You're really amazing - helping three people to try to get the advanced treatment in Japan and meanwhile you're struggling with such pain every day. I hope that gets sorted! I assume you don't try to get those immunotherapy treatments every so often any more? Do you think they're the reason you're such an anomaly? (in the best of ways - with your survival since 2016) - well, I'm sure it's a whole list of reasons, but of course it's because of your intelligent research and self-advocacy, as well. Take care!

Thank you so much for your comment! I'm always happy when I know you've been watching my videos. I hope we can get to meet at some point.
My pain is manageable at the moment I eat small, light meals and take the medicines at the right times.(15 pills daily)
If things get much worse then I'll have to have the balloon angioplasty procedure again despite the (small) risk. It's a very tricky situation because although the risk is small the damage could be catastrophic if something goes wrong. Having said that, it's not unusual for people to have it 3 or 4 times. I'm meeting the surgeon again in May to discuss it.
Regarding my survival, I think the key factors are having a variety of treatments at the same time, and having a lot of treatment in total. This has been possible because of choosing less damaging treatments, and of course all the wonderful people donating to pay for my treatment.

Sorry I am new to your channel and haven't watched the whole video yet but just commenting to say it is amazing you are cancer free after 5 years where most people won't survive that long. Could you possibly be cured? I.e. it won't come back ever again?

Thank you for your comment, and thank you for watching my video.
It's certainly possible that I'm cured, meaning my body may be cancer-free, and the cancer may never return. With colon cancer recurrence tends to happen within the first 3 years (in cases where the patient reached NED: "No evidence of disease") I've been NED for 2 years, so I'm still not confident the cancer has gone forever. If I'm still NED in 12 months or so I'll feel much calmer :)

@@KaraMoon great big up man! You were stage 4 and most people in stage 4 bowel cancer don't live to 5 years and those who do are for the most part seriously ill but here you are cancer free. Although i don't know you i am very happy for you!

@@ninjaninja9954 Thank you for your kind comment. I think about 25% of people with stage 4 bowel cancer make it to 5 years. If however, the cancer has spread to the abdominal membrane, like mine has, 5-year survival is less than 1%.
