I see a few comments about the Master channel not operational. It's like this, software DAW manufacturers license their software to companies that make hardware but omit certain functions other wise no one would buy theirs. Pro Tools is an example of it. They will only give licenses to certain companies. Everyone knows that the Mackie Protocol doesn't allow for master fader control. If you buy an Avid made control surface their software is Eucon that allows full functionality. You still can assign a master fader to the Icon as a channel. Some DAW's it works like Studio One has a master fader control in their code. Some don't. I own these Qcon Pro X and XS and love how well built they are. I have never had an issue with them. As long as its installed properly its one of the best units on the market. Affordable as well. Avid's is $5k, SSL, $5k. Icon $3400 and does everything they do.

I, first of all many thanks for all your videos. I have a question for you.
I use Cubase Pro 11 and I have the Icon QConProX.
Normally I don´t touch the master of the provect and I use The cue VST fader in the control room to manage the volumen of the monitors or the balance from the direct inputs of mu RME and the Cubase...Can I asing the Master fader of the IQcon with the Cue VST Fader? How?

@@martinpohl4195 I have the Qcon Pro and am thinking about housing it into a desk myself so it is flush with the desk surface. If it looks half as nice as this I will be happy 😊

I have these units and I love almost everything about it, My biggest complaint is the master meters doesn’t work and unfortunately the company would rather go back to its original design and paint it black then to fix the problem. I ordered the qcon pro x and the extenders. This company lacks integrity! But the word is out so we will get the last laugh. It’s sad that they won’t offer a recall on their mess! They’d rather screw the consumer.

Pete if you tested this unit before putting it out on the market you would’ve already know that the master Fater meter doesn’t work. My complaint is that you will allow us to purchase this unit knowing that the master Fater didn’t work. Even if you want to blame the software companies you should have mentioned that to us that it doesn’t work on every platform yet. As far as I am concerned the proof is the fact that you would put the unit back out again taking the master meter off of it and going back to your original design and make it black. As you see the word is getting out! So don’t be surprise Pete if you see me posting this again. If you are truly about making it right then or refund my money or some of it. For the main unit anyway. Better yet why don’t you collect all of this mess and send me out all new units, the new ones that is if you’re about making it right! Until then this is clearly a lack of integrity!!!

@@TERRYBRADFORD1 According to icon the DAWs send no master info through the protocols. I would like to know how this is so using the MCU and HUI protocols. If this was the case, it would plague every DAW controller. As far as I know, they all are using at least one of these two protocols. The other DAW controllers implement this function just fine.

It's not a Controller problem. Icon is NOT at fault. Your DAW does not support MIDI Mapping to Master Channel as so do other popular DAWs such as Pro Tools.

I've read about too many horror stories about this unit from it's inaccurate functioning to the poor support from the company.
Just not worth the risk for me.

Keith Harris II The sad thing is they want to put it on the software companies, but if they had tested the units before putting it out they would have known that the master Fater meter doesn’t work on all of the software that’s out there. But no they want to put the unit out anyway without telling us about the problem and expect us just to be happy after spending all the money that we’ve spent on each units. And now you got to play a game of who’s on first! And what really amazes me is they would go back to the original design and paint it black. This is clearly a lack of integrity!!!

I had a controller + 2 extenders for over 3 years, I only had issues and issues, bugs, noises on faders, and after that, I sold them for less than half of the price. Lost money - and worse -I spend my precious time trying to launch useless firmwares. That's it. ]

@@TERRYBRADFORD1 Its funny because this is an area of the gear industry that is SERIOUSLY lacking. This icon happens to be the most promising and the closest thing to an Avid S1 competitor. It has the most "potential" as a universal DAW controller. According to icon the master fader meter issue is not a problem with the board itself but with the DAW manufacturers. They say that the daw manufacturers send no information out to consoles about the master fader meter. They suggest that those interested contact the DAW companies to petition them to add this functionality being that they have already tried to do so. I won't directly accuse them of lying but this is kind of hard to believe. They say they utilize the MCU and HUI protocols. As far as I know, other DAW controllers utilize these same protocols being that their is really no other universal protocols, besides Eucon, which is proprietary to Avid. Yet, the other controllers have no problem with this.
