    I went Saturday morning and watched the tractor pulls and walked around. Last I went was in 2000. It's amazing how the size of the equipment has grown. Hope your time there was good.

    Ross those kevlar friction disc might be the perfect solution. My zero turn ate up hydro drive belts regularly. I tried a kevlar belt, and it has lasted several seasons. Cost more, but in the end, is much less costly!

    • @rosstheoliverman
      @rosstheoliverman  6 місяців тому

      It will be interesting to try some of the stuff out and see if it’s that much better. I do use those Kevlar belts on my mower as well and that’s the only way to go.

    Can't say for where you're at but, many yrs ago when I got my sprayer license, I later found out that I only needed it if I was spraying for others. Never wasted my money on a spray license since. Things may have changed, not sure. Great video, cheers :)

    • @rosstheoliverman
      @rosstheoliverman  6 місяців тому

      Oh, you have to have it if you’re spraying for yourself you can’t even buy some of the chemicals. Now they made it even more strict and you have to have a special license for each worker.

    Some of these planters and other equipment sizes/widths get kind of obnoxious into ridiculous. I penciled out how many acres you can cover with a four, six, or twelve row planter, not working too hard nor racing the gear and included rain outs/repairs, and it was a surprisingly huge number of acres. More acres than a feller might even want to farm. Now you did have to be out on the tractor more days but isn't that what farmin' is all about? And then transform from heavy tillage into strip-till and no-till and the time involved rolls back even more. Bankers love this big stuff though, they know they keep more farmers as hard working 'employees'.

    • @rosstheoliverman
      @rosstheoliverman  6 місяців тому

      Yeah, sometimes I think it’s probably more cost-effective to run two smaller rigs than one giant one. Also, you have the advantage that if one breaks you can keep going with the other one and you’re not totally dead in the water.
