Agatha Christie used `four letter` words. When `Down With Myth America` by Sandra Shevey was published by the New York Times on 24 May 1970 it included the phrase (unedited) `shackling bitch`. It also `outed` Elizabeth Taylor as a gay Hollywood icon conceived and manipulated by (gay) men. This is the first time the `b` word was printed in the New York TImes. I also believe it was the first time said vernacular was used in an American publication by an American author. I am assuming your use and/or publication of 4 letter words refers to the UK 1968.
