At mark 1:20, a college student named Bob is seen with his dad. He explains that he's not going back to school because he hates engineering and prefers getting a job.
At mark 3:50, his dad asks him at meal to go out to his workplace, an Allis Chalmers industrial plant.
At mark 4:50, Dad explains to Bob about blueprints. These are part of the plans for a turbo generator unit to supply electricity of thousands of watts of power. At mark 5:35, Bob and his father tour the plant. They visit the drafting room at mark 5:42. At 6:26, a woman worker uses a hammer to work on a turbine. At mark 7:00 is the steam turban and its components including a condenser, boilers, and so on.
Another vast source electrical energy is water power at mark 7:35. Again engineers lead the way, they design the dams; also design and construct the powerful hydraulic turbines and generators at mark 7:50. Hoover Dam is shown. 8:08 is the massive circuit breakers that stand guards at the electrical power station to protect from dangerous overloads. At mark 8:35 are substations. At mark 8:45, the functions of power are seen, powering trains, trolleys and trolley buses. At 8:47 Times Square in New York is seen with its neon signs. At mark 9:00 it is used in textile mills and industry. At mark 9:23, it is used in rubber industry.
At 9:40, the story behind rock and ore processing begins. Dad explains how crushers crush rocks at mark 10:22. Large quantities of these materials are used to maintain the highways at mark 10:27. At mark 10:33 is a limestone quarry where cements are produced from limestone. We use gasoline and oil in which engineers and geologists have gotten. From labs, drafting rooms and shops have come machineries to sink well and draw oil from earth as seen at mark 11:50 pump it to refineries and split it into host of valuable petroleum products seen at mark 12:05.
At mark 12:30 is Salt Creek falls, Crater Lake in the west, and other lakes or in the Northern Minnesota, the open pit mine of the famous Iron Range at mark 12:55. At mark 13:36 a steam locomotive pulls a train laden with ore, and a diesel engine is seen. At 14:07 a lake carrier ship is seen. At mark 14:18, the blast furnace and the open earth furnace. At mark 14:40 are power transformers which are also designs of engineers. At mark 15:30 is a montage of construction, manufacturing of tools, building of trains, automobiles and ships. At mark 15:58 is a forge shop, Bob sees finished tractors at mark 16:48.
Bob's father explains how engineering helps to supply food tat mark 17:00. At mark 17:24 are mills. Born and raised in West Allis myself. Both my Aunt and Mother worked there. Sad to see all that is gone. Sucks really.

Chemicals made life better for all don't you disrespect that's why we have bed bugs and other pests now because the tree huggers made them obsolete in fear of the environment I'm in my late fifties and I used to eat paint chips all the time and broke open thermometers just to play with the mercury maybe misspelled and the smell of leaded gas was like roses to me and I'm not dysfunctional that I know or need a time out because I'm artistic and I'm sure I'll get heat but everyone needs to be pampered and there's always a cause for their dysfunctional behavior today's society has no accountability it's always the blame is to be laid at other than myself perfect example McDonald's paid off a lawsuit because girl spilled hot coffee in her lap wow and if I trip on your side walk because I'm a water head you better have your insurance up to date most states mandate that I must wear a seat belt or risk being fined apparently that's where the accountability comes into affect I'm not responsible enough to look out for my well being so I need some help remember its not me its my surroundings that made me this way and there's nothing worse than when I get to the grocery store and the scooter's battery is dead I'm gonna have to walk hell no

AC was so much more than farm equipment. Hard to believe such a giant is all gone today. 😢
