    A good way to remember what an ME is, is: A mix/effect is a video version of an Aux send of an audio mixer...

      I don’t think so? I’ve low-key coded both from scratch for a side project. The logic isn’t remotely the same.

    Curved LED panels are just so nice. Let’s go Thor! ❤😊
    Resolume is just so powerful with such an amazing value. 🎉 Compared to other 100k box media servers 😂

    Timely video :) Q for THOR: On the THOR Edge 3.9 they use the Novastar A5 receiving cards. What do the newer a8 and a10 cards offer as main benefits? I notice those are in the tighter pixel pitch offerings from THOR.

    • @duhr3l
      @duhr3l 10 місяців тому +1

      Pretty much the main difference is A8 and 10 allow for a higher loading capacity, support for HDR and ClearView, and 18bit+ color processing. A5 should handle most church size settings but if you need more pixel per card then A8 will be great (7680 pixels per card compared to 3840 pixels per card for A5). A10 is more for professional level that I don't think is necessary for church purposes. This would be more for high production level companies like filming.

      @@duhr3lwith the mx20, do you think the a5s will be able to take advantage of a lot of its features? I see it says a10 pro cards unlock a lot of new features.

      Hey there! Great questions, as a NovaStar has a solid resource on their website for understanding the various features of each receiving card and compatibility within the COEX system. Check out Page 21: oss.novastar.tech/uploads/2023/07/COEX-Solution-NCP-File-Instruction-Manual-V1.0.1.pdf

    As I am looking more into LED walls I have come across LED nation with Mirackle system as well as the Thor system which both use Novastar processing, has anyone seen both in action to know the difference?

    Good walk through of the setup. Thanks for sharing.
    The one thing that jumped out ot me related to the installation and distribution ( at the 9 minute mark of the video ) was the fiber distribution to the processor unit. The fiber optics is one of the inexpensive components here yet provides a very critical function and needs to be handled better. While access to behind the wall is limited to people, the lack of a proper bend radius on the vertical run and overall protection of optical cabling for this system had some areas for improvement. Using proper fiber optic cable management goes a long way in securing and protecting optical feeds as well as helps to maintain solid performance. Something for folks to consider and keep in mind.

    Thanks for sharing this video - and very interessting. I Install alot of LED walls and we use different vendors for the panels e.g. Absen or Recience with mostly Brompton controller.
    This Thor panels, look nice, too - are they with a smaller pixel pitch available e.g. 1.5 or so ....

    • @thoravUS
      @thoravUS 10 місяців тому

      Thanks!! For sure, we provide a range of Pixel Pitches - currently we offer 3.9 to 1.8. If you are looking for that tighter pixel pitch, our RIDGE series can take you there.

    What is their process for converting the cats from the processor to fiber back to cats on the panels?

    What is the processing delay if the led wall is used for IMAG? Let's say with 4K30p camera.

    • @thoravUS
      @thoravUS 8 місяців тому

      Good question - Latency in the processor itself is typically near 1 to 2 frames depending on model of processor and features used (genlock, scaler, low latency modes, etc).
      Pro tip, Genlock’ing those processors typically reduces your latency! 💪🏻

    Hey there brother, id like to strongly suggest that you link the livestream channels of the churches that you work in and have worked in.
    Im a lighting director for 2 branches of our church now and although i have seen alot of your videos with tips regarding lighting, Nothing beats seeing the actual flow of the praise and worship to use as an example and gain even more tips, not just for lighting operators like me but also for visual operators and possibly others as well.
    Id also greatly appreciate it if you would link the channel of the small church that Ashton Turner did a video on. Many thanks :))

      There are plenty of great resources online for quality motion backs. Just remember that a quality LED Wall is a basically a giant reference monitor with extreme color accuracy. Having content that is uncompressed, not dithered, and high bit-rate is key.
      We’re big fans of StoryLoop as they offer ProRes downloads for much of their content!

    이 제품 사이즈는 SAMSUNG XHB LED MODULE와 유사해 보입니다.
    상당히 복잡해 보이는데 제가 경험하고 TEST JIG를 만들어 본 입장에서 전원부 처리와 데이타 연결 광 케이블 연결 방식에 대해 이정도로 복잡할 필요가 있는지 이해가 되지 않네요.
    대신 여러 그래픽 관련 내용과 관리 방법에 대해 많이 배웠습니다.

      The beauty of LED Wall systems is you can scale them up or down, from basic all the way to extremely complicated!

    12:15 - I mean yeah, sure, technically. But not really. The phone in my hand right now has almost as many pixels as half that video wall. The compute needed for that is not this horrifying, scary thing.

      Honestly I think a lot of these companies aren’t focused on reducing Idiot Index. These systems should be wayyyy simpler and cheaper.
