They're very very common in the US depends where ya live when I loved in fl bever ever saw one didn't even kmow they existed but I moved to pa and they are freaking everywhere I think for the price it's awesome it looks fantastic like a mini range rover but I gotta get over the ppwer motor size and the fact it's a Mitsubishi
We've just picked up a 2024 Aspire 2WD in sterling silver with added factory toe bar, nudge bar, tinted windows and rubber boot protector. My wife is absolutely delighted driving it and loves the added safely features and heads up display. It's very roomy and our kids love sitting in the second row. The boot space with the third row down is excellent. You're an excellent reviewer!
IMHO, the Aspire is the best value especially after negotiating a better deal where there was only about a $1500 price difference between the LS Black Edition and the Aspire. For that extra mula, the Aspire offers a larger 10.8 inch touch screen, heads up display, and auto tailgate, not available on competing cars at the same trim levels such as the Nissan X Trail ST-L that we also seriously considered.
Great review! We picked up an Exceed Tourer in November and got 10% off the drive away price, which is only about $5k over an Aspire 2WD. We keep our cars long term and the 10 year warranty is what did it for us. It isn't the best handling car, it doesn't have a heap of power but is a very comfortable car, and it is more than enough for us to live with for the next 8 or so years. Loaded up with 2 adults, 2 kids and luggage, in AWD form we achieved 6.3L/100klm on the highway too with very little effort.
After owning 3 Mitsubishi’s I would def buy another. That size is perfect…not interested in the 3rd row, but for someone who needs space for 2 Golden Retrievers it looks great!
I can't wait for mine to arrive, but they said it might not be till the end of May! I have a 2014 RAV4 and have never had a problem with it, but as it is 10 years old I think it is time to get a car that is a bit more modern. So, I took an Outlander Aspire for a test drive, and absolutely fell in love with it. Not only that, but I am getting a lot of accessories to personalise my car. I even let the little kid in me choose to get all the pretty blue lights. lol I had been waiting for Toyota to make a new RAV4 that I liked. Sorry Toyota, I am switching you for the new Mitsubishi. My husband is buying himself the new Triton as his current Triton is 5 years old and needs an upgrade too. :)
another great review. I have a September 2022 MY22.5 AWD Aspire. It is a great car. I have n oneed ofr the 7 seats so space in the rear is not an issue.
I have the LS, which is a great value for money option imo, and about the adaptive cruise control being prioritised on the driver's instrument cluster, there is a setting that allows you to stay in the section you are in without switching over when you activate it.
Looks a capable SUV, not top of the line, CVT plus non-turbo engine isn’t wonderful. It’s definitely a 5 + 2, great for families, though the Kia Sorento is a better car to buy I suspect. Fuel consumption looks a bit high. Mitsubishi’s have reasonable reliability but I surely wouldn’t want to put anyone I care about in the two back seats. A great review, thorough and fair.
Thanks mate. I think the steering is one of my least favourite traits in the Outlander. Bit too over-responsive around the straight ahead position. Body roll? Not excessive for this type of car.
Should have add the Chery Tiggo 8 pro max as an alternative otherwise great review. Will be upgrading from my last generation outlander black edition as I find it abit too small for my family.
As someone who has owned several Mitsubishis over the last 35 years (from Pajeros to a 380 GT) I personally think style wise they have lost the plot. They are losing market share hence the savings with services and additional warranty.
@@perpetualgrin5804 One of the best I’ve had. Purchased it brand new and after having it for about 8 years I ended up giving it to my father who still drives it today. A well built Australian car that unfortunately didn’t sell well. Loved that engine and the exhaust note.
@@perpetualgrin5804 Agreed. However, it was up against the two rear wheeled drive cars from Ford and Holden. Hence the slow sales. However IMO, it was significantly better and I was a Toyota Production Manager at that time. The 380 was a better designed car with some features ahead of its time for local production. My Son in law has one so I knew he had at least half a brain for my oldest daughter. 😬
We could go on forever, but at least there are 2 car experts on you- tube. My theory is that production was so slow they were almost all hand built, no rush. Plus every employee knew it was there last chance to keep their jobs.
Nice, been trying to find a nice Sedan like a Mazda 6, but there's nothing like it that's Japanese and affordable anymore. This looks great, didn't really want a SUV, as don't need it, but want comfort and space and this is on my list. ASPIRE, Exceed and Exceed Tourer look great. The screen inside is a big let down.
The ever reliable, comfortable, well balanced, smooth & solid Japanese quality build & finish, Toyota Camry sedan?. No better refined engine, drivetrain & suspension tune, & yet so very reasonably priced.
I just went to Mituinishi dealer today and the sales told me the Aspire AWD is 52860 dollars. 😮 Why is it so different from your video.Did they change the price for the EOFY sale..😮😮
Yeah, a hybrid seven seater or a seven seater with AWD would help. They’re a bit stuck with what they can and can’t offer. There’ll be a cheaper 5 seat hybrid soon, I believe.
What i dont get is why mitsubishi doesn't give us that Chrome arches in the front and that chrome strip in rear in black as well if it is a "black edition".Be it any model in their lineup all of them have chrome in the front and people have to spent a more on chrome delete to make it match everything else..
In Japan, the 2024 Black Edition doesn't have chrome anymore, the front is all gloss black even the skid plate part in the bumper, the dynamic shield is chrome too and the side below the windows are now blacked out.
Looks like the Sorento 2024 or the Santa Fe 2024 are both objectively better all around (3rd row space, comfort, infotainment...). That said, the design of the new Santa Fe is definitely not to my taste, so our next family car will prolly be the Sorento. By the way, in this category, you also have the new Renault Espace we tried as well. Pack up a punch for the money, specially the infotainment. But again, the overall feeling is just better in Hyundai/Kia cars. Next up in four months: the new 5008. Not holding my breath, since it will be plagued with same design and conception issues than the new 3008, and will hit a major price tag.
Thanks for that. We don’t get the Espace here. And no-one buys a 5008 on purpose in Australia. I hope Peugeot can get more people into its showrooms. The brand makes some amazing vehicles.
So i prefer the look of the previous generation(feels less like a rebadged Xtrail) but the drive on that generation i kind of agree, despite have a 2. 4l engine it feels very lethargic under load and the cvt was over enthusiastic with the revs at low speed but it did what it said on the tin and the price wasnt too raucus. we crossed this off our list, wanted mid spec but not the 7 seats to lug around for not reason. also didnt feel value for money anymore and dont like cvt and n/a engine was meh.
I love the way it looks but Mitsubishi used to suck unreliable etc reviews say it bas a 4 out if 5 reliability a civic has 4.5 sounds good how good are these and reliable only tjong putting me off is 1 it's a Mitsubishi 2 the motor size and power I don't think anything should be under 300 hp
It's a pretty SUV with a stupid CVT transmission - aka - junk which is hard to sell ONCE you own it! They were stupid to put a cvt in that - and for that reason, I decided not to buy it!
I sat in this car at a car show and I’m 5”10 and could not even fit in the second row without opening the sunroof shade. Do not buy this car if you’re planning to have people sit in the second row. And don’t even talk to me about the third row, I couldn’t sit up straight and couldn’t face my feet forward.
If you’re buying the top spec models you’re obviously never going off road so just buy a 2WD Pajero Sport instead and you won’t have to put up with that horrible CVT
We test drove a Pajero Sport, and the handling was awful. It was one of the worst cars I have ever driven! You'll get much better value at the $55k mark in one of these than you would in a Pajero Sport. The CVT is a big improvement over earlier versions too.
@@downcomesthenight I’ll try to remember that if I ever take a family SUV on a racetrack. Do you also measure a Mitsubishi Mirage by its off-road capability?

I got mine in NOV 21/22 mitsubishi outlander LS 7 SEAT and it got powered tailgate and i love it
The people have spoken. These things are everywhere. I see at least 100 a day.
Value for money, three rows of seats, a striking look and potential 10 year warranty - it’s easy to see why it’s a success
Only just pipped in sales by the RAV 4,
