- In this review, it's another installment of "Macro Monday" here on the channel, and I'm going to take a look at another beer from Anheuser-Busch (@OfficialBuschBeer), and it's their Busch Beer, which is an American Adjunct Lager. I can't remember the last time I had this beer, but it's probably been at least 15 years, so when I saw a single can of this at my local grocery store, I figured I'd grab it and give it a go. Let's see how it is!

Thanks for watching!
I used to be a serious beer snob. Thought all American corn lagers were garbage. When I was a teenager I did enjoy Hamms beer.
Now I am a lot older and I decided to dive into American lagers. To my surprise there are few really good ones out there at a price point that is hard to argue.
Most Anheiser Busch beers are bland. Bud has too much rice. But I enjoy Busch much more than Bud. 4.3-5% abv is fine. You can drink several of these and not get drunk but have a nice pleasant buzz. I don't like feeling drunk but I like nice and functional buzz. This is a perfect beer.
Hamms and Raineir are my favorite American lagers. This is a slightly cheaper and easier to find than Hamms and Raineir.
I am done buying over priced craft beers.
I don’t mind a good foreign or domestic craft beer at all but on a regular basis Busch, Hamms, Rainier are excellent, smooth, delicious and refreshing.
Thanks for the comment, Robert! I've always respect people's choices in beer. Never did the whole beer snob thing because, in life, we enjoy what we enjoy. The reason I jumped into craft beer is because I wasn't a fan of American Adjunct Lagers, as a whole. However, over the years, I've come to appreciate some of them. While I don't really like Busch, it's super inoffensive, and I can see why folks like yourself enjoy it.
Honestly, Hamm's is probably in my top-five. Never had Rainier or Olympia. They're on my beer bucket list, actually. My favorites are Genesee Cream Ale, Narragansett Lager, Miller High Life and Hamm's. Probably a few others I'm missing.
I've always been intrigued by the regional American Lagers. It's so cool to read the history of some of the beers, and trying them is always exciting.
Cheers, man!
Busch on my woman #1. Busch the beer, no go. Busch Light 👍
LMAO! Great comment. I haven't had Busch Light in a long time, so I might need to review it at some point. Curious as to which one I'd prefer.
Cheers!
3.4-3.5, a fair rating. Not great, not terrible. I enjoy them occasionally.
Thanks! Yeah, I could drink this, for sure. Much better than some other beers within the style.
Cheers!
It seems to me that the 16oz Busch are stronger than the 12oz cans even though they are the same ABV.
I can't speak to what you're saying only because I don't drink it enough. If that seems to be the case for you, then the 16 fl. oz cans should definitely be the play.
Cheers!
I tried this one a while back and went 3.44% for my score on BA. Like you say nothing offensive. Love that. It really is just a light macro. For another inexpensive macro I think Miller High Life has more flavor. Cheers!
Yeah, it's a "beer." Nothing offensive about it at all, and that works well for when you just want a crusher without thinking about. I definitely prefer the High Life over this one, no doubt! My favorite for a cheaper crusher is still Genny Cream Ale, but reviewing a bunch of these macros has opened my eyes to a bunch of different ones that are fine for what they are. Thanks for the comment!
Cheers!
Busch Light! Love it.
Nice, Dave1 Never reviewed Busch Light, just the Apple and Peach. Probably need to do so at some point.
Cheers!
I will drink this one on occasion however my favorite is busch light
Nice! Glad you enjoy it, man.
Cheers!
Hey man I just subscribed to your channel great video and I must say that I was thinking about drinking this beer again cause I haven't drink Busch Beer in Acouple of years and to be honest what makes me want to start drinking Busch now is after watching that Busch guide commercial and I wanna give Budweiser A break for Awhile cause I been drinking mostly Mike's hard lemonade and drinking 40 oz's and I wanna start drinking lite beer so busch beer sounds good to me
Thanks, Zane! Much appreciated. Busch is worth trying out, especially if you're drinking Budweiser. I personally prefer this over Budweiser, but we all have different tastes. Hope you enjoy it if you go back to drinking it!
Cheers!
This one one my beer i like to drink not bad one my favorite definitely better the some of other cheap beers out there its good if you want something easier to chug and not going give you bad tastes in your mouth eather
Glad you like it, Curtis! I don't love it, but it's definitely serviceable, and much like you, I think it's super drinkable without any off-flavors. Thanks for the comment, man!
Cheers!
Busch light is a good beer for a great price.
Glad you like it, man! Haven't had Busch Light in a long time, so maybe I'll review it at some point.
Cheers!
This is probably one of my least favorite beers. Busch/Busch Light, Natural Ice/Light, and Rolling Rock would be my bottom 3. Hey, can't like everything. Busch Light Apple was good but it doesnt taste like Busch with apple flavor. They just used the Busch name for branding purposes.
I hear ya, man. Rolling Rock is currently at the bottom along with Molson Canadian (which I need to review for Macro Monday at some point). I'm sure if you polled 100 different beer drinkers, you'd get a wide variety of answers on their favorite/least favorite beers. I didn't find this offensive at all, but it's also very flavorless, haha! Yeah, from what I recall with Busch Light, it was just a typically light lager, and Busch Apple definitely tasted more like carbonated apple cider.
Cheers, man!
Busch is my cheap beer of choice. I’m drinking it right now because I’m just getting back to work over Covid and don’t want to give up beer while I catch up financially. As far as American macro lagers go I prefer Budweiser or coors banquet.
Nice, Thomas! I do enjoy me some Coors Banquet or Miller High Life. Not a big fan of Budweiser, though. I still need to review it at some point. I still think Busch is very inoffensive and not bad for the price point. I could definitely see it working after getting over a sickness. Thanks for the comment!
Cheers!
Looks like gold
Color-wise? Kind of does!
Cheers!
Room Temp? I doubt it. Macro Apologist - Joe The Roit Troll. If this is what is required to get subs I'll stay below 1000. Hahaha, let's be honest I will stay there anyway. Hope that was enough of early monday hate you were looking for. Hahaha! Cheers Brother
LOL! I leave all the room temperature beer reviews -- especially lagers -- to you, Paul. Can't infringe on that at all, haha! Honestly, I started Macro Monday as a way to force myself to try or re-try a lot of macro/macro-esque beers, since I'm most likely not going to purposely purchase them myself. I thought it'd be a good way to go about it, honestly. Don't care if it brings me less or more subs/viewers, I just want to see how my palate feels about a lot of them nowadays, especially since I haven't had the vast majority of them in many, many years. I think it's an appropriate amount of hate, and I read that message entirely in your voice.
Cheers, brother!
Might send you a budweiser from europe and you taste it against usa bud.
Are we talked about Budvar/Czechvar? We definitely get it here. That would make for a fun review, for sure.
Cheers, man!
@@averagejoe716 could send that, but i was saying the budweiser labeled one, supposedly the recipe is supposed to be different here than in usa, better here, may be a rumour, would be good to see u and your crew taste it along side the usa one
Ah, I got you! I appreciate the offer, but I'd say don't worry about it. I might do the Czechvar/Budweiser comparison, though. I appreciate the idea!
Thats a summer beer after cutting the yard cooking out you can't drink a craft beer in hot weather
I think this would be a great beer to slug back after some yard work, for sure. That said, I can certainly enjoy a craft beer in warm weather. There's a ton of great lagers and refreshing beers brewed by craft breweries. Whether macro or craft, if it's a refreshing beer, it'll be enjoyed in the heat! Thanks for the comment.
Cheers!
Piss water
It certainly looks like it, haha!
Cheers!
I hope that beer wasn't over two weeks old.....
Right? No way anybody would drink a month old Busch Beer, baby!
Cheers, dude!
I liked this beer better 20 years ago when it was in 12 oz. bottles and the ABV was close to 5% but this is an average cheap lager. Cheers.
Yeah, an "average cheap lager" is a good way to describe this one. I was surprised I didn't dislike it, but there wasn't anything to really dislike (or like). It just exists, haha! Thanks for sharing, Ralph!
Cheers!
It still comes in 12pz bottles and cans
@@AdamDushay-rw8zn Not in bottles here in Vegas for the last 10 years or more.
I do not mind busch heavy in the least!
If someone handed this to me, I would drink it, but it's just like a lightly flavored seltzer, haha! Nothing wrong with it, and it's rather inoffensive, but don't think I've had such a flavorless beer in a hot minute.
Cheers, Rick!
@@averagejoe716 Lol, that's exactly right 'cross the board
