Egypt has lost it`s hegemony over the Nile River, and Egypt can not get it back. Why?: 1. African growt. 11/20 the contry`s that has had the highest growt in the world, is now Aferican. 2. African poplutaian growt, have created more needs.
3. Internet, and the easy access to information, has put pressue on the gowerments upstream. 3. Egypt`s corruption, and therefore Eygpt`s economic and military development has been weak for decades. Conclution: The extrem gorwt and development in most of the upstream contrys will most likeley continue, and may even get stronger. The treat to Egypt is not GERD, it is that now everyone can irrigate and pump up water, in an industrial scale. Solution: Save water, grow other products (not cotton, rice, diary products to rich Arabic contrys), reduce evaporation in Lake Nasser (lower the water). The reel solution for Egypt is to buy water from DRC, it is easy to move water from The Congo river baisin.
