This is exactly the video I have been searching for. I have been looking at this table for awhile now although I do have the option to go traditional table.
Those Supreme Winners are a Beatiful Table. We have the same Tables at our Club and they are awesome. Do you notice any difference between the standard Triangle Chalk and the Pro version? I looked at a block of Taum chalk the other Day and wondered if they warrant such a big price Tag. Especially when I apply Chalk between every Shot. I figured it wouldn't benefit me as I would be applying it too often and wasting money. What's your thoughts?
I'll be honest with you, I've never tried the Taom chalk but at around £15 a piece I don't think I'm likely to! I just don't see how a piece of chalk can warrant being that expensive. Having said that I know a lot of people insist it's really good, but I think it would have to be incredible at that price! I do find the Pro version better than the standard Triangle chalk but again it's only a marginal thing. I am terrible at remembering to chalk especially when I'm on a roll and clearing up the balls. I find the Pro triangle chalk just holds that little longer and gives me maybe an extra shot or two that I might have miscued with the standard. However if you chalk between every shot, which you should do, again I'm not sure how great the benefits are.
Any idea of how often you should clean the Pro Cup Balls had them for a couple of months but was told you don’t need to clean them that often, but they’re quite dirty now and have ordered some ball cleaner to get that shine back.
Hard to say, really depends how much you play. You certainly don't want to over clean them with the ball cleaner though. Sometimes just a quick polish with a cloth will keep the shine longer inbetween a thorough clean with the ball cleaner.
Yeah that's an old video, they're on the other side of the room now I've re-decorated. Like you say my expensive cue is safely in it's case, those are just my kids cues and rest.
I noticed you have an 11"/14" telescopic extension in your case. Do you play snooker at all, or is this purely for pool? Would you recommend a small telescopic extension in addition to a 6" mini butt for pool?
When I bought the cue a few years back the guy who made it said it was a good cue for pool and snooker. However I’ve not played snooker as much as I’d intended to and ended up just playing pool. I’ve never used the telescopic extension and think I’ve used the mini butt once. Handy but very rare that you need it.
Hi mate. I’ve noticed you’ve had both a supreme winner table and a pool dining table. Did they play the same or do you find the supreme winner to play better? Or did they play similar?
The Supreme Winner is a far better table and plays much better. The dining table was good but not in the same league. It just lacked the sturdiness of the supreme.
i bought a dinning table pool table similar to your in the video and they just dont play the same as supreme winner table and will probably go down the same route as the video maker in time
DDGAMING yeah, they’re still good tables and certainly useful if you need both a pool table and somewhere to sit, but they’re just not as solid as a supreme. Can’t wait for mine to arrive!!
Question: would a 9.5mm tip be okay fa english pool? currently have a snooker which i play english pool in a charity league team fa the local social club, i also play snooker. This cue isn't mine, so it isn't personal, i'm getting a new one with a bigger tip 9.5mm, the current tip is around the 8-8.5. Have a trouble contacting the cue ball full, sometimes giving unintentional side. I tried a cue wi a 9-10mm tip, and had a confident hold, and better control of the reaction i got from the cue ball, and my positional play went within the desired area.
For this form of pool yes. A snooker cue may have a slightly bigger tip, but not much. You wouldn’t use a snooker cue for American pool though because the balls are much bigger and heavier so you would need a thicker cue with a larger tip.
Turbo gig Woof I’ve never really thought about it to be honest. I’ve tried to teach my son but that’s about it. Yes that’s where my cue is from. He was in Southend when I bought mine but think he’s in Basildon now. I’m in Ipswich.
Hey, love the videos, keep them coming. I have a question about your new cloth now you've had it for a while. I've had my table for around a year and found that I have burn marks from the racked balls following breaks, did you find this with your old cloth and is the Strachan superfine looking more durable? Thanks
cp30chap Thank you. It’s inevitable with all cloths unfortunately. With my old Hainsworth Precision cloth that definitely got burn marks quicker than any other cloth I’ve had, but then it was a very fine cloth. The new Strachan Superfine does seem to be fairing much better but I can still see marks starting to appear under the lead ball of the rack and where I place the cue ball. I usually replace my cloth around every 18mths but it really comes down to how much use the table gets.
@@PoolSchool thanks, that's helpful. When I'm racking the balls and carefully remove the triangle the balls sometime fall apart a fraction and I have to replace the triangle and slightly move the rack and try again and see if they stay in contact, have you had this, do you know if that's also related to the burn marks and the little areas where to balls want to roll towards? Cheers again
cp30chap yes it’s exactly that and get the same myself. I usually just shift the whole rack forward a back a touch. It does the trick and also means you’re wearing out those spots a little less. The rack might not be “perfectly positioned” but doesn’t matter too much when your just practicing.
I had a Hainsworth smart on my very first table and to be honest with you I found it very heavy and slow. After that I upgraded to a Hainsworth precession. This was really fast and a much better cloth. Only problem I had with that is that because it was so fine it marked easily. I now have a Strachan superfine which again is pretty fast but seems to be a little harder wearing. If you wanted something more hard wearing and even faster then the new Simonis 861 is supposed to be pretty good although I’ve not tried it and it is a speed cloth (so no nap).
Pool School Thanks for the reply. I thought the Simonis was an American cloth or does it work well for British 8 ball also ? Also which do you personally prefer between superfine and precision?
Yes it’s like the American speed cloth but it’s what they use on the IPA tour now. Like I say, not tried it myself. Out of the superfine and precision I prefer the superfine, the precision was great but just didn’t last long enough.
I'm not 100% sure because it was all included in the price of the new table. I think compared to the standard cloth that came with the table I had to pay about another £125 for the Strachan superfine. I had my old table re-clothed with a Hainsworth Precision a few years ago and that cost me £180, which also included the cost of the fitter.
Pool School but because u are good at position I think people would expect u to get position so because u have cut it they probably think you had got position

We have the same cue!! Great quality!!

@@PoolSchool Ok thanks, I'll try it out! Keep up the content btw! Improved my game loads since watching your videos.
I noticed your cues are stored near the radiator. Are they likely to warp? Although I suspect you keep your personal cue in its case!
Yeah that's an old video, they're on the other side of the room now I've re-decorated. Like you say my expensive cue is safely in it's case, those are just my kids cues and rest.

Hi mate hope all is good. What’s your thoughts of using a iron to nap the table. You used one.?
Yeah I used a standard household iron and it works fine. Just make sure it's not too hot and mot importantly doesn't have any moisture/steam in it!
Do you have a cover for your 7x4 winner?
No. I just brush it regularly
Hi mate. I’ve noticed you’ve had both a supreme winner table and a pool dining table. Did they play the same or do you find the supreme winner to play better? Or did they play similar?

What about the camera you use? Also, how do you mount the camera to record the table? Love your vids
Thank you. I just use my iPhone. I have a simple tripod amzn.to/2lfEEDm and then a little adapter to hold the phone amzn.to/2mgzdV9

Yes it should be fine. I use a 9mm tip. Like you say a smaller tip can give you unintentional side if your curing is not perfectly straight.
Pool School, Thank You, for the input.
Keep putting up the vids and i'l keep learning.
Teacher can I ask can u use a snooker cue on the 8ball game?

Feels bad that i have a small tip
