I've been playing Jo Stafford's records since childhood but never saw her sing...we didn't have these clippings in the Philippines....much obliged for the up-load!!!0 It's a marvel to hear @ Sing her this time!!!!
Thank you very much for posting this. I think it's more likely to be the January 11, 1955 episode, rather than December 1954. There are no Christmas decorations on the set, plus the fact the songs sung do not appear to have been performed in any of the December '54 episodes. I'm compiling a work on The Starlighters, the vocal group that accompanied Jo on both seasons of her show. In "At Sundown," they are (left to right): Tony Paris, Vince Degen, Ralph Brewster and Howard Hudson.
Unbelievable, the America we have lost. Contrast the tone and content with what we have now. How could we have been so foolish to let this slip away and let what we now have replace the wonderful America we once had.
Thank you for this!♥️🎶
Man, what a time. Gone forever. Thank you for the clip.
I love Jo Stafford...i get so mesmerized by her smooth voice. The best version of ''Baby It's Cold Outside''. She should've won more singing awards.
Thrilled to find this -- Jo is peerless, my favorite singer.
I just found this. The first day of spring was this week, but I don't care. I'll watch and listen to a wintertime Jo,all year 'round! 😍
@@swingman5635 Amen!
It is hard to imagine that people used to watch a program like this. It was a different time and yes we have lost something wonderful.
Jo had an incredible voice and vocal technique. So smooooth and what breath control! She could hold notes forever.
Jo was much loved in Australia and New Zealand.
Still is.
Always one of my favorite singers. I have never seen this before. Thank you so much for sharing this with the world. I adore her.
One of the most incredible singers !
This gem was found as I listened to her ‘Smoke Gets In Your Eyes’ on my Jazz playlist. I wanted to see what a beautiful voice looked like….

Brewster had previously sung with the Modernaires.
@@fromthesidelines That's right - he did.
Thank you for posting :-)
Loved Jo's voice !!!
I only came across Joe’s voice in a Bogart film 15 years ago… Smitten since..
I have loved Jo Stafford's voice for my entire life. I struggle to imagine her as a coloratura soprano, however!
She has a light, agile flute like head voice, but also a full creamy cello mezzosoprano gutoral tone, although her voice was def a soprano
@@mickygabriela8165 Can you refer me to a recording that showcases her singing in a soprano tessitura?
İnanilmaz degerli ve underrated bi ses
She did this show on British television when she was in London to star at the Palladium.
Ella Fitzgerald was one of her guests.
The show she did in London was in 1961. This video is from an earlier show in 1954.
I wonder if this London show was live or recorded on video. If the latter, has the tape survived?
Tuesdays, 7:45pm(et), right after "DOUGLAS EDWARDS WITH THE NEWS".
1was7in55 ,heard of her of course yrs later .she was my dad's generation, the greatest generation ,as they say. The music was great and she was great.
Schon damals wurde viel Zeit und Strom für Werbung verschwendet. Da bleibt wenig übrig von der Show. Schade
6:10 Moonlight in Vermont
Acknowledged by vocal experts as having "perfect pitch."
Ads make me think of MadMen :)

You are so brain dead from all the internet you’ve been exposed to in order to write something this stupid and tone deaf.

Whats this!? Sound only in the right channel! Un-listenable!
Bad picture quality, and the sound and picture is out of sync! Un-viewable!
Let's see a copy of a 1954 tv show. I don't know, but seems ok to me...
