Well you see there is a whole tactic about ping . You ping when necessary, with Gato you don’t ping at all(because you don’t need it and the moment you do - you go to port.). With U-4501 you use ping as bait and in fear inflicting tactics. You play subs from stealth, you plan your route and time you can attack your enemies, you should watch where they swim (will they be under island protection or not). The reaction of your opponents to ping can differ: 1.panic - they turn around and swim away, 2.aggression - they point you on the map and gang you up with bombs with help of their teammates, 3.smart: use hydro, then radar and then swim towards you to get to 3.0 kilometers, so you can deal 1% damage and then they drop bombs and you go to port. Conclusion: ping only when necessary, and first you launch your torpedoes and then ping after few seconds at least or try to ping when your torpedoes are at 4 kilometers near your supposed target. Spread your torpedoes in patterns, don’t launch them in one go in most situations(better one hit than zero hit), time launches so they put your targets at position when they need to show their broadside to your teammates(by that you put them in tough position when they need to choose what slap 👋 they will take). Hi, why doesn't he use the sonar ping function? is this a pro thing, or am I missing something? I just recently got my first U - 69.
Because it leaves a trace, so the enemy have a clue where you are. If you don’t need it, don’t use it
With gato the sonar ping trop only goes 6km, since you want to use the traditional trop you won't need the ping.
long story short: Because it leaves pig tail in water by which they can pull you out of there🤭
