What Tim really wanted to say was: back in his “day”, they didn’t need tags because they each had a distinctive sound.
🤫 (whispers in your ear) They stress tags these days because all of the producers sound the same.
Focus on developing an undeniably, infectious sound, and you won’t need a tag.
Don’t forget, you’re not making beats for other producers, you’re making beats for artists and regular people. Nobody really cares about your tag.

How long before we are able to sell beats on beat club?

Another reason why tags are so important now is that we don’t purchase a physical forms of music like cd’s and tapes with music credits written on them. We used to be able to read the tape or cd inserts to see who wrote the song or produced the track. Just make sure it’s understandable!
