Who missed the REAL old school Nitro Stadium trucks? I DO!
My first nitro was one of the original nitro stadium trucks - a '91 Kyosho Outlaw Rampage Truck (totally different than the newer solid axle stuff.)
Traxxas Nitro Hawk for me. Miss the early days of nitro
Vintage RC period are bad fkn ASS, nitro GANG, 2speed baby
My favorite was the HPI RS4-MT with a 2-speed. I didn't know anything about Nitro back then, so it was electric ⚡. Then I bought the Nitro version years later!😊

hey my friend!! how are you! Yes man, the old school HPI. nitro RUSH was great, there were several versions of them, the one this video is the very first model. Needs a new engine unfortunately, it's got low compression.

The Firestorm was my first nitro rc. My only issue with it was the lsn was in a weird spot and kind of awkward to get at. I was so sad when HPI discontinued the Firestorm and the Blitz. I literally broke the exact same stuff on mine.

This RC car was my childhood. I spend so much time working with them. Nowadays, it’s the only car I collect. I have 4 Firestorms and an entire hobby shops worth of replacement parts. Right now I’m working on a project in fusion360 to fully 3-D, print a replica firestorm from scratch. I am so far designed every single component for the fire storm and right now I’m working on a new gearbox design to replace the old Firestorm gearbox that it’s hard to find. I’m also working on a conversion kit to take any firestorm and convert it to Brushless. I have a working prototype and I can do over 123 km/h right now. Eventually, I will start posting about the project and I’ll put 3d files online.
I have one of these and it rips!! So much fun given its RWD... These cars actually have some racing pedigree, if you Google the Mugen MST-1 from back in the day you'll see they look very similar. HPI defenitely took some inspiration from that platform...
hey my dude! Yes, you're totally right the Firestorm has features from the more high end HPI HellFire as well. The MST-1 is a nitro I've never had, but I'm pretty familiar with it, you're right! More on this thing soon after the clutch spring is repaired.
it's amazing how much work was put in to this Firestorm to revive it! Can't kill a Nitro! this 3.0 engine is a true legend. Very nice fire up, brakes and run. Engine was nicely tuned, just the clutch needs probably a replacement.

I agree bro! the nitro rustler was a top contender, and was significantly faster too. Probably as a result of gearing, plus the traxxas engines has more power than the 15fe! Sickening!

The clutches on the firestorm are known to be poor, a bullet spring apparently works but i opted to jam 2 shoes from a 3 shoe setup in. Had to shim the clutch nut up but now have sickening clutch engagement

So I just ended up with one of those older Firestorm with the 27mhz AM radio. Couldnt figure out exactly what it was so I knew all I had to do was search your channel to find out and as usual u didn't disappoint lol. I'm currently restoring it and have a ton of questions haha. It has a hpi 3.0 motor on it, not even sure if that's the factory motor, can't wait to get this thing running again tho

I have 2 of them at this point, but I'll be honest with you those complicated ball diffs seem to be pissing me off, lol! Could be due to old AGE and the system just getting loose. Im thinking of a new nitro rustler for the channel, what do you think?

hey buddy! I got the perfect suggestion for you. I've done a video on this same exact issue. What you need is the HPI T3.0 engine, not the G3.0. The T3.0 will be a direct drop in and you won't even need to adjust gear mesh.

LOl! that was the prior owner! He must have hit a curb, whole thing was KILLED in the front! Typical style issue with the JATO also, too much NITRO and not enough brakes! lol.
