Always something more important to me. Finally, she thought of a clever way to make her point. When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors. I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house. I was gone only a minute, and when I came out again I handed her a toothbrush. I said, "When you finish cutting the grass, you might as well sweep the driveway." The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp.
Not trying to one up anyone, but when I stayed at home to raise our large brood and my husband worked ridiculous hours to pay the bills, I fixed the mower because we couldn't afford a replacement or repair. You learn to make it work. I thought the truth might sound better than your fantasy.

I'm not sure what political issues you have unless you're a liberal, but I live in an area of VA where I would love it if there were more people with his political views. The politicians here are like Mr. Biden, Ms. Harris, and Obama. They spend hard earned taxpayer's money on programs that don't work and only benefit the politician's career instead of serving the people in their community. And people still keep voting them into office because they'd rather let the government system be their daddy than get a job.
You need to be teaching this to boys and young men. My son's buddies come over to tinker on projects in our gargage and husband wanders out there and ends up mentoring these young men on using tools. These guys have not grown up learning those skills.

But, see if dedicating a little time to just be with your wife, without distractions, helps. Can the two of you do some of the things together? Or spend time with her first, then start work on the projects? 🤷♀️ Maybe there is a way to take time quality time with her during the week so you can still get the project time on the weekends. My wife gets annoyed when I go out and do all the work. Not because she wants to help but because she wants to spe d time with me during the weekend and thats when I have time to do all the work lol. I really need to find a new technique. It's been 16 years so I doubt she'll leave me but maybe I just need a cheap cowboy hat too..

Sounds like Quality Time is her love language. And if you're busy all week, she's missing you.
I understand having a to-do list a million items long. But, see if dedicating a little time to just be with your wife, without distractions, helps.
Can the two of you do some of the things together? Maybe stop an hour or two earlier to spend the time with her? Or spend time with her first, then start work on the projects? 🤷♀️ Maybe there is a way to take time quality time with her during the week so you can still get the project time on the weekends.
I've been with my husband 15 years. Yup, not going anywhere either. But it doesn't mean we don't miss you guys. And, unfortunately, the project/to-do list will always be there.

@@SWags-ly7dp She is actually the bacon bringer of our family, Works from 10-8 every day as a mental health counselor to people. I spend as much time with her as possible heh, Gift giving is her big thing and I try the best to shower her with gifts.
Besides most the things I do are Honeydo lists anyways. 95% of all house stuff is on me, I'm Mr. Mom on top of my work. Only "Mom" thing I don't do is have Girlfriends I get coffee or do palates with lol
