I recently shared this video with some Experimental Rock guitar & bass friends with this tip that helped me:
If you lay that A Minor Pentatonic over A Mixolydian (following the fret dots on the 3 low strings, from the 5th fret of the low E), you can easily see which notes that are added are within the A Mixolydian Scale (on the dotted frets) & which notes that are added (along with the minor/flat 3rd already in A Minor Pentatonic) that are not within the A Mixolydian Scale (not on the dotted frets), but still sound awesome!

But for Jazz, should I be laying this over the A Ionian Mode, instead? Or both A Ionian & A Mixolydian? Maybe even over A Dorian (Jazz Minor)?

This was the key for me.Thank you.I play like 27 years now.learned all the scales.Sloppy knowing triads because lazy fuck.But somehow i never fund my voice.I worked so long on technical stuff that i was only familiar with scales up down across and the blues scale that i love the most tbh.i know it everywher.but i always missed the jazzy from my playing.just fast stuff put together randomly.This has given me what i missed.i can finaly here myself and with ease because i know the fking blues scale everywhere
