Just on an update here: Fauzia seems to have been dropped from ABC weekend breakfast apparently for compiling an ALP troll list on twitter and breaking impartiality. Ouch...
The fact he had to repeat "At no stage did I do that" multiple times, and she STILL ignored him and kept going with her completely incorrect statement is atrocious. She's like every FOX news "reporter" who just talks over anyone they don't like. Completely disgraceful.
She clearly had an agenda and loaded questions. “I checked your website” translates to I went looking for a gotcha moment” Get rid of her. She is tarnishing our ABC
He did shift his point of view regarding antigen tests to be subsidised for those on low income. @@kaantekin-sari5967 Thanks for the link. Channel 9 did report that he shifted his position. I've searched everywhere I could think of to try to validate their reporting though and I can't find anything he said, wrote, posted or tweeted advocating that RATS be subsidised for people on low incomes. Maybe I've haven't checked everywhere though. Could you help me out? Do you remember reading or hearing any time he said that? Would really appreciate a link too if you have one. Thanks!
Calling Albanese out? For not demanding RAT tests - before they were even approved? Probably the worst political interview I've ever seen. And I'm not a 'loonie'!
That's not investigative journalism, it's making loud speeches and talking over the top of your guest even when they're telling you that what you're saying isn't true. The interviewer is more interested in making antagonistic statements than asking questions and getting answers.
She is trying to establish herself as a'hard-hitting' journo, she couldn't do it at her weekend gig. Being rude to interviewees and making erroneous statements isn't 'calling anyone out', it's unprofessional journalism. She should apply for a job with Sky News.
Asking questions isn’t the problem, not waiting for a reply is the problem. She’s no journalist, she’s nothing more than an opportunistic shill trying to point score. Pathetic.
No shit. This is embarrassing. If you can't see how bad this reporting and "journalism" is then I don't really know what to say.. ABC has lost all credibility. State sponsored mouth piece.
This isn't really about politics. My views on either side remain neutral. It's really about just very, very bad interviewing. She's obviously trying to show off here and make an impression and appears to be very inexperienced. Good interviewing is like steering a ship, you have to let it all flow along smoothly. She didn't listen, had no capacity to change the conversation and follow along from his answers and also appeared to be poorly researched because once he pointed out that her information was outdated and no longer the position of his party, she just refused to listen and kept banging on. If they could teach how *not* to do a live tv interview in journalism classes - this would be the benchmark.
She was obviously uninformed and out of her depth. But the above arrogance of Kaan Tekin-Sar to talk of "loonies on social media are losing their minds over this interview" is laughable! In no way did she call out Albanese!
Yes their political bias was certainly obvious! Reading through the comments they didn't get the support they were obviously hoping for either and that gives me hope that the country is waking up to this low level of journalism.
What a loose canon of a presenter Fauziah Ibrahim is with no interviewing skills whatsoever, she had an agenda she wanted to spruik in favour of the current LNP government & was looking for a gotcha moment with Anthony Albanese that backfired on her big time!!
10 in 3 months which is less than 1 a week. The shortage in supply is due to LNP planning failures. scott morrison and all staff in his office's have access to free RAT's so he made sure they were looked after 1st
Speaking over the top of someone else, when you've asked a question, is rude. Giving her opinion, misquoting, very unprofessional. "Getting onboard" and "joined the chorus" very dismissive, emotive descriptors. I will be watching Ibrahim to see how she interviews Morrison next - will it be a similar attack?
Probably the worst, rudest, least researched and ignorant interview I have ever seen conducted on TV. This woman has obviously never been trained properly on how to ask questions, and not to be outright rude. You ask a question, you wait for a response - you do not just talk over the interviewee. She should apologise publicly, then resign. Failing that, the ABC should sack her.
Such a rude and disrespectful interviewer. She needs to learn how to keep people to track...but hey, just talking over them over and over again. Disgusting!
She is hopeless - - the weekends aren't worth watching. Her questions ramble on for too long as well. The way she's tried to craft them to defend the Fed Govt which is an impossible ask anyway........it was unwatchable!!
Had to come and re-watch this interview in light of recent developments around Ibrahim's employment. I guess those who wrote to the ABC following this interview citing concerns around her conduct were entirely valid.
@@kaantekin-sari5967 Judging by all your other uploads and your description on this video, you're one of these simpletons that sorts the world into two hard categories. Watched this when it happened and was gob smacked. Very bad interview indeed. I’m sure Albo moved on with his day after this with a head shake and a WTF. I’m sure he’s had some howler interviews in his lengthy career but this one would be up there 😂
LOL you think she is calling Albo out??? She just looked rude and like a screecher, what is wrong with people that anyone could think this was a good interview?
Fauziah Ibrahim is not a reporter, she is an ABC presenter & hopefully soon she will be an ex-ABC presenter & probably be applying for a job with Sky news as going by this effort she would fit in perfectly there!!
Although a fail on her part, I think that it is great that an ABC journo at least tried to do a hard hitting interview with the opposition... We need the ABC to try to be as impartial as possible....
For more backlash" information just go and take a look at the anger being engendered on Twitter. Really she should go and work for fox news...she fits the LNP bias bill or maybe not, even they probably, would not be happy with this style of interviewing - too, too rude!
Just an update: the federal government will make the rapid antigen tests free to those who hold a concession/health care card, including to those who are immuno-compromised for free on January 24th.
So, Albo stood his ground and respectfully made his point and his point is that the RAT tests should be free to everyone regardless of where ones income comes from. Ibrahim is just doing her job as a journalist and checking what has been said by other media outlets. You can't hate on her for that. I watch the BAC news all the time and she is a good journalist/reporter/anchor. Ibrahim is more than capable of taking on any politician and she does.
Just another thing guys, I wanted to see the interview context regarding the online backlash as it's not available. I do find it inconsistent that Anthony said on TV that he's not satisfied that HCC holders, concession and others to get subsidies for these tests ought to get their heads checked.
If you have problems understanding/parsing English, don't start a critique based on being able to UNDERSTAND AND PARSE the English language, or comprehension of what was stated by Mr Albanese. Like other advanced countries, he wants the tests to be freely available to all...notwithstanding their immediate availability (which starts another whole conversation about failure of this government)

Albo did a great job. He made some excellent, clear points despite being interviewed and harangued by that unprofessional failure of a ‘journalist’.
Does she have the Qualifications to be a journalist or is she just a presenter on the ABC
