that bit in the beginning, solar kicked away the moustache ring she had dropped earlier... that was their actual debut stage, like the first performance of their first song that they ever did on a music show. all the girls had moustache rings for parts of the choreo and solar dropped hers about halfway through the performance... then later on she just swept it off to the side to make sure nobody else stepped on it or anything ...yeah, wheein and solar are kind of the klutzes onstage. and off. if someone's going to slip onstage, it tends to be one of these two. or both. you'll also see performances where one or the other is sitting in a chair because they hurt an ankle tripping earlier (sometimes backstage, sometimes on an earlier performance, sometimes just out and about, not performance related). also, i believe at least one stage where one of them is shown slipping here was an outdoor stage when it was raining slightly, so slippery (akin to that one viral gfriend video of basically everyone falling over and over. that one i honestly hate seeing) the song you asked about (with wheein slapping byul's butt) was "ahh oop", esna with mamamoo. (esna was a singer/songwriter with rbw at the time, has since moved back to the states. she helped write or compose a fair number of mamamoo's older songs and is a big reason for their original retro feel. and despite her feelings on the company (long story), she still absolutely loves the mamamoo girls and oneus boys) ...and that weird noise wheein did... that's something she does in virtually every "piano man" performance, believe it or not. she's mimicking/making fun of the piano sound at the time. and hwasa absolutely loves to put her mic up to wheein when she does it, so the audience can hear why she and byul are almost always laughing at that part of the song ha, the part with confused byul... that's actually one problem they have kind of often... since they've got several versions of so many of their songs... 'studio' version, 'festival' version and so on... they'll often get caught up thnking they're doing one version (usually at smaller festivals, not nearly as often at bigger shows) but it turns out a different version is being played... like this one, i believe was a festival version of the song where the members introduced themselves in the middle of it and byul just went into her rap like the regular/studio version of the song does. and then the third time it happened (at a different festival) she was 'ha, you ain't fooling me' ...and it was the other version of the song... poor byul, but so funny solar's voice has actually cracked on multiple occasions, the most recent one i can think of was for an "aya" performance (where she started going by the name 'lynzee' afterwards for a bit. because of the crack). wheein's has cracked a few times, too, in live performances. they usually laugh it off and keep performing... or try to... sometimes they wind up laughing way too hard (like the "aya" one) and that bit with wheein's microphone... no clue why, but the silly puppy had it upside down and had to flip it over for her part. she's done that at least two other times, years apart. and i have zero idea how she manages it and the part with solar pushing byul away... that's part of a long-running gag. the two were supposed to make a heart together, something they're supposed to do a lot in different performances, yet byul almost never completes it to make solar look like a fool. this was one of the few times solar actually realized it when it happened, so shoved byul for being a troll ...yeah, solar's slip there was a bad one (and i believe wheein was wearing sneakers there precisely because she had hurt her ankle previously and wasn't fully recovered from it). i love how they all stopped to check on her instead of just continuing "love lane" is one of mamamoo's ost songs (for the show 'marriage not dating') and "peppermint chocolate" is one of their two pre-debut songs (alongside "don't be happy"), so understandable why they wouldn't really be known ...honestly, i'm surprised none of their cinderella moments showed up in this compilation. (that's when a member loses a shoe somehow). that's happened enough to get a whole compilation focused just on it. though so has the 'wrong song plays at a festival so mamamoo just goes with it and sings that one instead' or the audio/mic issues at festivals where they swap mics or just sing the songs without a backing track
@@AmadanMath oh yeah, her worst one was jan 2018, which left her in the hospital for a while (she wrote a song about the loneliness she felt there) and is apparently what got her to start pole dancing. A doctor is said to have suggested the sport to strengthen her back muscles The queendom slip aggravated her slipped disc but she didn't realize it until after they finished the performance and went to the hospital to get it checked out (which is why she missed the mixed group stuff and arrived on her own when the rest of the support rode a bus together)
That Solar fall makes me wince every time I see it, she handled it really well though 😬 This is a great compilation, my favourite thing about watching Mamamoo live is definitely how relaxed they are on stage. That's something you can really see in their concerts, not just in the way they perform but in the way they talk to the crowd in-between songs. It feels like they're just having a chill conversation with the audience, it's awesome to see a group feeling so at ease
5:55 I would also like to add to this point that the fact that they can be so free and have so much fun on stage actually shows how much they have practiced and rehearsed. They've done so much prep work that they are able to joke around and have fun on stage while also delivering a fantastic performance. It's a true testament of their diligence and professionalism.
I love this youtuber's compilations so much. they're golden. Hwasa exposing Wheein during piano man by putting a mic next to her mouth when she's not expecting it is maybe my favorite thing ever. One of my favorite things about Mamamoo's live stages, esp at music festivals and such is that they're able to have fun. I feel like so much of kpop is about the perfection of it all, which is valid as well, but I do like seeing them just be themselves on stage. it's very endearing. Sleep in the car is a great track. iconic really. I will say while all their albums and b-sides are great, Reality In Black hit different. it's such a banger of an album. ✌️
Hope those clips maange to tease you enough to react to more of their b-sides their all amazing (and maybe some album reaction since you've finally got your 4 seasons). My favourite thing about them live is how they interact with the crowd and make it participate, it's something we don't see enough in KPOP.... argh i want to see them live !!!
The second clip is from 12/28/14 - so baby Mamamoo - and it's actually the stage where MooMoos first showed their love for MMM be holding up the "Never letting go"-signs... the rest is history ;-) And the song were Hwasa knocked down the monitor was love lane, so you got a tiny little glimps of it. For Taller than me there are the live stages with the overalls, but keep a lookout for the really funny ones with the snots and the MooMoo god
thank you for the reaction!! so glad u enjoyed it as much as you did. also thanks to dear kalaksed for the thorough explanation, saw them providing that for some other vids too educating all of us :P like u said, mmm’s live stages are addicting for so many reasons. Solar falling.. yeah, she faces some probs with the heels sometimes. if u recall, she almost fell in queendom’s good luck stage, also stumbled in the final stage (u haven't got to this one just yet). please don’t be hurt and always be healthy mamamoo!
I'm biased. But I love everything about them, mistakes and all~ despite all this, they still own the stage. I think you should check out Mamamoo Flirts with each other on stage for 10 min. Good luck!
really, it's the other way around, despite how the company promoted it. an esna song featuring mamamoo. it was one of the first songs esna ever wrote, if not *the* first. and she intended to use it as her debut song but one of the rbw ceos convinced her to share it with mamamoo... and then basically forced her out of promoting her own song when knetz got upset seeing 'that old woman' with mamamoo...
pretty sure they described it as a "collaboration" It was a song written by Esna but like the person above said shit happened Esna also had written "Don't Be Happy" and "Peppermint Chocolate" for herself but was persuaded to hand those over
@@kalaksed okay, thank you for telling me! I edited the original comment. I hope it’s okay now. 🙂 I really like that song so I’m sorry I was wrong about it.
@@Laurenlad hey, no worries. it's a great song and a lot of people, even those around when it was released, don't know the story of it (or why esna isn't fond of rbw, though she still adores all the artists in it)
PLEASE react to the Taller than You comeback stage!!! I just rewatched it because you reminded me that it existed and it's as good as I remember. This whole compilation just made me think about one that Nynah Nina made called "Mamamoo Pushing Each other for 10 minutes" though, maybe for another mamamoo monday? Anyway, I love your (Mamamoo) reactions so much that I have your channel unblocked on AdBlocker and I think that says a lot. Thank you for your genuine reactions!!!!
