling, then there are 2 reasons why this is happening: 1. You simply aren't taking the time to read, understand, and digest all the tools and resources you have available to you. Yes, there IS a lot, but nothing a little care and due diligence can't fix. If you are impatient, and used to games that are just BAM BAM BAM BAM with loads of rewards....stay away. 2. The game / genre simply isn't for you. These games (and PoE franchise in particular) do not believe in the silver platter treatment. if that is what you are expecting, move on. Yes, this game is challenging. It is tough. There is a LOT of information thrown at you - but it is up to you to decipher it all. Take a breath. Take a moment. Relax. Enjoy.
This guys face is so small compared to his head. That’s how you know he has all the POE 2 knowledge! Thanks for all this info, I feel my dome growing already ❤
Never played an ARPG, even had to google what it was...! All my friends are playing it and gave me a code. I was little overwhelmed at the start of the video but the more I watched, the more I understoond and the more it made sense. Thank you very much for the guide, I've subbed for future guides and content!
What I saw nobody mention yet is that you can simply identify items in town at the Hooded One for free... what makes me wonder if the Scrolls of Wisdom serve another purpose 🤔
had a question about "hit" keyword, it says any attack that is not a DOT is considered a "hit". but does this include minions hitting? the reason why im asking is for the "intense flame" passive node. if I take this and my flame wall or hell hound ignite's the enemy. will all my minions get a 35% increase in damage as well?
Just out of curiosity. How do you get that flask cosmetic to work? I have it equipped but there is no animation when I use the flask lol. Ty for the great info!
I am not sure if Reality Rending is bugged or it's just a tooltip issue. But after I got it it does not show anywhere on the character screen or skill specifics and doesn't move skill DPS at all
Does anyone seem to know what the ‘highways’ connecting nodes change colors? I ran into - what I’m assuming is an issue - where the ‘highway’ is either green or red and I cannot put a skill point at the next node. Even though I’ve seen a skill point on the node before not sure what is happening and no one has helped answer this one. Thanks.
Disinchant rare items and keep uniques if you arent sure how good they are for when you are someone else re rolls (can sell on the market later) can sell magic items if you already have a ton of the currency it is made into like me atm. Also some rares are highly desirable and if they roll 6 pre/affexes then keep untill you are sure of how good it is. Most people will be running everything rare with 6 affex but maybe one or two build definning uniques.
Yea I think I messed up I picked witch and started building it for elemental damage not realizing I should have went sorceress. Now I'm in act 2 and don't feel like starting a new character... I already have a Monk as well and switched. lol

Yes! Straigh to the point, good explanation, timestamps for each topic so you can rewatch.
It's so much information, as a new player, I feel completely overwhelmed.

Out of all the PoE2 begginer's guides I've watched this was definitely the most concise and easy to understand. Thank you sir. 🎉
Appreciate it! Glad it helped.
Agreed! Thank you Rory for taking the time (and a break from blasting) to make this vid 🫡

My game so far, Aggro enemies, walk backwards while attacking, pray you kill them before they reach you.

Absolutely fantastic! For a PoE noob like myself, this was invaluable and well worth the watch. Clean, clear, and concise. Thank you!

Dont apologize how long it is, i love long and comprehensive guides. liked and subscribed for how long the D was here. Big W

this really helped me understand a few things about the game. your class videos are great too.
Greatest beginners guide I found thus far. Really helpful, thanks!
thanks a bunch dry. you had my back in smite over 10 years ago and you got my back in poe. glad to see you're still in the youtube game.
Excellent summary video; debating about playing and this touches the main points quite well without diving too deep.
Thanks for this guide, as a complete newbie I realize I have been making plenty of mistakes and this video was super helpful!
Great vid
I played poe 1 for a bit. But it was hard to figure out builds when I was so far behind in the game.
Glad to start fresh with poe 2.

Honestly it feels like a modern Diablo 2 lol. The only big difference is the amount of extra mechanics and more complex bosses

I am level 16 mercenary and do basically no damage to act 1 endboss Count Geonor.
All of my skills are level 4 or 5. I find an uncut level 4 gem. Is it basically useless or can I somehow upgrade it in some way?
you could use it on other weapon skill
