I have had an Airedale, and am hopefully about to get another one, if all goes well. xfingers, covid is hard on everyone.
I had a big male Standard Poodle a few years ago, and my daughter was playing with him in the back yard, basically just spraying him with the hose, and he wasn't a huge fan of water.
She left, and left the hose on the ground - and he bit it into about 7 segments, and that was the end of her spraying him, or so he thought. Smart, but not any smarter than Airedales in my opinion, I don't know how they come up with those intelligence ratings. Airedale might be a bit more stubborn, but that doesn't mean he's less intelligent, just smart enough to know that you don't always know what you're doing.
I think a Standard-Airedale friendship would be a good one, they're both playful.
