Very nice job. When I used to work as an aerospace engineer at the Naval Aviation Depot in Alameda, CA (1986 - 1989), this is what we would do to each S-3 Viking anti-submarine aircraft in the worldwide fleet. There were about 170 of these aircraft worldwide (in the US Navy and several friendly nation navies). We would take them apart, fix everything to as near-new as possible, reassemble them, repaint them, and release them back to their squadrons. Each aircraft was reworked like this about every 6-8 years.
I rebuild cat, komatsu, and JD dozers. I do so predominantly by myself. It takes several months. I rebuild each component. You have a wonderfully lit shop with an abundance of space. Looks professional. Even the support stands look good
It's always good to see equipment like this get much needed remedial work to such high standards. By remanufacturing these machines and components resources and costs are saved.
Don't know much about your industry, however I REALLY enjoyed the time-elapsed photography in this Vid... Who/m ever picked the sound tract did well also...! Thanks... Gordon (Am a retired pilot, where all things on aircraft is as light as possible - these HEAVY equipment units are fascinating...)
Gavin84w the spec builder has the highest paying job he is the one who rebuilds the drives and pumps, motors on his bench the tear down and reassemble is done by the low payed young guys and the engine gets done at the engine shop which pays go to.
The rebuild featured in the video took approximately 8 weeks. Most Carter Classic Machine Rebuilds take 6-8 weeks, depending on the needs of the customer.
I hope that this can be incorporated in to smaller equipment. I grew up on older cat equipment. I hate to tell you but block C Equipment is ten times what the new stuff is. Now it's just Mitsubishi stuff painted Cat yellow.
Got to run a new D-11T before I retired about 10 years ago,had been running the D-11R,didnt like the new T as much as the R model, quite a few hours in the R model, thats a very good model to rebuild! I would say you are exactly right about the newer machines, just like the Kamatsu,Japanese Cat!
My radio is always on when I'm on my computer, the only time I turn the volume up on the computer is if someone is saying something I need to hear, more times than not, I just leave the video muted, and listen to the radio. I also watch most video's at 1.25 or 1.5 speed.
That's a nice job you all done and I always said, if your going to do a service on a machine of that worth do it right and the machine will be good to you.
Hi there! The cost savings varies based the level of rebuild, working application, and machine age, but on average you should expect to save roughly 35% or more when you rebuild vs. replacing new.
Money costs or savings aside a guy needs to look at the fact you are keeping an older simpler machine in operation take that however you like some will see as a plus others not so much
Unfortunately, this video sped by, meaning that it wasn't actually possible to appreciate any of the excellent, skilful work that went into this refurbishment. Better editing would have not only made this video enjoyable to view, it would also enable prospective customers to get an appreciation of your work - neither of which is possible in it's current edit.
Brian Carter to check if the holes for the isolaters for the coolers lined up after repairs the mounting bolts break the mounts and are made to that piece.
Hi John. On average, you should expect to save roughly 35% or more when you rebuild vs. replacing new, depending on the level of rebuild, working application, and machine type/age.
I fail to understand why you wouldn't at least jet wash the unit off before tasking your crew with stripping it down. The same VERY valuable crew that get covered in shit unnecessarily…not to mention all that same shit in your nice clean shop…
John Smith This is West Virginia. Good jobs are hard to find and getting harder. Don't want it? There are plenty that will take your place without complaint.
its a really good point. and all that dirt gets brought inside the clean workplace onto the tools/machinery etc. With the costs of one of these rebuilds they should definitely pressure wash with heat to remove the crap off the thing
Set budget on machine conditions the IMPORTANT one in CONSTRUCTION industry and it's HOLD by FOREMAN not mechanic... Foreman is FRONTLINER in construction industry and TEAM work with all type engineering
Appearance means nothing these days.We ordered D 10 for rent it was rebuilt as well.Your folks forgot to install a spring in the brake valve guess what occurred .
Very nice job.

That is one beautiful piece of equipment going to get the hell beat out of it again
These sort of rebuilds are about the best job you can do at a dealership
Gavin84w the spec builder has the highest paying job he is the one who rebuilds the drives and pumps, motors on his bench the tear down and reassemble is done by the low payed young guys and the engine gets done at the engine shop which pays go to.
ya i worked with a company had 2 10Ts that where used and abused full rebuild and they where beautiful
now this is a career job I would really love to get into
Not with Carter you wouldn't. The ass kissin' was thick in the 80's...prolly still is
Great video , keep rebuilding beasts 👍
Outstanding! metamorphis!
Very nice. I'm curious what a new, comparable machine costs and what the rebuild cost.
excellent job!!!!
The CAT Rebiuld video was good too
BRAVO
Good job 👍💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

Carter Machinery what was the hose hanging from the boom in the shop used for. it was in the engine bay then the cab

@@asherdie they put that over the exhaust stacks when they run the engines to vent the exhaust outside.

AWESOME, I WANT ONE!!!
Good luck
Looks like basically a new everything....
PERFECT JOB
Amazing what 5 gallons of "Cat Yellow" can do. ;
Why did you remove tracks and track frames in the field then install them BEFORE starting the rebuild? Only installed right track so really odd
My tear down and rebuild of the c 32 cat accert. Thanks for watching. Let me work let me live
Only could do it that fast save on labor 😁 awesome job 👍
Awesome. What a difference. How come the tracks look slacker on the rebuild version than the used version ?
good video guys.
Spettacolo!!!
Cool video

looks great :)
The best way to do.
At 02:20, the "before & after" comparison; Why do the new tracks appear much narrower?
The whole track layout looks different.
Amazing
Wow cool!
Ausgezeichnet 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Time lapse was too fast. I would have been nice to actually SEE some of the steps during the transition in both the tear down and build up.
Mighty fine.
I'm always amazed at how a great video on youtube becomes even greater once you mute the annoying music.
My radio is always on when I'm on my computer, the only time I turn the volume up on the computer is if someone is saying something I need to hear, more times than not, I just leave the video muted, and listen to the radio.

its a staple
How long was the machine out of service/ time to do re-build ?
Great Job 👍
That's a nice job you all done and I always said, if your going to do a service on a machine of that worth do it right and the machine will be good to you.
Anything can be rebuilt. How much and how long did it take and cost is my curiosity.
ХОРОШАЯ КАПИТАЛКА................ТРАКТОР ОГОНЬ.............
did you put her on narrower tracks?, shiny new re-build by the way well done
wow it is big!!!!!!
Which shop location did this rebuild?
I wonder what the cost of a complete rebuild is ?
Would be interesting to know the costs of this fine rebuilding compared to the costs of buying a new D11R.
Hi there! The cost savings varies based the level of rebuild, working application, and machine age, but on average you should expect to save roughly 35% or more when you rebuild vs. replacing new.
@@CarterMachinery 👌
I wonder what is the cost of this kind of rebuild compared to new machine?
I was thinking the same
In the UK an annual chassis and running gear rebuild is £100K, the work in the vid would be ALOT more than that.
It's about half the cost of a new machine.
38 cents plus tax.
If it is not too private what is the cost differential between the rebuild and new? Thanks, KDM
+Kenneth Masters Local guys tell me that it costs about 60% of a new machine
Would it be cheaper to trade in so ....
You’re looking at it the wrong way. Rebuilding one of these SAVES the owner 40% over buying a new machine, while basically getting a new machine.
Money costs or savings aside a guy needs to look at the fact you are keeping an older simpler machine in operation take that however you like some will see as a plus others not so much
me fascina la mechanica
Awesome job guys. Did you rebuild everything on site? Totally cool.
I tore it down to the crank. C -32 accert
Good Job Sir. make another video D12

gooooooooood☝️☝️☝️☝️
Dose anyone know how much it cost to rework that machine to those standards?
why was the hard nose put on then removed and
painted
Brian Carter to check if the holes for the isolaters for the coolers lined up after repairs the mounting bolts break the mounts and are made to that piece.
What the cost ? Half price of a new one ?
would it be cheaper to buy a new one?
Hi John. On average, you should expect to save roughly 35% or more when you rebuild vs. replacing new, depending on the level of rebuild, working application, and machine type/age.
I wonder how much that rebuilt cost. Compared to a new purchase price?
i was told about half
awesome!! what was the final bill? If you don't mind.
a million would be my guess
What did this job cost?
Super masters!
What's the cost to rebuild as opposed to a new machine?
@William Underwood billions of trillions.
couldn't you find a bigger one?
Is this at Carter's place in Norton Va?
