    Dope video and beat! Another way I found to duplicate your 2 bar loop to a 4 bar one is holding shift and record and then hitting the plus button

    I use the master compressor how you use the internal one. Gets you an extra effect out of the whole process. In fact, when I start a new project on the box, I immediately go into master compressor and turn EVERYTHING down and then when loading up my samples, i make sure none of them top out on the meter...like they'll just BARELY touch red. That way when I cook the comrpessor, I got room to turn stuff up WAY loud to get that sidechain duck feel.

    • @TaylorBoy
      @TaylorBoy  2 місяці тому

      Cool, I used to do the master compressor that way before I started doing it this way in the video. I just sample my drums in at a moderate level, usually right below the purple line on the meter, because like you said I have room to turn everything up once I turn on the CMP effect. I might have to play around with your technique to give me an extra boost. Appreciate you watching the vid!

    Thanks for a great video! I just got my EP-133 yesterday, and is blown away by how fun it is to use.
    Dumb question: Is it possible to have more than 48 samples on the device at once (given the storage doesn't run out)? Teenage Engineering says that it can store up to 999 samples (?). Every group (A-D) only has 12 sample slots, so I have yet to figure out how to load more into the device.

    • @TaylorBoy
      @TaylorBoy  Місяць тому

      It allows up to 999 samples in storage and 48 samples per project. However depending on how long your samples are, you may hit your 64mb limit and run out of space for all 999.
      In order to load more sounds you’ll need to sample new sounds into the device or use the online sample tool to drag and drop samples into it.

    How do you adjust the velocity on the hats to get like ghost notes on the mpc?

    • @TaylorBoy
      @TaylorBoy  28 днів тому +1

      Turn off the pad sensitivity in settings.
      If you’ve already recorded the high hats, use the step sequencer and on the high hats that you want to adjust, hit shift and the orange knob to adjust it.

  • @zenotdsTV

    Great way to avoid voice stealing. Just one question, does pitch and other settings specific to the sound need to be set for each single pad where the sound is copied on or will it affect them all? I'm getting my ep 133 later this week and I'm kinda devouring tutorials in the meanwhile XD

    • @TaylorBoy
      @TaylorBoy  4 місяці тому +3

      After you copy everything, you can then use the fader to adjust the pitch and other settings with the whole group. In the sound edit mode, adjustments will just be made to each specific pad.

  • @boxprogramming13
    @boxprogramming13 5 місяців тому

    Does copying the sample to the other pads eat up more memory or nah? If not that's a great hack

    • @TaylorBoy
      @TaylorBoy  5 місяців тому +2

      Nope! It doesn’t eat up the memory because it’s the same sample.

    Hey bro, what cable do you use to connect the EP-133 to the sound card?

    wait, sorry whats the benefit of choppingg this way as opposed to the normal? how does it save voices?

    • @TaylorBoy
      @TaylorBoy  3 місяці тому

      The point wasn’t to save voices it was a way to take more control of chopping samples rather than being constricted to the chop mode. It’s just another way to be more creative on a device that is already limited. I just said by doing it this way (copy/paste), your voice count will not be affected.

    • @beenmicrophone5817
      @beenmicrophone5817 3 місяці тому

      @TaylorBoy so, I'm guessing that means when u chop the original way, no individual pitch, envelope, pan, key mode etc?

    • @TaylorBoy
      @TaylorBoy  3 місяці тому

      You still can do all of that when you chop regular.
      Chop mode is basically a lazy chop. As the sample plays, you hold down each pad for your desired length until you run out of pads or sample time.
      This technique I showed you is basically micro chopping random pieces of the sample.
