The issue isn't that Amber was mad, but that she already knew. Otherwise, her anger would have been sympathized with more. Why wasn't she honest instead, considering Mark had to hide it?
Woot! Another invincable episode! Love this show. While i certainly don't agree with Amber, I don't get all the Amber hate. She is young just like Mark. Both are in the wrong, and i don't necessarily think the show is saying she is in the right , just that Mark is also in the wrong.
I used to be mad at Amber, because I assumed that she was holding a grudge against Mark over a few specific disappointing events we saw in the series. That seems unfair, especially in light of Mark’s responsibilities. But then I realized that Eve and William also saw Mark as having been an asshole to Amber, and their opinions were based on five months of observations. So now I think the story did a bad job of explaining Amber’s grievance, which I have to forgive, because I definitely don’t think the story should spend more time explaining Amber’s grievance. EDIT: Come to think of it, a thirty second montage of “This is what it’s like to date Mark for five months” might actually have been pretty great.

People have become so entitled nowadays. Attaching words like 'gaslighting' and 'betrayal' over the smallest of things. To boil down the whole 'Superhero juggling 2 lives' to Mark being the sh*tty one is absolutely bonkers. Why are you Westerners like this? Why do you all feel so entitled to everything? Mark and Amber has been dating for like a month or two but fine, let's say a year. Can you honestly think everyone can make the decision of marriage? Because telling your Secret Identity means you are marrying your partner or at least it's a Family or a very Close Friend. As for the calling this 'gaslighting', let's flip the script. Amber knew about Mark being Invincible for who knows how long and rather than confront him about it, she would flip out of him over his superhero duties. Basically not only was she lying to him, berating him for reasons she knew but also manipulating him into revealing his identity as she said she was waiting for him to tell it himself. Amber knowingly was doing all this disgusting stuff while Mark was doing what any logical person with superhero powers would do with a person they met and know for like a year only.
As far as we've seen Mark never calls to tell he is going to late, never tries to push any date or anything, he just show up late and expects to be forgiven because he does nice things. Consider this: if you were dating a cop (which is also a dangerous job that revolves around saving lives) and he/she was never around, always working, showing up late and never telling you anything about his/her private life would you really want to continue this relationship? Of course he was saving lives but that doesn't excuse him being absent. Amber said she discover his secret a few weeks before, but she was waiting to see if Mark was going to tell her. So she probably discover after the whole Battle Beast incident and never argue with Mark because he lost the community service. There is nothing maniputative about that. Amber was extremely selfish and stupid but people forgive everything Mark did wrong just because he is the main character. Both of them were wrong.
@@gabrieldossantos1116 "Of course he was saving lives but that doesn't excuse him being absent" ^^^ The level of ignorance and entitlement in this statement. To expect a call from a Superhero / Cop / Soldier while they are actively doing their job is something only Western Spoiled kids can say. And I am not talking about when they are relaxing because there is a scene actually in Invincible where while Mark is being attacked, he is telling Amber he is gonna be late on the phone so you are wrong about Mark never calling. But do you expect Mark to call Amber while getting his chest blown open by ThunderCat? I think the writers knows the kind of demographics Amber will attract. Minor Spoilers: Good, if this goes according to the comics, Amber is gonna become a sad pathetic cr@ackhead while Mark has a loving family with Eve.

After Invisible, you guys must react to Primal, an animated series on HBO that is very good. Season 2 starts in late July so you will have 2 seasons of great storytelling and animation. The best reactors on YT. Take care.
Hilarious to hate on the solciers for shooting. They literally did their best and succesfully accomplished an impossible situation. If they had swords you would think they were badass. But tell me what they should have done.
I can see two things with Amber : 1. It's just poor writing. We could see a definitive shift in her attitude in episode 6 and it continued here. It doesn't exactly feels like the Amber we were presented at the begining. 2. It's a bit more complex than that. If she said anything, there's no way to be sure that Mark wouldn't have gaslighted her. Plus, she wanted to let Mark chose if he wanted to let her in or not, not force his hand. But then, there were only 2 options. Either Mark tells her, and she could be comprehensive about the fact that he's always late or busy, discuss her fears/anxiety on the subject with him, etc. (like Deb with Omniman), or he doesn't tell her and wants to keep her out, but then he should be treating this relationship correctly, and make effort to be on time/present, and try to prevent his Superhero "job" to interfere in that. Until now, she just had the 2 worts part of it : Being in a relationship with somebody unavailable because he's a superhero, but also not being able to talk about it with this person.
Why is the comment section hating on Amber? wtf? Mark was a bad boyfriend all throughout their relationship. She forgave him for messing up multiple times and he never changed his behaviour. If he knew he couldnt keep his settlement he should just finish the relationship instead of keeping her hanging everytime. If you choose something over another you have to deal with the consequences. Choosing his work over Amber was the right thing, but had the consequence of breaking her trust and leaving her abandoned and not cared for. She doesnt need to just accept and let herself be treated like that forever even if she understands his profession. If that was the last straw then thats it.
You´re not wrong, Mark was bad, but... If Amber knew (like she said she did), then it comes off as Amber toying with Mark. Blaming him and threatening to break up, only to "graciously" accept him back. Then basically forcing him to reveal/admit his secret identity, only to brush him off like it meant nothing. @@johnyshadow but I think she only discovered this recently, didn't she? Overall, I´ll write it off as dumb teenagers being dumb, and wait for season 2 to resolve it. But yes, we can definitely agree on the last part. If she was unhappy in the relationship, they should have broken up ages ago. And Mark should have taken the hint...
Great Reaction!! But it’s funny and common how Mark gets a pass for lying, and stringing Amber along for months but her faults are deeply analyzed deeply. Shouldn’t criticism be balanced out….Mark’s friend and Eve both gave balanced in their observation, but most reviewers become biased in their analysis. Again great reaction, just an overall observation.
How Mark's friends have balanced observations if the showrunners try to push this narrative that Mark was wrong all along when it was not the case? Most people problems with this isn't Amber's reaction per say, it's more frustration with how the show puts all the blame on Mark when its obviously more nuanced than that.
That's just it though. The show is critical of Mark's choices through other characters. Likewise part of the story itself is him trying to figure out how to balance his life, and he has failed numerous times. It isn't so much Mark getting a pass as Amber assuming she has right to know deeply personal things at this point in their relationship. That is her view on relationships and I wouldn't have an issue with it except for her actions and choices in episode 8. It is near a night and day response. I understand Amber's character is very different in the comics so this may be an adaptation failure by the writers. Or maybe the writers just wanted to quickly tie up the conflict. However her response when she first meets Mark in episode 8 is not in line (trying to avoid spoilers) with her feelings and choices in episode 7. I think even you have to admit it is a 180 that discredits why she was upset with Mark because none of those causes actually changed in episode 8, as far as their relationship.
@@charlese2714 Amber isn’t mad that Mark didn’t reveal that he’s Invincible. Amber’s mad that Mark knew he was too busy being Invincible to avoid standing her up, and kept standing her up anyway for five months.

Amber is cool and she's not wrong. I'm a bit worried about y'all's relationships in the comments if you think lying to your girlfriend for a month is ok
It honestly annoys me so much how few people who react to this take Mark’s side. She treated like shit for being late while knowing for WEEKS. She knew he was choosing saving lives, and getting seriously injured while he does so, over being on time and STILL basically gaslit him. Destroyed his fucking confidence and self-worth, and then got mad at him for “lying” instead of outing himself IN PUBLIC as a super hero. Show Amber pisses me off so much. She is SUCH a piece of shit, and even worse, they make Mark’s friend act like HE was the one being a bad partner. They even have Amber be some ultra altruist in the show (cuz gods forbid she be a normal high school girl like in the comics. Can’t have that) and then have her act like THAT. Clearly she’s doing the altruistic shit to feel superior, not because she cares for human lives and making a difference.
That Amber scene with the "i know you're a superhero, i'm not an idiot" actually ruined Amber for me, I was on board with what you guys were saying about how the relationship was rocky but she had every reason to be upset considering what she knew, Mark really looked like an irresponsable boyfriend, but if she KNEW HE WAS SAVING FUCKING LIVES and she KNOWS WHY SECRET IDENTITIES ARE A THING!! then WHAT THE FUCK!?!? this means when that one guy kidnapped william and almost killed an entire campus Amber saw Mark put the invincible suit on and save everybody almost at the expense of his life yet she still gave him shit for it (at this time she must have known considering she said she's known for weeks) also, she was mad beacuse "he lied to her" by not telling her he's invincible, again. she's not stupid(supposedly) so she must know why he didn't and why its smart not to, and even if it is not a great idea to tell a popular girl who's on a rocky relationship with you and who almost hates your guts your secret identity, he DID IT ANYWAYS if that's not trust i don't know what is.... Amber was an asshole i don't care Even William was a bit of a douche, yeah, Mark has super powers. he's had them for a month or so. tell me you would have done better in his position, give him a break
I don't know guys, I agree with Amber. When they were starting to date Eve did say to Mark to make sure that he was all-in with her before telling her everything. Him not doing it until the situation got unsustainble kind of proves that he wasn't all-in, at least not as much as Amber was. She was head over heels for him and he lied and no-showed his way out of the relationship. I really don't think Amber is at fault here.
No she wasn't because if she was she would've told him that she knew. Instead of watching him scramble. Also being all in doesn't mean telling all your family and work secrets. Eve didn't even tell anyone her secret identity, but she expected mark to tell his high school gf ? Na.
People who have never been serially lied to or gaslit cannot empathise with Amber and that's a damn shame considering how much Mark has gaslit Amber. It boggles my mind how anyone can make her out to be the bad guy for trying to get out of a situation she felt disrespected in.
I was sort of immediately emotionally on Amber's side after I first watched the series, after mulling it over and seeing some genuine criticism I can now sort of see both sides. But honestly, the enormous backlash against Amber on the internet, often if not most of the times steeped in a lot of not-so-subtle racism and sexism, now makes me sort of instinctively want to defend her. Like, I can see where some people are coming from when they say that she wasn't being entirely fair but a lot of people are just so over the top, characterizing her as the villain or something, it just reminds of the backlash against Skyler from Breaking Bad. And unfortunately, it's just not a coincidence that the internet's most vicious backlash is most often reserved for women, especially women of color.

Even said this to Mark when Mark told Eve that maybe he should tell Amber about his identity. That is when Eve said this, not because Mark wanted to date or be serious with Amber but because he was ready to say who he was. In actuality Eve was saying to not tell Amber unless Mark was 100% in with Amber as in Partners for life.
@@lengors7327 Exactly! If you have a secret that prevents you from entering a relationship then you should either tell or simply not be in a relationship. I don't understand why that's so hard for some people. If I was secretly a fugitive and that was putting my family in danger the right thing to do would be to leave them, not keep them around in constant danger just because.
Amber did nothing wrong and I will not stand for this slander. She has a boyfriend treating her like garbage who doesn't respect her enough to tell her that he's a superhero (he doesn't even need to reveal which one) so that they can plan their relationship around the challenges that presents. He's insulting her intelligence by not being honest, because, as we see here, she had already figured it out weeks before things came to a head.
But why didn’t she confront mark long ago? If she knew? Why create all this drama? and plus how you expect mark to tell a girl he barley started dating? He didn’t even tell his best friend he was Invincible
Her not knowing who Mark is is intended to protect her. People get fucking killed in this show all the time, and Amber is just a regular bloodbag human like all the others that get killed every day before Mark's eyes. You know, the regular humans that this show likes to pop like blood-pinatas by the dozens? This is what humans are to Mark, so maybe it's understandable if he doesn't want the girl he loves ending up as a smear of red like all the rest. If Amber was really this intelligent she'd know just how lethal just existing near super powered individuals is. If she was really intelligent she'd have left Mark the moment she realized he was Invincible.
It is a high-school relationship. Of course he doesn't know if he's serious about her. Mark trying to figure out what he wants and how to balance everything is one of the core conflicts of the show. Amber is asking for a level of honesty she didn't offer by sitting on the fact she knew he was a superhero. So she is upset about the lie she enabled. I am not saying Mark shouldn't be held to account for his choices. Just that she also made immature choices for reasons that don't seem to matter one episode later. She was a pretty good character until the last two episodes.
@@Zireael08 Why is it her fault that Mark can't recognize how poorly he's treating her? She's well within her rights to expect him to not treat her like trash, and why would anyone want to be with a partner that takes months to realize when their shitty behavior is unacceptable? Mark is making mistakes because he's a teenager but it's not Amber's responsibility to fix them for him. She's made it clear many times that what he's doing is messed up. She doesn't feel loved or respected and regardless of external circumstances, she's under no obligation to stay in a relationship with him If you've ever been with a closeted partner you know how awful this dynamic is on both ends
@@Clovericious I mean you're just basically just saying that no one should ever date a superhero. Which I guess would be an easy solution. Hey the moment you suspect your partner is a superhero you should leave them immediately or you're a bad person. Like, what?? And even in that instance wouldn't it be Mark's fault for going into a relationship where he should know that he's putting the other person in danger? Sure, it would be optimal for Amber to have told him what she suspected. That would have been the smartest choice. But the onus still isn't on her to do so. If my significant other was a cop (dangerous job and saving lives, just to have a parallel) and didn't tell me for five months I would be pretty heartbroken. I would understand, but it would still hurt being lied to for soo long. I think both of them have a point but people act as if Amber was a demon for some reason
@@gabrieldossantos1116 Can we just agree that neither of them handled things correctly?
@@jrcarter9175 Yeah I think that's the point, neither of them knew how to handle the relationship. I think the writers intended them to break up in a way that neither of them would be hated but apparently people can't see Amber's side of the story
The Amber thing always gets me I understand her until that scene then I’m like NOPE BIG NOPE
Ange is so calm talking about the murder of a fictional character like Yeah man Omni Man is going to throw his Taylor off the roof and Carlie is looking at him with Frustration. Epic XD
The issue isn't that Amber was mad, but that she already knew. Otherwise, her anger would have been sympathized with more. Why wasn't she honest instead, considering Mark had to hide it?
They seem to have forgotten that the "Robot" that did the shady stuff is dead.
6:45 the best part 😂
Only gripe is Amber going from super upset and angry at mark even after she's figured it out to being all okay with it

The next episode is my favorite!!!!! It's sooo gooooood.
Next episode should be a good one
@@MonstrousEthicist Dont get me wrong, I dont think the show did a good job about showing the relationship, but I think thats more on the budget of the show ( look at the shitty cgi background characters for some of the episodes loool) not being able to show everything it wanted to

Not all of us Westerners are like that, but yeah, people are privileged as fuck over here.
@@gabrieldossantos1116 "Of course he was saving lives but that doesn't excuse him being absent"
^^^ The level of ignorance and entitlement in this statement.
Minor Spoilers:
Good, if this goes according to the comics, Amber is gonna become a sad pathetic cr@ackhead while Mark has a loving family with Eve.
@@rikumajumder1558 You keep calling me spoiled western kid, but you don't even know where I live or where I came from. You're the one looking like a total jerk accusing someone of being spoiled for no reason at all, at no point I disrespected you.
Let me explain my point once more, if my loved one was a police officer and she suddenly disappeared from my life without telling me anything, wouldn't I have the right to be mad at her? "Oh but she was saving someone bla bla bla" ok, thats a good reason to be absent, but just because she has a good reason doesn't mean I can't feel hurt for not being included and basically being treated as if my opinion didn't matter.
You would think since invincible was defeated by Battle beast they would track him down and get beast to fight Omni man

today o tomorrow i hope to see episode 8 ❤️
Yep very soon!
Hilarious to hate on the solciers for shooting. They literally did their best and succesfully accomplished an impossible situation. If they had swords you would think they were badass. But tell me what they should have done.
I can see two things with Amber :
16:00 too much attack on titan lmao
23:25 wrong. Its ALWAYS the time to take it out on amber
SPOILER:
And then she comes crawling back at the end of the season
@@johnyshadow but I think she only discovered this recently, didn't she? And I don't think what she did is toying, more like waiting for a change, giving him another chance, and getting tired of it, again and again. I think she should have broken up with him ages ago. All this wishing for him to be better was dumb of her part...
@@SweetLitzLM Over-analyzing shows is weird. :D Some people can make Amber a saint and mark literally the worst. I bet I could try and make her a scheming evil mastermind/villain if I tried hard enough. (Which I won´t, it´s 3 past midnight for me.) Overall, I´ll write it off as dumb teenagers being dumb, and wait for season 2 to resolve it.
@@MonstrousEthicist yup that part
@@MonstrousEthicist Amber specifically says they are fighting because he lied to her and didn't trust her. Of course she would be upset at how unreliable he has been in regards to her. However the main issue is him keeping his superhero identity a secret. Otherwise she would be mad at him for bailing on her to literally save people. As someone who volunteers at a soup kitchen I don't believe she would be that selfish. So I am going to have to disagree with your interpretation on her reasons. After all when he suddenly has to fly off at the end of episode 8 she seems to have no problem.
Amber stops this season from being a perfect 10/10 in my opinion. Everything is flawless...up until she puts herself on this pedestal wanting to be more important than LITERALLY, THE WORLD
Amber is cool and she's not wrong. I'm a bit worried about y'all's relationships in the comments if you think lying to your girlfriend for a month is ok
I hate Amber so much but love her VA Zazie!!!
Amber is the worst character ever. I already know she’s going to live forever in this series. That’s how it normally goes with the worst characters.
Robot is rapey, stealing someones DNA
That Amber scene with the "i know you're a superhero, i'm not an idiot" actually ruined Amber for me, I was on board with what you guys were saying about how the relationship was rocky but she had every reason to be upset considering what she knew, Mark really looked like an irresponsable boyfriend, but if she KNEW HE WAS SAVING FUCKING LIVES and she KNOWS WHY SECRET IDENTITIES ARE A THING!! then WHAT THE FUCK!?!? this means when that one guy kidnapped william and almost killed an entire campus Amber saw Mark put the invincible suit on and save everybody almost at the expense of his life yet she still gave him shit for it (at this time she must have known considering she said she's known for weeks)
also, she was mad beacuse "he lied to her" by not telling her he's invincible, again. she's not stupid(supposedly) so she must know why he didn't and why its smart not to, and even if it is not a great idea to tell a popular girl who's on a rocky relationship with you and who almost hates your guts your secret identity, he DID IT ANYWAYS if that's not trust i don't know what is.... Amber was an asshole i don't care
Even William was a bit of a douche, yeah, Mark has super powers. he's had them for a month or so. tell me you would have done better in his position, give him a break
Lol, get on the Amber hate train. What a terrible narcissistic character. At least Rex has some redeeming qualities.
The comic version of Amber is SO much better than the show version.
Guys please react to death note
People have become so entitled nowadays. Attaching words like 'gaslighting' and 'betrayal' over the smallest of things.

"When they were starting to date Eve did say to Mark to make sure that he was all-in with her before telling her everything"
^^^ As for the context of this line, you twisted it.
Amber sucks, if she already knew he is invicible. Why to act like that?
She doesn't feel loved or respected and regardless of external circumstances, she's under no obligation to stay in a relationship with him
If you've ever been with a closeted partner you know how awful this dynamic is on both ends
She's not the one failing to be a good partner.
