The 1483 is hands down the best best sounding amp I've every used. Digital effects through this amp are warm and glorious. Toured for years with the 1438 running into a Silvertone 2x12 cab in tandom with a Randall 80w solid state.
I had one of these, bought new. I never liked it for a bass amp because of the crunch which wasn't the desired bass tone in the 60's. Couldn't wait to sell it and never thought of running a six string through it. Last I knew it was still alive and well in my uncles living room. I guess the joke is on me now.
i just tried one of these out at a local shop and totally fell in love. i think it's my favorite amp i've ever played. it has so much character, and i found it so fun just plugging into it. i hope to save up to get one for myself! i was considering the Fender Vibro Champ Reverb, and still like that amp because of the built-in reverb and vibrato, but this 1483 just made a huge impression on me! my only concern is it may be overkill for my usage (at home playing), but who knows maybe i'll start jamming with people if I keep progressing in my guitar journey!
I have one of these that a lady gave me about 20 years ago. I didn't think it was much of anything but an old catalog brand, but then I happened to look it up recently and found out it is worth quite a bit and is actually a sought-after amp. I now have it in the shop and getting repaired. Too bad the cabinets are almost impossible to find.

I have a 1483 and I might be letting it go to a new home I never use it but they do sound good.

The Weber ferro max really woke up my 1483. Best Match for the Jensen but much better.
