Let’s also not forget that during the 2019 parade, there was a drumline float consisting of members from A&T, BCU, Hampton, PV, Miles, Tenn State, and AAMU
Great history compilation! Good to see the Rose parade invite an HBCU band every year since 2016. Congrats to all the bands and most recently to JSU. It takes a lot of hard work and fundraising to get to Pasadena. And that Norfolk State grandstand performance in 2023 was amazing!!! It’s rare to get that slot to perform about 10 minutes. NSU was asked and they rocked! Great display of our HBCU culture.

PV was the first to lead the Macy’s Parade in 2017. PV also opened the Rose Parade in 2009, with the robot Asimo. You could say that PV was the first to open the parade, The drumline performed at the beginning and then joined the band to open the parade.
HBCUs, say what you will, but our culture is UNMATCHED! #BlackExcellence. My colleagues have been talking non-stop about how beautiful the Settes were and how amazing the band and J5 performed. However, 2024 has been a remarkable year for the #SBOTS. Congratulations to Dr. Little, JSU, and Thee Fanbase for winning the 2024 Band and Brand of the Year! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I pray that they continue to #BlazeNewTrails. Following Dr. Little and the #SBOTS over these past few years has been an incredible journey. From game to game, watching them perform in the Vet to their mega performances with top entertainers, I know these young musicians have had the best collegiate experiences and unforgettable memories to share with their future children. I saw that Tyler, the Creator, spotted the band and fans and came over to take a picture. 🙏🏽 I hope everyone made it back to Mississippi safely. There’s a large fanbase up here in Callie so please think about bringing a classic to Callie. I know it will be EVERYTHING to witness the VET here in California.
Idk if they will ever bring an football Classic over there unless they have some big sponsors but Honda Battle Of The Bands Will Be Taking Place At So FI Stadium In A Couple Of Weeks
