Hi phil, I know u usually talk about everything that's going in the US but could u please talk about what's going on in Perú. We are having the worst political, sanitary and economic crisis. Our president has been removed from office just five months before elections by a congress that has 68 members under investigation. We want to have a pacific protest but our police is not keeping us safe, is attacking us. Local media is not speaking truly about it. International media is actually covering this way better than ours. Please help us spreading the word. thnks
Whoa! Just looked into this and STAY STRONG, AKI! I hope something is able to be done about those lawmakers. I need to look more into that immunity they seem to take advantage of. Cause I can’t understand how that was able to keep going for the past few decades without it being too obvious. I’m also glad your fellow citizens are standing up for what they believe. I just hope they all are being safe.
It is actually an adaptation of a saying popularised by the satirist Johnathan Swift and is frequently misattributed to Mark Twain or Winston Churchill. But the saying is probably much older than even swift and is more similar to an idiom such as “six to one, half a dozen to the the other”. Like many idioms - it is still a snappy way to put an idea succinctly regardless of who said it first 👍

In Trump's case, it's the latter part of my question that is the answer but at least he has the nepotism part down right since "future problems" might come this way again. If Trump's ancestry had kings in his family's in the past then why did they leave the Old World in the first place? Like many of his previous business ventures, he didn't "die bravely for his rights and beliefs as a king" like in any fairy tale, he was a "smart coward" to know when the winds of change were about to brings the wolves at his door or took preventive measures from happening but now people know that not only he is a self-concerned, biased, two-faced, deceitful, panhandling coward but a disgraced sore loser who now feels that he can't accepted being thrown out like the trash he has given everyone on social media. Here's something he should remember about me that made me an enemy of him....Gilroy, California...El Paso, Texas....Dayton, Ohio....and I don't give a damn about the guns but only the departed and those left behind. Obviously the left is guilty of this as well, but given that Trump is currently in power the hypocrisy is often on full display all over the internet.
I completely agree! It's sad. It's also sad that someone will turn on a person because they are different politically... Even if they're compatible people in ever other sense.
Well this appealing to both sides makes me feel like the US Election was essentially a big old sports tournament with only two teams. Fouls were common. Civility was thrown aside. Unlike most people Trump has another house to go to. Of course, there is always the possibility that he might be a resident of a Federal prison in the future.
This is also something that was happening on the left for the last 4 years and it still drives me crazy. It's like both sides are living in their own parallel universe. Best example of this is the vivid vaccine. 2 weeks ago all on the right said it's crazy to avoid taking the vaccine and the left refused to do so because of trump, now on the flip side with Pfizer possibly coming out with their vaccine the right are refusing and the left love it.

All possible election fraud should be investigated thoroughly. To simply call everyone who questions it a conspiracy theorist, censor them, ban them from social media and run constant "Nothing to see here" articles on the MSM is to simply divide the nation further. They deserve precisely what's coming to them. They literally burned down the city, crushed the economy, threatened Chinese mainlanders, vandalized traffic lights/public property, and behaved like animals. This was done even though the extradition law was suspended and withdrawn rapidly. These riots continued in order to release violent criminals and shame the police (investigate the infallible police and force the police to not refer to the riots as "riots"). The security law is something that these maniacs created for themselves, it's on them. Yet ignorant westerners thinks that these people are fighting for a valid cause. That they're innocent. HK was also set to merge with China completely in 2 decades in accordance with the original British handover treaty. Whatever action you take today is temporary since its inevitable.
I think democracy is likely to fall all around the globe. America was always supposed to be the shining light example of democracy and it has barely survived the last 4 years. For the first time in American history a sitting president is refusing to concede, filing dozens of lawsuits to try and over turn the election while making countless unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud that simply do not exist, and after losing the election has been cleaning house in the pentagon and intelligence agencies while replacing all the top level positions with loyalists to him. It is terrifying. And it's already been confirmed by multiple intelligence agencies this is exactly what China and Russian wanted to happen to America. They played a key role in trying to topple our democracy by pushing lots of pro-Trump propaganda everywhere and manipulating how easy it is to spread lies and misinformation online to encourage people to support wanna be dictator Trump. America's democracy is on it's last legs right now. Largely because the very people who were supposed to protect America from this kind of thing; intelligence agencies/law enforcement/the military have mostly all been sitting back and cheering it on just because the dictator-lite being pushed in America is a conservative and they see liberals as the bad guys not the dictator in chief. Democracy may very well be done for as China and Russia continue to cripple America and try to turn us into a fascist state like they are.

The national security law came after the riots in HK, which was not a pro-democracy movement but rather an anti-police/anti-China/anti-government movement. Notably, those very same HK protestors worship Trump and viciously attack Biden (in my view, much crazier than any right-wing I have seen in the US) because they blindly think that Trump is out there to destroy the CCP. Yeah, here in Texas a lot of people have stopped wearing masks in public. I teach at a public high school, and kids are starting to get snippy when I tell them to put on their mask. No contact tracing or social distancing. I’ve never been a hypochondriac, but this has had me second guessing everything about how I feel. I’m scared all the time.
in my country, Thailand (where temperatures are above 80*F and humidity of more than 90% most of the year even at nights), we have mask-wearing mandate since March 2020.. it initially came with heavy fines and/or prison-time upto 2 years (until the end of October when the emergency royal decree was finally lifted due to zero local COVID-19 transmission for more than a month).. Thailand was under a nation-wide lockdown for 1.5 months, and under non-essential international travel-ban until recently (the EU has designated Thailand as one of the safest destinations to travel to since at least July or August 2020).. we even had a nation-wide alcohol-sale ban for weeks - Thailand was among 2 other countries that followed WHO's recommendation to restrict alcohol sales during the pandemic along with South Africa and a European country (that i cannot remember); and of course not to mention Muslim-majority countries where alcohol is a big no-no there with or without COVID.. Thailand was on the 2nd and 3rd place on the GCI Global COVID-19 recovery Index for 5 months, but we dropped into the 9th place at the end of October when we had our first COVID-19-related death in more than 50 days, and we had a spike of number of daily new COVID-19 cases (still in single digits - not a second wave yet).. and recently, Bloomberg had accused Thailand of having "the LEAST miserable economies in the world for the year 2020" - despite of the constant political protests and the frequent clashes between the Thai police/army and protestors, that has been happening at our nation-capitol Bangkok since.. since forever.. part of the problem in our current politics, is that everytime we criticize our politicians or our Thai government policies, their ready answer is "well, it could have been worse, at lease we are not like America..".. yes, we used to make fun of America under this pandemic, but it becomes a non-ending excuse to maintain the status quo - which is why Bangkok is deep in protests at this very moment.. in the matters of controlling the pandemic, our government scores A+.. anything else, not so much.. the Thai health services keep us informed and they manage our expectations very well.. for example, the Thai people see a COVID-19 vaccine as 'a' solution to the pandemic, but not as the only nor the most definitive solution to the pandemic.. we were already told to expect hand-washing, mask-wearing, social-distancing and all other measures (including isolation, quarantine, lock-down and travel-ban) to last for at least 2 years after a vaccine is made available to the Thai people.. in fact, Thailand is making its own COVID-19 vaccines and the government expects to produce our own COVID-19 vaccines (yes, plural) in 2022 - and we are not alone in this: India, Canada, Japan and Kazakhstan are making their own COVID-19 vaccines that are completely different and independent from what is going to be available in the first quarter of 2021.. when Dr Redfield (the director of the CDC) testified in front of the Senate and was asked about COVID-19 vaccine, only few weeks ago, he mentioned hand-washing and mask-wearing in his answer, as if he is saying that vaccines as important as or are no more important than other measures to control the pandemic.. most Thais understand what he meant, but i am afraid that most Americans do not understand it yet.. Thailand was hit during the SARS coronavirus epidemic in mid 2000s and it was on high alert about the MERS coronavirus epidemic in the middle east in mid 2010s during height of the Hajj seasons - not to mention the Swine flu and the bird flu; so we kinda knew what to do about the latest coronavirus pandemic.. mask-wearing was not met with a lot of protests, like in America.. natural immunity takes decades and sometimes generations to acquire.. the only shortcut to herd-immunity is through a comprehensive nation-wide vaccination program, and we need at least 90% of people vaccinated and/or immune against COVID-19, to achieve the herd immunity in any community.. unfortunately, internet-trolls, antivaxxers, doubters or simply a group of people who are concerned about the safety of the vaccine, will be the major obstacles to such programs - despite of months and months of lab, animal and human trials under the watchful eyes of the CDC, the FDA and similar governing agencies around the world.. there should be no half-measures.. and please do not look at vaccines as the only definitive solution that we have against this pandemic, because it is NOT..

"Almost every one of them is dead and is registered," you have the means to show these people voted but how exactly can you prove these people are dead though? You have only proven half of the evidence to be true. In fact I'll make it real easy for you, David Abbott and Robert Batten, those are the two names I randomly selected when I checked the Michigan voter website, find me any evidence that those two people are in fact dead. Do some thinking yourself m8. True and I truly miss Hitch. However if there's evidence of voter fraud (and I'm NOT saying there is - I don't know) the people who are in possession of that evidence are under no obligation to share it with us (it would actually be irresponsible of them to do so). The assertions will be made to the courts and if there is no evidence, or if it's weak, the cases will be dismissed. It's really just that simple. If the Republicans have nothing, nothing will happen. But I suspect Trump and his team have some aces up their sleeves or they wouldn't be going to court. People should prepare themselves for the possibility that this could flip in Trump's direction. It may be a small chance, but the chance of it happening is definitely above 0%.
Nuno Silvia... exactly, that's why the courts will decide if there is evidence of voter fraud or not... not the msm, not the democrats and not the republics... if joe biden is confident he won the presidency fair and square then he'll support the necessary recounts and what not, so he can legitimize his presidency.

It's not voter fraud it's irregularities and improprieties they keep trying to drill that word voter fraud into your head because voter fraud didn't happen. It was improprieties and anomalies, Irregularities
But when trump was elected, divorces were through the roof, relationships of all sorts were fractured, family disowning each other, but lets pretend this divided starts happening just now...

Big fan Phil but as someone who's voted twice for Trump it's just hard to take mainstream media's word that there was no voter fraud when for four years I had to listen about Russia that wasn't true
It is very nice. Lockdown for over 100 days was rough but necessary, I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved but sucks that I haven’t seen Phil talk about it at all but I get it cos America is so crazy rn
Personally I’ve always felt that it’s strange to get results so fast, waiting days to me is more believable and for the 2016 wasn’t it a few months later that the Russia thing came up? I feel like they should be looking for truth first privately instead of saying things that are being disproven
Long story short. If you don't think their is fraud or irregularities or that there is not enough to change the outcome then don't worry about it, Don't let it stress you out so much. There are systems in place to investigate this stuff. Just let it happen, it's their job.
I disagree, even if all Trumps voter fraud court cases fail at least 50% or so of all trump supports will still think the election wasn't free and fair. If all people on one side believe the entire democratic system is rigged against them this might lead to a bunch of people with guns being radicalised and it is also a major win for autocrats like Putin and Xi Jinping.
Oh, tis but a hope of what Stalin did. Ha ha ha ha. The assumption that Voter Fraud is an illusion, amuses me greatly. I hope that small percent chance doesn't end up damning America in the far future. Then again, "reap what you sow".
Yeah, because that’s how the world works. Look at the medical industry or the justice system. Yeah, neither of those are broken systems that people manipulate with money...
@@brams6749 The same is said the other way around, but don't get me wrong. No side is pure about their intentions for the Vote. Just ensure Voter Fraud can be avoided, but legally speaking... (1) It's easy said than done, since the Vote must be kept anonymous while being official. It is difficult to tell if any Vote is or isn't valid, after it reaches the area it needs to be placed in. A system can be designed to deal with this problem, but it must answer the requirement from above (1). Meaning... Humans are needed, but humans are bias. Which can lead to future problems.
Also don't forget that all of these legal challenges ultimately can and will be taken up by SCOTUS which is now a 6:3 right:left extremely partisan institution. If the SCOTUS majority decides to simply go along with Trump's meritless legal challenges, there's no one left to appeal to, that's the end of the road as far as the Constitution is concerned and it will signify a very real and definitive end to US democracy as we know it all but immediately. Long story short... it's well past time to worry.

It has been a real struggle to be a middle school teacher in all of this. The number of times that I’ve explained the electoral college and the fact that is essentially impossible to flip this election unless something huge has happened nation wide. Also talking about how few to none of the claims are backed. I work in a rural district and most of my students come from conservative families. I had to get to the point where I told them if there was any booing, cheering, or snide comments during CNN10 that they were going to RTC for the rest of the hour and receiving lunch detention....
The city was calm and peaceful without Chinese intervention. The city were then burned down by hostile rioters. That required Chinese intervention. Chinese intervention is now imposed, justifiably.
I appreciate you covering that first story and explaining it so well, I searched all over today trying to find what the claims were and the basis behind them and you made it very clear, thank you!!
Hey Phil, you talked about North Carolina allowing Healthcare workers who test positive and are asymptomatic can keep working. This is actually in North Dakota.
Joe Rogan UA-cam: "How the Media is Covering Voter Fraud Allegations" Phillip DeFranco: "This just doesn't make any sense... and it's scary that more people don't see that."
Phil is a liberal and has been bought for the past few years. I just watch him to summarize the mainstream media bullshit news for the week. He’s not a reliable source at all, just relays the same narrative he wants us to feed
If I recall, he summed it up as, The voters may have rejected Trump, but they seem to have remained confident in the Republican party. Kind of how Mitt Romney put it.
It was the fact that the people didn't like either choices much. Trump destroyed himself with his covid response and forgetting the working class. So it wasn't a ringing endorsemen of Biden. If he was young enough to run again I suspect he'd lose in 2024 against a decent republican. Pelosi held up the stimulus bill to avoid giving Trump any win when she should have taken the compromise and kicked it to the senate. Then the republican senate would be the ones to kill it. Additionally, the swing district democrats that lost were the ones that moved right. The ones that signed on to M4A and Green New Deal and accepted AOC's campaign help all won re-election. Note that progressive policies like $15 min wage, drug legalization all passed even while Biden or Dems lost. Dems want to shift right to suck up the moderate republican suburbanites. The cost of that is losing working class. Also it seems like they didn't manage to retain the suburban swing districts they won. Dems will probably lose the house and fail to gain the senate in the midterms. So it will be 4 years of nothing.
@@theuglykwan "Additionally, the swing district democrats that lost were the ones that moved right." pretty much. If the electoral votes come in and he loses, and still refuses to transfer, then yeah he's doing it wrong, but imo there's nothing wrong with wanting recounts. Just like how the West supported the repulsive, violent, and criminal-sympathizing BLM movement because a hooligan were rightfully neutralized by the police. This world is a joke!
@@SerenityM54L2SAM5L5N1 I'm on board with with the "the west shouldnt be involved with HK" sentiment. But.... BLM started because a innocent child was stalked by a wanna-be vigilante, that was told by the police to stop stalking the child. Back to HK. It only exists as an independent district, because of the west. And that status of independence is set to expire in 30ish years. All this protesting is a moot point. As it's fate is already decided.

the last story.. Wow Hong Kong is lost... That is a huge loss for democracy, and more people should definitely be aware of it.
Socialism / communism wins

Everyone deserves to be free. LIBERTY FOR HONG KONG 🇭🇰
Well Hong Kong is fucked if Biden is the President. He is going to hurt more than help things like democracy in HK and a Brexit deal.
NBC reports that the fabricated Martin Aspen report on Biden was commissioned by Apple Daily, a HK tabloid that is seen as a supporter of the HK movement.
Go on the social media of the news outlet in HK (RTHK, NOWNews), look for the comment section and use Google Translate. You will know what I'm talking about.
@@Tokai134 Actually, Appledaily have already created a statement that it wasn't them who commissioned it. And I don't believe that HKers are blindly supporting Trump given that both candidates are pretty shitty this year. I mean, China DQ 4 HK opposition politicians immediately after the media announced Biden won. So why wouldn't HKers doubt Biden's treatment towards HK & China?
@@pandayy8865 1) Christopher Balding, the co-author of the fabricated report, disclosed Apple Daily's role in the report. Mark Simon resigned from his post at AppleDaily as a result. AppleDaily's denial of its involvement bears no meaningful value.
2) How is "both candidates are pretty shitty this year" supportive of the claim that "HKers are not blindly supporting Trump"?
3) And how is Biden shitty? Do elaborate.
4) And attacking Biden (and his family) is justified just because China disqualified legislators (which it was planning to do anyway) after Biden won? And they are somehow related?
5) HK protestors' attack on Biden and their worship for Trump has been ongoing for at least a year. The incident of disqualification has nothing to do with that.
6) I don't care whether HK people "doubt" Biden's treatment towards HK or China. The fact is HK people attack Biden and worship Trump over their unfounded doubts.
@@Tokai134 Mark Simon used money from Jimmy Lai's other company to fund the investigation. Appledaily denial will bear meaning when they take it to court. Many people are voting for Biden this year because they're against Trump. And by attacking Biden, do you mean Hunter Biden's photos? And I don't see how HK protestors are worshipping Trump, most of them just want the CCP gone and Trump it's their stepping stone. Everyone knows that Trump probably won't help HK if there are no profits to be made. So I wouldn't use the word 'blindly' on HKers.
China wanted to disqualify those politicians for a long time, yes, I mean they want 1 country 2 systems gone for the longest time but why do you think it's now? Timing is everything here but it seems that you are keeping a blind eye to it.

in my country, Thailand (where temperatures are above 80*F and humidity of more than 90% most of the year even at nights), we have mask-wearing mandate since March 2020.. it initially came with heavy fines and/or prison-time upto 2 years (until the end of October when the emergency royal decree was finally lifted due to zero local COVID-19 transmission for more than a month)..
That was lengthy

If we're talking about the US, let's be honest Democracy has already left the building years ago

@@fathersignature3110 that doesn’t really make a difference
@@ItsNotChow Guys, we NEVER had democracy.
Weve had a democratic republic.
NOT same same. It was designed so landowners and the rich maintained power.

Yeah, neither of those are broken systems that people manipulate with money...
@@brams6749
The same is said the other way around, but don't get me wrong.

As for Hong Kong... Monarchy (or whatever the CCP calls it) is not an inherently terrible path to rule. It's just humans being humans. So easily corruptible. Ha ha ha ha. Because no kingdom is immune to it.

It has been a real struggle to be a middle school teacher in all of this. The number of times that I’ve explained the electoral college and the fact that is essentially impossible to flip this election unless something huge has happened nation wide. I would be interested to hear his take on the Republicans gaining in the House and retaining, currently, the majority in the Senate.
If I recall, he summed it up as,
The voters may have rejected Trump, but they seem to have remained confident in the Republican party.

The guy has the right to not concede the election. Its not like he's doing anything illegal by not saying "gg Joe I lost". If the electoral votes come in and he loses, and still refuses to transfer, then yeah he's doing it wrong, but imo there's nothing wrong with wanting recounts. If the recounts change nothing, then Trump should step down, if they do change anything, then it will have been done through the legal process and should help restore/preserve faith in the American electoral system for its ability to find and correct errors (whether they be intentional or accidental).
@@zythesly I don't have a problem with the recount it's how he is throwing a tantrum and putting out false claims of fraud without any substantial evidence. It pollutes his own discord and makes himself to be more unstable than he really is thus many people losing faith in him as a leader.

If any of this surprises anyone, they haven't been paying attention.
Here's the thing, I just want an honest and fair election. Shouldn't your argument be that if there really is no fraud and no proof, let Trump bring all these lawsuits and accusations forward and it'll all get thrown out. But everyone saying no proof, shouldn't everyone be transparent about the whole thing on both side. Regardless who actually wins, this process of trying to get an fair and honest election need to be an example for future elections, presidential or state local.
The point is that it's not good enough to recount based on false allegations. It sets a dangerous precedent if you can just say a random conspiracy and then they treat it like reality
Besides that, the lawsuits trump does bring have been battered down constantly across most states. In fact if you look at them they really don't have much proof to go by
