But I prefer to use the potentiometer terminals (instead of cutting them) than the smaller and fragile ones of the trimpot.

Edit : it's OK for low usage cases but that trimpot is only rated for 200 turns. Very short life where as regular potentiometer is rated for 1000s of turns.
