@@Bearwolf If your router has dual bandwidth (most likely if 5yr or newer) disable the 5GHz during setup. This will prevent connection issues. Hey man, I just wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart.. I swear I’ve wasted hours being frustrated and you showed me how to fix it in the first 9 minutes! You’re a saint
I just bought it. I was skeptical since it was about $10 only but boy do I already love it. I can choose warm, daylight and many other options. Easy to install. Maybe 3 minutes. I love that I can preset multiple times to turn off and on.
I bought a 2-pack from Costco ($10 off - normally $20). Tried it and loved it. Went back and bought 5 more packs. My kids love these and right now I have them fading between red and green - like Christmas.
@@johnsonaristide4832 it works I had the same problems and almost threw them away and I’m glad I didn’t because these are badass they really have philips hue a run for their money
Thank you so much! I watched 3 other videos and still could not get it working. By you doing it live, and you pointing out it needed to be in AP Mode and that you needed a slow flash, solved my problem. Thank you!
I was having an issue adding them to my guest network (keep IOT separate from internal network). I figured out that these lights expect to see all devices in their network, so you have to enable visibility and possibly routing between your internal network and the guest network in your router while you're adding them. After that, you can disable it, and they'll still work.
I have 9 of the lights... I use a mifi in my house for when my DSL fails in the winter (snow storms and such). I am attaching all of the Feit devices to the mifi... works awesome. The data usage for the 9 lights barely even registers on the mifi. This way I can control all devices from anywhere (I travel extensively) without the fear of the landline being cut for my DSL (which happens in the rural area I live.) (BTW... it's pronounced just like 'Fight', not Fee-It. German pronunciation.) I just purchased the inside and exterior power outlets, door and window sensors, inside security camera and exterior security camera/floodlight combination. If I have time over the New Years weekend, I am going to connect all of them. If they work, it will be the solution I've been looking for.
LORDTTTTT. I just installed the Downlight ones. I had the HARDEST time to connect it. If didn’t pair with a slow blink for me. I had to turn it on and off 3 times and it started blinking super fast, and then I did search device, it stopped blinking, 20 seconds later it popped up. So far I love the colors, they’re very bright and true to tone. The app is pretty easy to use too Snd flawless.
Last year Costco were selling the Spotlight version of these bulbs for about $20-25 for a 4 pack, yes a 4 PACK. Then they cleared out their stock of 2 packs for $10. They paired with the WiFi and the App first time, wish I had bought a lot more.
Thanks SOOO much for this video!!! I couldn't get them to pair!!! Your steps were easy to follow and now they're working working well!!! Much appreciated!!!💜💜💜
@@Bearwolf I just subscribed!!! Can you do a video on how to customize the effects of these bulbs??? I'm still trying to figure that out...Thanks for all your help!!!💜💜💜
It’s not your modem, it’s your router, unless you have a combined modem/router. Most people don’t. The modem brings in the signal through cable. The router transmits it like a radio on either 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz. You can decide which wavelength you want to connect on. Most modern routers are dual-band i.o.w they transmit on both.
They have greatly improved these bulbs. If you have weak wifi you may have problems with them disconnecting. I had them in the basement and when I moved them upstairs they have never disconnected. The cool thing about these is how they integrate with Google home. You can tell the voice assistant to make them red and it works. Also you can schedule them to turn on and off according to the weather or time of day. Pretty neat bulbs.
Thanks for the video. Get a mic and you'll be all set... I was just curious what to expect. I saw all the low ratings for the app, so I hope I don't regret not just going Hue. I have a few Hue lights, but they're way too expensive. Thanks again bro bro
Disable your 5GHz before attempting to connect else you'll send these bulbs to the firing range. They really should include that step as part of the official setup process.
I haul dumpsters. Pulled one from Lowe's and found the 100w Feit RGBW and it was a customer return. Reception stated customer says it doesn't connect. Took it home, fired it up and decided to buy a second! Receipt should've said, customer didn't know what they're doing 😂
Feit's current technology works as a bit of a novelty, something to perhaps entertain children. But, do not mistake this technology for a real, viable, and dependable tool for home security. We programmed and tested routines to run lights and switches in our absence while in Europe for two weeks. Within two days of our departure, Feit's app had lost defined recognition of two lights. After 4 days all Feit devices were unrecognized. We returned home to find three devices had been on and 6 devices off the entirety of our two week absence. I've reconfigured multiple times but finally, after Device configurations being wiped again and again, have replaced all Feit Smart bulbs with standard LEDs.

Got to say u have a nice patio I bought 32 of the bulbs to replace my white Sengled bulbs so much easier than Sengled on and off 10-15 times to pair it. 3 pack at Lowe’s for $22 bucks u over paid for 1 bulb

I set up 2 bulbs in my living room but only one of them works as the other one says offline and never turn on when I click on it. Can anyone help with this please .
Honestly I hate these Feit bulbs. I found that deleting them and reinstalling the multiple times different times of the day will sometimes make them work. Don't ask me why this sometimes works but that's the only chance you'll have to getting it to work. Don't bother watching any of their videos they tell you nothing new that you already don't know and they don't allow comments so you can't even ask them questions.
I'm not sure why you are saying the blinking should be slowly. It should be blinking "rapidly" (see time 6:56). Says it right in the instructions where it tells you to turn on and off several times.
these bulbs don’t come close to Philips hue and lifx as far as color brightness I had these bulbs before the the colors were extremely dim I got rid of them and switch to Philips hue and lifx
