Mikele Buck - Irish Road

- Mikele Buck was the first artist I ever recorded around 5 years ago. He introduced me to many great song writers and quickly became one of my good fishing and hunting confidants/ buddies. After his time oversees mikele prefers only to bow hunt and would rather not use a gun on any living creature, which is understandable. This is one of my favorite songs he has written that I have listened to for quite some time, we finally got to get together with Mikele and my buddy David from @TruthfulSessions do a proper recording of this one.

Irish Road
We spun round In resurrection
Laying Rest to wayward souls
We never saw our future
Had only memories to hold
Of a place much rich and greener
I left my West Virginia home
I gambled all I had away to walk down the
Irish road
This place is dry and barren
But they say Jesus walked these streets
Keep a bible right beside my head
Each night when I’m asleep
Well I used to not believe it
But Mama prayed to save my soul
Cause Lucifer’s alive and well
He lives down the Irish Road
Chorus
I prayed Saint Brigid come and save me
Before the Devil takes control
What once was a heart of gold
Is now as Black as Coal
I swear I see the faces
I laid beneath the cobble stones
Every night they come and Haunt me
From Down the Irish Road
They set fire to Armageddon
I rained the brass down in the sand
He cried out for Janie
As he reached and took my hand
Now the piper man’s a blowing
While the angels take him home
Saint Micheal lost another son
Down the Irish road
I prayed Saint Brigid come and save me before the Devil takes Control
What once was a heart of gold
Is now as black as coal
I swear I see the faces
I laid beneath the cobble stones
Every night they come and haunt me
From down the Irish road
Every night they come and haunt me
From down the Irish Road
wish you would pin this to the top !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Salute..........
Lucifer's alive and well down the Irish Road has more truth than anyone realizes
Ever think of a song, about Amos Miller, the Amish Farmer, who sells raw milk. The media would like to bury the story from the public, ears. From the informal American public.
Operated my crane there, picking up the pieces. Memories of melted aluminum and bloodstains are still heavy. Spent a total of five years and eight months in the Middle east. It was my honor to serve you kids and be part of the effort. I spent so much time with 10Mtn. I think they were our security. Whoever? where ever? You kids made me proud. We are Family.
I wanna thank everyone for the love!!!! I just held the pen. Woke up at 4 am and it poured out of me. God bless my brothers and sisters.
I still wake up at odd hours of the night as well since coming home and it’s been 6 years.Thank you brother and God Bless America.
God's instrument brother
Your song sparked a conversation between me and my dad and our service and what happened to him and his unit in IRAQ. Without this song there’s a lot of things I wouldn’t know. Things I can tell my future grandchildren about their grandpa and his brothers and sisters
@mikelebuckband Thanks for your service and bravery on the road. I can sense the weight on your heart with this song and I hope you have found ways to deal with the grief/pain of your experiences. Without men and women like you I wouldn't be able to be as free as I am here in the US, so again thank you and everyone else who has served and sacrificed for our freedoms. Cheers bro.
Ngl I teared up a bit
I’m sure most of y’all know this but there is still proud Americans who stand for the anthem and place their hands on their hearts not for the government but for you hero’s love you guys and ladies.
You’re fuckin right there are 🇺🇸
Lord I wish this is what we could hear when we turn the radios on in our cars.
God Bless.
Spent a year patrolling Route Irish. That damn road claimed the best of us. I saw the best and worst that humanity has to offer on that road. Looks like we were there at the same time. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for your service and all the sacrifice you made 🙏
🙏🏽
You’re a real life superhero
@@T-MoGamingHardly, but thank you for your support.
I drove down Route Irish on several occasions in 2006. Great song, and I very much appreciate this fellow Veteran for making it. 😢😞
Thank you for your service 🙏
I was probably with you? I was in the corps in 06. The main road I think of we called old concrete road if my memory is correct? It was by a base called alkim I know I spelled that wrong. It was next to a concrete factory. That road had tons of ieds. We had a lot of trouble going to a small base called kv. Kvs road was similar to normal highways in a way. The roads were misleading they also had a lot of ieds. One hit next to my truck outside of kv. I thought it was an rpg because in the middle of the desert, there was a car that turned its lights on and hauled ass. If you know the roads I'm talking about, reach out if you don't mind. As always, be safe and enjoy life.

Mike who were you with? I was in Iraq from the fall 2006- spring of 2007. I flew with 53’s with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 465.
The place where I think you’re talking about was Al Qaim (AQ). That was the FOB out there in the desert where they had the huge concrete plant. I used to fly into there and we always had problems.
Korean Village (KV) was another one out there in bad guy country.
Ar Rutbah was another hellhole we used to hit frequently.
If I remember correctly we called that main highway MSR Golf or Gold. I can’t remember that, but I remember seeing the convoys getting hit. I have some bad memories of flying over that road.
Semper Fi brother. I hope life is treating you well. 🇺🇸
Mr. Buck and I did many patrols together- we were the first IED hunters and I for one am honored to have done such a heinous job. Great song, Buck. OIF2 03-05
Respect 💯💯

Thank you!
Thank you for your service 🙏
That song brings me back there just being there with the brothers was the best days of my life
My brother gave his life in 2004. Anbar Province. I don't know that he ever traveled this road, but he may well have. Godspeed to our veterans who he died to bring home.
and i swear to see the faces... so so deep. my brother has told me war stories and he still sees faces, war is so sad. thank you for your service
A brother sent this to me. Between 05-07 we put hundreds of miles down Irish, mostly just the beginning of our missions only to go do some hood rat stuff deeper in the outskirts of the city. Powerful song my dude, got me choked up a bit. I’ve never heard of you till now, you’ve got a new fan. 🤙🏼
2003 done that road many a time down to the airport. We were OGA so get no thanks, but we were there with you and shared that ground with the combat vets. We feel what you feel and appreciate the poetic words of this song. God bless you and all that served in combat.
Right on brother, many a friend that were in your group. I know well the program. We were all fortunate with a heavy price, but cant imagine spending that decade doing anything else.If you know any Infadel Originals then you know me...
Thank you sir
Same, Brother. OGA 2002 - 2010. Thank you for your service.
Thank you for your service 🙏
Salute !
Wow! What an amazing song! Thank you so much for your service to the USA 🇺🇸 As the wife of a USMC veteran, those words you sang hit close to home! My husband served…I stayed home with our children, that’s how I served. I sent my husband to a place I’d never heard of, and they brought him back to me a little different, but he came home! God bless you and thank you for sharing your gift of music 🎶 🇺🇸 🦅
Thank you both for your service!!! Respect!!! May The Almighty's protection,,,blessings,,,mercy,,, forgiveness & most importantly His love be upon you & your family. Semper Fi !!!
@@SOG-xb4qh thank you
@@SassyAF. Very welcome,,,Warrior on!!!
When I got home from my first tour. There was a Medal waiting for me. A Civilian, Meritorious Service Award. ( Long story ) It had a handwritten thank you note in the envelope. Signed by Both George Bush and Laura.
When you proudly said you "stayed home with the children", I thought of that medal.
They come with a medal and various-sized ribbons. My wife took the smallest one and said. "This is mine. I earned it." I could not agree more. We, are, Family. When one serves all serve
Thank your husband, my Brother, for me.
@@shellbackllc that made my entire year!! Sometimes when a comment on the internet comes when you need it, well, you just need it and it’s appreciated beyond words! God bless you ♥️ 🇺🇸 🦅
I was the convoy commander on that mess for 16 months
Thank uou for your service to your country! My son was in Afghanistan, and he traveled some dangerous roads, but then again, they all are. My son made it home safe 🙏. I'm glad you made it through your many dangerous trips down the " Irish Road" and safe at home. From a military family and love your song.🙏🍁🇮🇪☘️⚔️
So many trips up and down route Irish. Good and bad memories but I came home, many didn't. Songs like this bring back so many memories. May everyone give a thought to the fallen. See you all at the reorganisation brothers and sisters RIP. 🇬🇧🇺🇸🏴

OH RA!!!
Damn dude, that’s one hell of a song! Always hated it, but sometimes I miss it.
From one Army combat vet to another: Thank you.
Good song for all who had the misery of having white knuckled the trip down Rt Irish, the Baghdad Airport road.
I was lucky enough not to travel Rt Irish much as I was always moving through the city in Iraqi vehicles preferably or armored SUV’s when I worked for State Dept. No way I wanted to be insurgent target practice on that road. I had to take it though the day I left Baghdad. For that I had to take the Rhino, the armored bus out. Most on the bus were leaving and the mood was celebratory till the driver and gunner got on. The driver strapped himself in, putting on his helmet and then he and the gunner prayed, the gunner kneeling double kneed on the hard metal floor. They prayed for sometime holding hands asking for Gods help to survive another trip. The whole group quieted, sobered by the intensity of the praying. The rest of the trip was quiet.
I knew the danger. Though I had rarely had the misfortune of traveling Irish, the attacks were so frequent almost every day we were briefed on casualties, bombings, attacks there. The tragedy of it struck home when half the personal protection team I usually road with to my State Dept meetings was killed on Irish.
I ran into one of the Blackwater guys just after he had survived the attack. He said they would do ‘milk runs’ for the embassy to pick up mail and packages in the mornings, driving out and back fast to the airport, when they were hit. A heavy machine gun was firing from an overpass with armor piercing rounds that went right through both vehicles. The survivors bailed out, hiding in a ditch as the team firing on them continued to chop them apart. He said they all would have been dead but right then a miracle happened. An Apache perfectly rolled over on the team attacking them, taking out the heavy machine gun and supporting fire. He put an arm out flat indicating the overpass and the heavy machine gun at one end, rolling his other hand over to indicate the Apache turning down firing.
He said the dead insurgents had Russian passports and the attack was so well coordinated they suspected they were Chechen’s. I remember how pale and calm he was telling me about it despite most of the team just having been killed a few hours before and almost him as well.
To all who traveled the Irish Road.
What a powerful and beautiful song! Thank you!
God is surely smiling down on you, Mikele.
WOW! That is a beautiful song. What a talent!
Thanks for your service!!🇺🇲🇺🇲 Great song
Thank you so much. Most of our music just pokes fun at stuff experienced. Never "go there" for real music about Iraq and Afghanistan. Way to man up and getting real.
❤🎉 thank you and all service men and women for your service! God bless each of you! ❤🎉
Thank you for your service. You are so right , life is a never ending fight against lucifer the devil. So thankful for the FATHER ,SON & HOLY SPIRIT.

Thank you Mikele for sharing this with all of us.
Thank you for this song brother, 21yrs Army here! I dont think there has been a better song to reflect on my time in Baghad. Spent most of 07-08 up and down them sh*t roads during the height of The Surge
What an absolute beautiful song and fantastic delivery on your performance. Felt every word.
God bless the greatest nation to have ever assembled.
- Your ally across the pond..
🇰🇷 🤝 🇺🇸 ✝️ ❤️
If the tribal elites didn't need to be "rich & greener" among other things then we wouldn't be writing songs like like this. But they do and you did.
Beautiful song, perfectly written and played. Thank you for your offering.
Keep the spirit friend
🤠🤘🏼❤️
RPG alley - I remember it well
Infantry gives the most and receives the least.....great song...had my time too
It just does not get any better then this!!!
Wow that was very moving. If this doesn’t get picked up and go to number one on the charts there’s something very wrong with the country music industry. Best wishes good luck 🤞
I spent many nights on Rte Irish Jackson. It's a frightening place.

This song will never be mainstream popular because not enough people can connect with it, and I hope to live my life in a way that earns that. Thank you.
Great song. This is my brother in arms. Great Music artist and great soldier. Keep writing and singing bro. You are doing great.🎉
Awesome and thank you for your service
Brings back some memories. I road down Irish twice a day from the Green Zone to BIAP between 2004 to 2006. Even though driving "low profile" helped, it didn't stop us from getting hit on multiple occasions. Can't believe the crazy stuff we got ourselves out of back then.
Beautiful voice and great job on the harmonica! RadioWV has another great one!
Cheers man thanks for this OIF 06-08. Appreciate these words Brother.
Beautiful haunting song. Thank you for your service. May God bless, and protect all that serve. *All gave some, and some gave all.*

I traveled that road a lot in Iraq! Including the first time it was traveled during the Thunder Runs of the invasion. I was a staff sergeant in SF Task Force 3/15 infantry, of the 3rd Infantry Division.
Yep. Been on that stretch. Beautiful song!
Had to look this up what a beautiful song
