Great job my Toyota brother! I have 2008 Honda Accord with 348,600 miles and it was burning between 1.5 - 2 quarts in 4,000-5,000 miles. I started using Valv R&P 5w-20 at 340,000 miles. Burned only 1 qt to 345,000 miles. I’m now 3,600 miles into 2nd run of this oil and consumption is only at 1/8th of a qt. So I’m on pace for just under 1/4 qt in 5k miles. Stick with it and I’ll bet your consumption will reduce quite a bit but may take 3 or 4 oil changes just knowing where your starting point is. Don’t be discouraged if you gotta add a couple qts on this first run. Good luck!!
@briandenisefarmer333 Much appreciated 😁 and yeahh so far she's burned about 3/4 a quart in roughly 450 miles haha. Time will tell if it's gonna do its job and save it!
Hyundai Tucson was burning 1 qt every 1000 miles...now, after just one usage...down to 1/4 every 1000 miles...the pison rings are being cleaned...and can expand again.
My update. Just passed the 5,000 mile mark on this VR&P run. Official consumption is a slight tick under 1/2 quart. So oil consumption keeps improving !!
Just changed my first use on my Prius. Was shocked how much quieter the engine immediately sounded on the first start with this stuff. At 2.5K miles, the little bit of the valve train I can see through the filler cap hole is perfectly clean. Gonna run it for the rest of the rig’s serviceable life.
Make sure you change the filter in 500-700 miles. The filter is going to clog up quickly if that's how the inside of the engine looks through the oil fill cap.
I have a 2007 Toyota Matrix and want to try VRP but am worried that it might start a leak. The fact that you have been using it over a year must mean no leaks for your Vibe.
@revbikerbigd8664 most cars have enough safty margin built In that an extra half quart to 1 full quart won't hurt anything, you have to overfill it by multiple quarts to start damaging things. You have to remember that the level in the pan drops by about half with the engine running with the oil being pumped through the bearings and to the top half of the engine. Even almost 1 quart over full my oil level sits at the halfway mark with the engine running. its not "full" all the time. as far as blowing seals, that's also mostly a myth with modernish cars and again would require 2-3+ quarts worth of overfilling the oil to fill the pan enough to reach the seals, There wont be excess pressure because the crankcase ventilation exists for that reason, It releases all crankcase pressure the engine generates.
Judging by the oil cap and the inside of the valve cover this car has suffered from lack of maintenance. The R&P will only do so much it can’t restore the metal that was worn away prematurely due to the neglect.
I just ran Liqui Moly engine flush through a 200k mile Hyundai. The pleats in the oil filter were full of chunky debris. I bet the Valvoline will do the same. Clean that sludge out.
@@TechMaster2133 recently I bought a 2012 Honda Accord with 120K miles. As I wasn’t sure about the previous service history, I ran some Liqui-Moly Engine Flush before I did my first oil change (within a week after I got the car.) My oil drain after that flush came out dark brown but still translucent. 2025 I will try 3 oci’s worth of the Valvoline R&P and see if that will help clean it out. I’m just crossing my fingers that this isn’t “snake oil”. 🤞🏼

Judging by the oil cap, the engine has plenty of crud in it. Therefore the oil will darken much faster than normal. That will probably worry you. Likely it will take a few thousand miles to loosen up the rings, so oil consumption reduces. 🤔

VRP's Additive Package seems to do a good job of Suspending the various "gunk" it is breaking down and leaving in the Oil Filter.
