I honestly think this is one of the best 4K restorations I’ve ever seen of an older horror film. The detail is immense while also maintaining that nice film grain, and Dolby vision HDR makes those colors like eye color or the green on the trees and blood POP
It really is an amazing restoration! I found myself noticing so many little details I had never seen before. Such a fantastic release. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Thank you for watching, my friend! It really is such a fascinating story. I've had a weird obsession with it since i was a kid. I'd love to own the original house one of these days...but my wife informed me she would never set foot inside of it! 😆
Great review! This may be one of your funniest and most informative videos. I loved it. I love this movie. Such a good one. The whole series (up to and including the remake) was really solid.
Thank you so much Seth! And I agree 100 percent, it really is a great series. All we need is a fancy new special edition of the 2005 remake and we will be set. C'mon Scream Factory or Vinegar Syndrome, get on it!
Awesome review my friend. This and part 2 are also my favorite haunted house films. Part 2 I like more though. Always look forward to your vids brother.👍
Thank you so much, my friend! I really appreciate it! And yeah, Amityville 1 and 2 are just so fantastic. I grew up watching both movies, but I do think part 2 has the edge. It's just so 80s... stylish direction, practical effects, and creepy as hell. I love it!
Hahaha thanks man!! I should be getting my first edition novel in the mail soon...gonna make for some interesting late night reading. I will let you know how it goes! 😆
The people who have lived in the house after the departure of the Lutz family never noticed anything strange, so it's safe to say that the story has been made up. That's not necessarily a problem. I don't believe for a moment that the events shown in The Conjuring, another movie that's supposedly based on a true story, really happened, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it as a horror movie. I don't believe in the supernatural, but I can appreciate a good haunted house movie.
Thanks for watching! I've read some stuff over the years about some things that have happened in the house since the Lutz's left. Hard to say if it's all paranormal or not...but you never know. I've always believed in ghosts and all of that myself. But I'm glad you are able to enjoy this on it's own, as just a movie. I feel like too many reviews just focus on the claims and let that affect their feelings on the film. As always, thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it!
It was my understanding that it was the Warrens that pushed the family into the story and that they are the ones who were debunked. But honestly, I don't know much about the "true" story. I'm not a believer in any of this kind of stuff. I need to revisit this movie. I watched a crappy version a few years ago and was kind of bored. I think a 4k might change my mind. I love the actors. Great review as always. Please keep them coming
Oh yeah, there's tons of info floating around out there about the true story. Lots of conflicting info too, that's why I really enjoyed the History's Mysteries docs. I definitely recommend watching Amityville Horror again, in a nice presentation. It's such a great flick. I also recommend the sequels too. Not the garbage stuff they have now, with all the cheap companies using the Amityville title to make a quick buck. But the stuff from the 80s and 90s. Great stuff. Thanks again for all the support, I really appreciate it!
@@RetroAnalogEntertainment I guess with retail you have to deal with the general public. You have my sympathies! Most people are incredibly dumb and undeserving of my time!😂
@@outpost31737 Oh yeah man, it can be very exhausting dealing with the public all day. I wasn't kidding when I said I basically turned into James Brolin here...although I didn't chase my wife around the house with an axe...we shall see what holiday season 2023 brings! 😆

It is such a fascinating story. The real life happenings are as interesting as the movie. And I hear you in the retail front, I'm glad you survived

Great review. Powerful film after all these years.
1:36 😂
And there is still no way in hell I'm watching this at night!

Thank you! I'll definitely pick it up!

I prefer "The Changeling" but this one is still solid.
I'm ashamed to admit this...but I haven't seen The Changeling! I've heard great things, though, and definitely wanna check it out.
@@RetroAnalogEntertainment I think you'll love it.
I think the sequel is actually more interesting. Though this one is more classic.
Amityville 2 is probably my favorite in the franchise. It's definitely the one I used to watch the most as a kid.

"True Story"
😆 Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Great review dude! Hope you've recovered😂 I will pass on the 4K release it's a con IMHO and I don't rate the film very highly. Worth a watch though :)
Thanks man! Hahaha my recovery after the holidays has been slow, but I'm getting there! 😅
