I took a defensive driving course in high school. Imagine when you show up for the in-vehicle instruction with one of these. Now that would be some DEFENSIVE DRIVING. :) LOL
You mean tactical and evasive driving? (TED.)
Just found my daughter's first vehicle
haha It'll keep all but the bravest fellas away from her, that's for sure
Their nothing more scarier then a large military tank driving down the motor way with a red L plate on it while doing 70mph. The red L on the plate stands for leaner driver in some countries.
God help the poor drivers in your area...lol
Lol
Just found my father
🤣💪😃👍💯
Paint it light blue and paint “UN” symbol on the side, then sit back and watch people freak out
The UN vehicles are all white with black UN on the sides and top.
All Black and UN in white.
Where have you seen black vehicles with white UN markings?
Jeez no
You can get away with painting it white with blue lettering
Buy the one with dualies, a winch, and better tires.
Agreed
I was thinking the same thing.
I 100% agree, also lower for less tip overs
I'd buy the Dualit 2
And then upgrade it with extra storage compartments, water purifier and pump, fuel pump, shortwave tower, passive radar, FLIR, LED light arrays, custom grille guard (like the one Matt from Demo Ranch has), and some cage armor, because what's an MRAP without cage armor?
You should change the thumbnail to show the exterior of the vehicle
It's very space age looking.
I think the trans sounds like it is slipping a little. You are missing the crank handle and electric motor for the turret. The tires do need to be replaced they won't pass DOT. You also need to put DOT tape on the rear and up top if you expect to drive it on the road. It also sounds like you have a slight boost leak likely just a clamp. You may be able to run another set of wheels and tires in the rear you have to check the clearance. Exhaust will rot out but, in all honesty as long as it isn't leaking horribly, should be okay. The air brakes sounded slow to release, may need to be just driven or you have a small air leak. Doing an oil change on that is going to cost you a grand more then likely. I would recommend taking it to the best big rig dealer and have them do a PDI, DOT, and Wet PM on it. Basically tell them you want it looked over with a fine tooth comb. Also you are going to need a class b CDL to drive that and I would recommend going to a CDL school to get it. It will teach you a lot of things you will need to know and will also it is the easiest way to get the license. Some of them can teach you it accelerated in like 2-3 days but, you are not going to learn a lot just enough to pass the test. I am a A+ Diesel Technician and a Class A CDL holder. I also had hazmat for a while. If you have any questions feel free to hit me up on twitter @uberarchangel
Buy the one with dualies, a win h and better tires

Awesome advice... We need more people like you, sharing their knowdledge for a greater good! 👍👍
Thanks. Buddy 😊
Atlas MRAP. Sounds like a good business write off!
Awesome vehicle, just tell the state that it’s an RV.
Radical Vehicle.
Perfect over landing vehicles👍
Must be nice, we welded boxes to our Humvees and piled sandbags into them and laid kevlar blankets on our laps at the beginning of the war circa 2002-2004
They used Kevlar blankets in these as well, afaik.
@@deth3021 at least it wasnt a soft skin
@@ween4314 true, they alsp had the power to move around, even if they were very top heavy and have a real problem with spalling.
Yep I remember driving from Kuwait to Warrior, we had to take the side windows out and drop in cut out plates....'03-'04
@@thomasschultz5893 I was in Afghanistan in 03, iraq 04-05 we had to do the same thing. Were you in 10th mtn?
In an couple of months might need a MRAP just to commute to work in
Haha do you live near Minneapolis?
Trudeau- "you don't need an AR to hunt a deer"
Biden- "Just get a shottie man"
Atlas-
Ahahaha seems like we got the same interests buddy. Been following your channel for years and now I see you on this channel too. 😉👍
I changed the thumbnail just fir CP
Why am I not surprised that Ron bought one of these.. They’ve been on the surplus market for a little while. Congratulations! The history on these is really interesting, as they were built by Blackwater and submitted to the Army for MRAP contract evaluation. Ultimately they were not selected, and recently these were sold off. It was an amazing proof of concept and capability for a smaller firm.
WHERE CAN I GET ONE
@@aregularperson7573 there were a few on eBay..
I was a mechanic in the USMC ajd worked on the LAV(Light Armored Vehicle) . 14 ton and I loved it!
The one with dualie's and newer tires would be a better choice, license as an rv and avoid the cdl.
Even rv's in some states make you get a cdl to drive one check youre local laws
@@josephduggan6287 Hawaii is the only state that requires a cdl with an RV and it will have to weigh over 26000 lb some other states including Texas require only an upgraded license to cover that weight rating.
@@skylergardner2792 its easy to just google it yourself Hawaii is the only state requiring a CDL and only if over 26000 lbs. other states 11 states require an upgraded license (non CDL) if over 26000 lbs. Illinois requires upgrade and again not a CDL when over 16000 lbs. and a CDL alone doesn't include air brakes. air brake is a separate endorsement that you get added to a CDL or any class of drivers license,
if you plan to pull a large trailer in some states will require and upgraded license, to drive based on weight and total length NOT a CDL, A CDL is for commercial use. not private thats why on many rvs you will see a sticker in some location saying not for hire. indicating NOT a commercial vehicle
Whatever you buy .... paint it like a 70's hippie van, a 'love truck' of death lol
Just recognized the Blackwater logo on the steering wheel. Now we know for who they were made...
Murderers.

You're talking about the massacre in Nisour Square, Baghdad in September 2007 were Blackwater contractors were later convicted of killing 17 Iraqi civilians. That's why, since then, they changed their name three times. First it was Blackwater, after the 2007 event they changed to Xe Services LLC and after that, from 2010 to 2014 they called themselves Academi, were they changed their CEO again. Finally, from 2014 to present, they are called : Constellis Holdings. They are still mercenaries and SOME OF THEM are happy triggers killing local people, hurting the reputatation of contractors all around the world...
@@BrianR-ML no one knows what really happened that day except for the operators on the ground. You fucking keyboard warrior clowns think you can look something up on the internet and know the truth 100 percent of what happened. Sounds like they got ambushed by cowardly terrorists using their own people as concealment. Stfu if you weren’t there. Those men have been through hell.
@@hintoflimetostitochip7978 There's no medal thin enough to do not have two sides... I agree, I wasn't there and I'm not judging especially the people that were there on 2007, on both sides. But facts are facts and they were convicted of killing 17 Iraqi civilians... Ambushed or not. We all accept the consequences when we decide to wear an uniform. And please, refrain from insulting everybody freely on internet. You more look like the keyboard warrior to me than to an Operator with experience...
So it's been bloodbath tested! Blood doesn't gum up the drivetrain, skulls and bones don't damage the tires, and screaming women and kids can't be heard from inside the vehicle. 10/10 vehicle!
Imagine your kid taking this to his/her drivers license driving test at the DMV!
Instructor: You ain’t gonna parallel park that thing here!
Hold my juice box.
If you don't buy it you'll always wonder what it would've been like to own one.
Yep.
if i had the coin, she'd be mine for sure!
I want an L-ATV, but I can't justify it.
I like the look of the triple axle model myself.
You should buy the one with the twin dualies on the back, it can carry and haul more weight and pull a heavier trailer if needed. That’s what the second red air brake button is for.
That would be awesome! buy it Ron! HELL YEAH!
Definitely Buy It for yourself or buy it for me. I want one
I had a 1998 LMTV. The only thing I regretted about owning it was how difficult it was to find parts for it, as well as finding a shop to work on it and wasn’t intimidated by it.
I like it. Extreme bug out vehicle, if you can afford it you should get one.
I've added one to my wish list. Thanks for sharing , keep up the good work!
WOW That thing Dominates the road. I love it
Buy it immediately! Super cool truck brother!
Buy the lot. You can't have just one.
At some point, in my early 20s, I sand blasted and painted some of the bottom-hull and side armor plates. Not many would guess but they're sacrificial aluminum aloy.
Enjoy it. For sure.
It’s like Mad Max up in here. 😅
\m/ Hell Yeah LOL
Coordinating camo Mohawk required. For the cool factor.😎
Everyone should have an MRAP! I'm just sad I can't afford a muscle car so I can't dream as big as an MRAP. You are an unbelievably lucky guy, that's just awesome. Way to go!
The Right of the people to keep and bear tanks shall not be infringed!
Thank you for the great video. Sounds like fun all around. If only had the coin.
I have looked at a lot of MRAP's online and this is the first I have seen with the extra amour protection on the sides of the vehicle. This is a no-brainer. You should get this.
Besides, you being in the prepper business, this is a perfect demonstration of you walking the walk.
MAGA
Nice! I love my M923 5 ton..
I’d recommend an OSHKOSH manufactured one, with the 6 x 6 option. They can be found with seats for 6 to 10 passengers. This one would definitely be a fun toy, but the “COUGAR” is definitely better suited for your bug gout option.
They are great to have.
Ron, you are THE BEST DUDE!
Yes buy it
Yes get it
beautiful beast
Walk away, newness will wear off quick, better off with a HMMWV, thanks for the video.
Definitely a good find
Looks like fun.
Definitely get it with the way the country is going you may need it sooner than you might think
Do it !!! Man I’ll fly over to whatever part of the US and Help you decorate it I’m so for real , this summer I’ll help make it look good and tell you what you should get for the inside !!!!!!
Go for it. Lots of advertising space on the sides for some cool paint. You can even camp in it. Thank you.
I just wanted an up armored hmmwv until now...
I want one another fine video RONNIE MY MAN
Pump the old oil thru the dipstick. If you can get to the oil filter thru the hood, easy oil change.
Wow that looks like fun
Buy it definitely
AWESOME...
Yeah, I would also get the one with the dually and wench. I live just north of you in OK, I will have to come visit if you pick one up.
If im not mistaken the Grizzly started as a prototype looking for a contract with the US military but didnt end up getting it. However Black water used a few of them. The chassis is a GM Ron. They built them off a GM platform. Been thinking of converting one of my 6x6 to an armored rear personal/living quarters. Love the military rigs. Keep em coming. Ide definitely look into your local road laws. If your thinking about it.... being able to take it on public roads legally would be great. You might find something newer with more features. A 6x6 or 8x8 would be bennifical vs losing 1 tire in a 4x4 your going to be SOL. Maybe something with winches also. What about a custom M1070 w/ camper !?!? 😎💪🏼 the Rarity of Grizzly will also be difficult to find parts etc. Get something that the military actually used and that parts are readily available in most states. Stay away from the Grizzly imo & find something else unless the price is steal of deal maybe. I just think your to limited in them
i think you have given a new meaning to " boys and their toys ", who ever has the most money wins. have fun
So where's the matching camping trailer!!
It looks like it has some sort of spaced armour but it could do with some bar armour. Apart from the driver's seat there's only a single seat in the rear, definitely needs some more.
To change the oil, invest in an oil exchange pump, often found in marine chandlery suppliers. Used to pump the oil out of the engine. Either that, or have an engineering shop make a pipe that screws into the drain plug, and runs through a gap or a cut hole in the armour plates. Would cost a bit initially, but your aren’t actually going to war in it.
You'd need an MRAP if you lived in PA. Love to have one. Awesome video 😀
It's awesome, buy it 😀. My husband has a jeep that has light armour in the doors. It needs a lot of restoration......We cannot afford an MRAP or else we would have one. Take it to the next riot😀
I think you should buy it and have fun
Oh my I wish I was a millionaire 😂
smart choice wish we all had the money to do this.
Next time you come to Georgia for an install let me know!! Would love to meet you and hang out. BTW This is totally freaking awesome
And both of the vehicles you were looking at are both Have duly axles one just has 1 set on which is 7 10 has all theWheels and tires
To the mechanic Thank you for your service
It would be a power trip to drive that up here in canada
Gratz on ur purchase loving ur mrap and great car for crash safety if a semi rear ends u at 70mph you won't get killed
That'll blend in nicely without drawing attention...
Well in you like this Beast you would loved the my favorite Tank i drove during my Time in the German Army called "Luchs" (Lynx).
It was a 8×8 reconnaissance Tank, could drive in both Directions at full Speed ( 56mph or 90kmph) because of the two drivers and was amphibious.
The fuel tanks are like open season,3/8th side panels couldn't hurt, hand crank or haudralic,is water depth matters, should come with a set of spair tires mounts.
So what you thought was ac controls in the back area. It’s probably not. What your looking at is headphone jacks for a truck commander to talk with his or her people within the truck.
Keep building
Definitely buy it.
Buy it!! That thing is awesome!
That hydraulic fitting on the front above the bumper is probably for adding fresh oil and the old can be drained out the small opening
Just in time!
I would love to have one of those, like you said why not.
Awesome !!!!......
in a few months, these will be in great demand
Go for it!
There is a killswitch for the instrument cluster to drive under nods from what I can remember
I need to start shopping around for one
God bless you, only in America!!!!!!
Wow, I'd love to ride in that... 😎
This should be the next giveaway
I was thinking the same thing..
George Washington and 338 (as in Lapua).
I agree with PJF...go with the dually and winch version.
That vehicle sounds really good engine wise
I remember Blackwater/Academi made and MRAP that didnt meet DOD standards and abandoned it, but a few were made. They float around and look similar, if not the same as this.
You need to lift the floor up to see what is in there looks like there is a big storage
I would check on if it comes with maintenance manuals, if not I would price them out before buying.
I need 1 of those!!!
Best quote from the whole video......"You really gotta learn to drive one of these ?!" Umm, yeah, you do LOL......
Now that cool
Plz do so we can live vicariously through you
❤ I think I would go with one that has 2 rear axels. They both are drive axels. I was wondering if the fuel tanks are vulnerable to puncher from a 50 cal?
If I could afford one, I'd keep it hidden in a bunker on remote property, where I'd have a bunker complex for me and a few close personal friends - who would never show up because they think I'm crazy for worrying about TEOTWAWKI. Cé la Vie.
Building a bunker and buying survival stuff is the second thing I will do because buying a company is first on my list for when I hit the lotto or get a mega sum of cash somehow. Until then I am just gonna be broke as fuck, at a dead end job tht I can't escape because nobody will hire a white male now if I leave this one.
Oh lord I wish I had one
Buy, Buy, Buy!
Sick
Very nice video!
Permit. I'm going to share it in my Facebook Blog Max s Preparacionismo.
thanks Again For Sharing. ..BUY THE MRAP
