Thank you kindly. Accurate, to the point. New viewers be advised the designations have changed from Core and Advanced to Standard and Premium. Likewise under Permissions you're now looking for "Microsoft Purview solutions" then "Roles" under that for the eDiscovery Manager / Admin.

Good difference between content search and ediscovery search...Holds can be applied here...to prevent deletions...I guess for judicial proceedings or while doing audit logs for hacking issues to keep proof of content.Amazing work and explanations.

Great intro to eDiscovery! Is there a way to search for example a two letter keyword ("BA") and have it not return results with words such as "basic"? Thanks.

Hi, thanks for making this. I have a question regarding permissions. Suppose A is a global admin and assigns eDiscovery Admin rights to B. As A is not the admin, will he able to access case details?

My question is, I need to find all emails between usera and userb that contain "keyworda."
The only way I can figure out how to do it is to do two searches
    do one search From:UserA To:UserB
    do another search From:UserB To:UserA
Is there a way to combine them into one search?

When I do the exchange search, for included... it defaults to "None"... It does not give me the option for All. Is that a change? Or did I do something wrong?

If you wanted to start working in a ediscovery role with no experience how would you go about it (UK based)? Also is it hard or is it just a load of clicking and processes rather than being like actually hard? I have tried to research everywhere but not finding any info on what they actually do day to day... V frustrating!

Hi, thanks for the video. Being a global admin, I'm still unable to preview/export reports and results. Does it require to have an E3/E5/Ex-Online plan 2 for the Global admin account or the target mailbox. Kindly advise. Thanks in advance.

Now, can you do a video on how to search for Encrypted messages? I know that eDiscovery is capable, but we can't get premium to work or know what to search for since there is no way to search for permission level.

    • @Office365Concepts

Hi Gabriel, If emails are not available in Deleted Items folder or Recoverable Items folder, you can run either Content Search or e-discovery to recover those emails. These tools will only help if Litigation Hold was enable on the mailbox. I hope this answers your question.
