    I love how well you grow your orchids indoors. You got some really nice orchids from Ecuagenera. They do have a large selection of smaller orchids that are great for small spaces. Your Phrag is amazing! Can you believe I don’t own any Phrags. I need to try them out.

    14:17 The leaves on this Lepanthes reminds me of a turtle. 🐢 Maybe some kind of terrarium setup would help when you're on vacation.
    17:33 My favorite orchid from the video because of the detail. I got to experience of the fragrance of the Glandulosa earlier this month at J&L.
    7:49 I think this Phragmipedium was in one of your first videos from around this time last year.
    I'm looking forward to the videos in 2025!

      Yes!! They do have turtle-like leaves! The flowers are wonderful too!! I’m trying a new technique this vacation to see if it worked better! I’m hoping to have an update in the January update! Yes, the phrag and paph are super reliable bloomers! That’s one reason why I love these plants! I’m glad you got to smell the glandulosa! Isn’t the fragrance so neat? Just like grape bubblegum!

    Hi, great collection and very nice set up! Do you grow them under led light all year round?

    • @OrchidsByBryan
      @OrchidsByBryan  7 днів тому +1

      Yes, these orchids never see natural sunlight. I grow them exclusively under LED lights.

    Hi Bryan, great orchid in bloom video, enjoyed your lovely blooms. I love the phrag Fitz Schumberg, such a fantastic display! How do you grow phrags? Can you do a guide growing video on this orchid please? Thanks for sharing and happy growing 😊

      Thank you so much! And I can definitely do a video on how I grow my phragmipediums! They are pretty easy but there are a few key things to keep in mind!
      1. Phrags like ALOT more light than Paphs. I grow mine under Cattleya light conditions.
      2. I place mine in a dish of water about 1-1.5inches deep depending on the pot size all the time! These orchids grow on the edges of rivers in the wild and are near constantly wet. You can’t overwater this species so when in doubt water these plants at least twice a week or more.
      3. Repotting is critical for these plants. Some growers repot every 6 months, but after 1 year you definitely need to repot. They are sensitive to salt build up on the roots. I repot every year.
      Hopefully that helps in the meantime! :)

      @@OrchidsByBryan So helpful, thanks very much Brayan! I had a Phrag (same as yours) but killed it long time ago and since then I never wanted to kill another one. Now that I think about it it was probably died of salt build up or less watering. Thanks for the growing tips! Looking forward to see your video as well.

    Beautiful!😊
    Question: what is the benefit of double potting? Some of your plants are terracotta pots sitting in upsized pots🙂

    • @OrchidsByBryan
      @OrchidsByBryan  2 дні тому

      @@Patches9427 the double potting helps with growing cool growing orchids! I have a layer of sphagnum moss in the bottom of the larger pot and then place the plant in the small terracotta in the middle. I also place the pot in a dish of water so the sphagnum is moist. The water is wicked in the terracotta and creates a cooling chamber of sorts for the roots and the plant when the water is absorbed.
