- In today’s video, I’ll be helping this patient achieve a more youthful, refreshed look with the help of the Fraxel laser. Utilizing a million points of light, the Fraxel laser helps stimulate the production of new collagen to ease away fine lines, wrinkles, and scars. This treatment can also be used to help reduce the appearance of brown spots, reduce pore size, and even out skin tone and texture. Thank you for the explanation. For retinol and hydroquinone, how many days should we stop these medications before and after treatment with a Fraxel Dual? Additionally, for patients using isotretinoin or antibiotics for acne, should these treatments be stopped before the procedure, or is it unnecessary? Thank you very much.
Would Fraxel Laser be a good treatment option if you have acanthosis nigricans on your cheeks? I've lost all the weight and have even been on tretinoin for over 6 months, but am wanting more improvement.
thank you for the explination and now i feel comfortable doing
Is it safe ??
I’m surprised no eye protection.
Hi. Good question. Most lasers absolutely require goggles especially if they are attracted to pigment or vasculature. Those lasers can cause serious eye damage and full precaution has to be taken for the patient and for the operator. Fraxel laser is a non ablative laser that targets water. It only fires when in direct contact with the skin and when in motion. This laser will not damage the eyes unless it is rolled across the eyes purposely. The delicate skin around the eyes can also be safely targeted so long as the laser is not right on the eye. Hope that makes sense.
