I have autism so many of my childhood fears stemmed from sensory issues. Example: the Space Mountain ride at Disney. I went on it with my dad when I was about eight(?) not knowing what I was in for. In short; loud, dark, fast. All triggers of my autism. Needless to say, by the time the ride ended I was traumatized so much that to this day it is the one roller coaster I will not go on. But mom did not understand that because during that SAME VACATION, she dragged me back to it thinking that I just needed to ride it again to get over my new fear. By the time we were halfway through the line, I was ready to blow and mom knew she needed to get me out ASAP. She never tried to put me on a ride I didn't want to be on again after that.

For me, I'd say that my fears as a kid mostly focused on loud noises, like Rebecca. Balloons, in particular, I was always wary about. Though perhaps one of my oddest fears when I was young was the Quaker Oats man. Legit, I remember having a nightmare once in which it was just him marching with that uncanny smiling face of his. I also highly disliked looking at his face on the boxes, so I usually kept them turned away from me so I didn't have to see him.

One of my most hated rides is The Pirate Ship. The reason? When you end up feeling both your front and back being pushed by a giant swing that you aren't in control of, while having asthma, and hearing two others right next to you.... Emotional BREAKDOWN.

Your story about riding your first coaster, reminds me of my sister. It was one of the big ones at knott's berry farm. She was literally saying "I wanna get off! I wanna get off!" the whole way up the first hill, only to then ask to ride again afterwards. XD

Only fears I had in childhood were dolls and sports stadiums.
My grandparents collected a lot of dolls....a lot. First time I visited them out of state, I was greeted by a literal army of dolls. Covering the walls on many shelves, taking up all the space on the couches, coffee tables, and even the ground up to a few feet from each wall and furniture. And there were more. Almost every room was like that. I felt all of them watching me. After the tour, my parents left to let me stay the night and spend time with my grandparents. It took everything I had to not scream and cry cause I wanted so much to be with them and was looking forward to it for weeks. Only in two rooms did I feel safe: the Betty Boop kitchen, and the Daffy Duck guest room I stayed in. Everything in these rooms were branded with their respected characters and I focused on learning about them from my grandparents to distract myself from the dolls. And before bed, I'd watch Jurrassic Park twice so the raptors could protect my dreams.
As for stadiums, I have autism and being in a large, new place, full of loud people, and forced to spend several hours watching something I didn't care about didn't sit right with me. But the final nail was when extremely loud music started blaring and eveyone got louder as a giant clam with legs ate a man and spat him out in his underwear and proceeded to chase him around the field. Too much chaos for young me to handle.

I love the zero-g feeling of a roller-coaster, but I will say that it is because of that feeling that I've never I've never, *never,* *NEVER* raised my arms, nor felt a single microinstant of temptation to do so XD

As a kid, maybe 4-5 years old, I would sometimes get scared when the wind sounded like it was howling, especially when I was trying to get to sleep.
My Grandpa had a kinda messed up way, not curing the fear, but getting me to put up with it.
One night me and my little brother had been sleeping over at our grandparents' place.
The wind was howling REALLY loudly and I was terrified.
3 times I'd gotten up and gone to their room, only to be told "it's the wind" and sent back to bed.
4th Time though, Grandpa had had enough so he took me outside, holding the front door open and threatened to leave me outside the rest of the night.
Shut me up, I went back to bed and cried myself to sleep.
Didn't help with the fear of the howling wind, but did help me get to sleep.
    Thanks, Grandpa RIP.

i never really had any major childhood fears that really haunted me on a regular basis i dont think...they just started showing up once i hit late-teens/adulthood :')
One of my biggest ones right now is i cannot sleep without there being some source of light (even if its a miniscule amount) in the room thats enough for me to kind of see the layout of the room, because one of my biggest worries is about someone breaking in, and especially stalkers.
One of my other ones is a bit more irrational, but im afraid of stepping on a drain one day and it falling out from underneath me, but it's diminished a decent amount in the past few months, thankfully

I'm still somewhat nervous about dark rooms or being alone and someone potentially being at the other end of our house where I wouldn't be able to see them entering the house until they were inside ready to attack me just on the other side of the door. But, that's why I now have a dog. which helps make things easier to handle in regards to mental health.

I'm scared of heights, going upside down, storms being strong enough to destroy houses, the idea of traveling in space, being forced underwater, spiders/centipedes/milipedes long thin legs, bees, being alone, being yelled at or someone raising their voice, jump scares, some horror movies, being outside at night alone, getting hurt, needles or shots, any talk about human injuries or inside injuries or any inside stuff, blood, most bugs except for butterflys/beeflys/ladybugs/fireflys/moths/caterpillars, mice or rats if they run towards me, sudden random noises in the night

To be psycho. I have something similar to my man Nic, which is still with me kinda. Where that would be the darkness inside buildings. Because whenever it’s dark in a building or my bedroom without a lick of light I just have the inner thought that a person or spirit would surprise attack me or do anything in surprise on me, which I think could be understandable. But for new ones I kinda got the fear of super high heights when I was doing downhill Luging at the area in my city where it had the Winter Olympics back in 1988.

The only fear I had since childhood were horror movies and storms, nowadays it is just heights and storms but only at night because you can't see how bad the weather is and it does leave you nervous of what might happen at night. Horror movies I got over thanks to watching Dead Meat and replace by heights that I didn't know I had until 2018 or 19 my sister took me up to the Space Needle in Gatlinburg and I would say about somewhere between 50 to 100 feet I just... start trembling when I look outside and bend over and it took me a while til we got up to the platform. Now this only works if my feet are off the ground like if I took a plane and it took off, I'll be clinging to the chair until there's ground for this too happen

I use to think if I looked at trees to long there'd be a tornado. Reasoning me and my cousins lived out in the woods of Kentucky and we'd see who could stare at a tree the longest we played that game twice and a tornado hit both times in county's around ours and we never played that again thinking if we did a third time the tornado would happen were we lived.

I hate roller coasters too. That might be because my first experience of going on a roller coaster was going to Six Flags on the fucking superman so that was fucking terrified and it was for a class trip too so they wanted to go on it. I was like OK let’s go it was fucking terrifying to be honest. and I can still go on them it’s just like it’s just not gonna be fun. I’m going to be closing my eyes the whole time.

I’m deathly afraid of needles like I cannot be near a needle I cannot do needles. I hate it so much. It drives me fucking insane that I can’t handle needles and also I’m deathly afraid of going underwater, and that might be because of when I almost drowned when I was a child and I almost died thank God for my own for saving me so that might be and I don’t remember it. I think that’s why it’s scarred me from going underwater like I can handle water but when I have to go underwater, that’s when I don’t like it that’s why I don’t jump off to go into the water.

Ok, don't make fun of me, but one of my Childhood Fears
    .... were the Bratz Dolls
Now it was a Specific Circumstance that Created this Fear.
I was watching TV, I think I was 8, so this was 2003 or so, and an Ad for the Bratz Movie came on, but for Some reason a specific part of the Trailer kept Looping, like, a 2 1/2 Second long Clip, kept Looping for what felt like 5 Minutes! And I was getting uncomfortable!
I tried changing the Channel, the Remote wasn't working, I tried using the Buttons on the TV Itself, wasn't working not even the Power Button, I even tried to Move the Cabinet to Unplug the TV, didn't work!
And later that night, I had a Nightmare. It was a Chase Nightmare (guess who was Chasing me), that Song was Looping, and it all took place in a Thunderstorm (the Dream)!
I woke up in a cold Sweat!
