Plunger coffee black. Plunge immediately after 90°C hot water. No expensive equipment no fancy 20 stage process no nothings. Just bang bang bang good coffee. Science agrees with this. Also sweet and caffeine. You'all ripped off.
I'm going to put this here because I haven't shared this with anyone yet....I was 349 pounds in July and I was tired of living that way. Been doing a lot of eating less and eating better foods. Also fasting lots and exercising when I can. Today I'm down to 263. I still have work to do but I can move better and I don't get as tired. I'm 42 and have been overweight all my life. I don't wanna go back to the way it was. Only forward. I'm looking forward to be able to do more!
Awesome job!!! Congrats! And inspiration to all to move around more and eat better and yes -- fast here and there, it's a great thing to do. You've shown that it works.
That is amazing. Be proud of yourself and keep your eyes on living healthier. remember that sometimes a journey has many loops. Kind of like hiking down a mountain with a trail that circles it. There will be times you are "100 feet" from the village at the hill but you can't walk there (still high on the mountain) and you might feel like your are circling in the wrong direction. DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED. Push forward and focus on being happier and healthier and things will come together.
As a weight lifter, this might not apply to everyone, but protein shakes. Pure protein is my favorite. I’m never hungry. Two of those and I’m ready to lift a school bus. But I won’t. Because it’s full of kids, and that would be dangerous. So I just lift the weights in stead. After ensuring no children are in them. Never be too careful.
@@CharleGodin I think you’re intentionally misinterpreting what I said. Of course people can gain weight quickly, but no one puts on 20,30,40 pounds literally overnight. And it’s only the most rare conditions that will cause someone to gain dozens of pounds in a month, in which case they need significantly more than a better diet and workout routine. Don’t be so cynical.
biggest game changer for me was just eating the (unhealthy) foods i like, but just in smaller quantities. i love sweets (candy, cookies, ice cream, etc). every time i have tried to cut those out, i crash and burn. now i eat sweets every day, but just a small serving after dinner or as a snack. i don’t feel deprived AND when i do indulge and eat more sweets like i used to, it makes me feel sick.
I think that might be the way for me too. Every time I have tried to cut sugar / chocolate completely I felt miserable. now I try to recognise what am I actually craving and enjoying (mostly chocolate or a chocolate baked good, something were I really enjoy the taste and texture, not just the sweetness). I mix my own Müsli out of oats, almonds, blueberries and cocoa nibs and allow myself a sweet dessert after fibre and protein based meals. Try to downsize the amount of this dessert still though and sometimes when I am stressed I still overindulge but it is a journey
@@kaltespopcorn4087 I agree! I obviously know that cutting those foods out altogether would mean quicker weight loss, but quick weight loss has never stuck for me before. the only way i’ve successfully lost weight is slowly over a long time. so, gotta make that long time as enjoyable as possible!
I am the same! Whenever I try too hard to cut things out I end up binging on way more, having small amounts of the things I want (not just sweets but also unhealthy savoury foods) accompanied by extra fibre (eg Nutella on apple slices rather than chocolate alone, burger and salad rather than fries) it satisfies the craving without derailing me
I am different, I can't do moderation and I can't love broccoli and apples when I've recently tasted something so hyper-palatable. I'm very glad if it's working for you though!
I've noticed as one gets better at cooking you start to understand what "whole foods" even means beyond the positive/negative connotations as a media buzzword. E.g., There's no added sugar in your pasta sauce if you make it from a raw can of tomatoes (and it's cheaper). Whereas a jar of prego might as well be an Italian inspired tomato flavored cake frosting.
I love this no-nonsense, not trying to sell anything, "here's my experience" approach Craig. Weight loss is such a tricky subject, and I usually hate myself and feel overwhelmed when I engage in content around it. Not with you. It feels approachable and friendly and without all the high-stakes language of fitfluencers. I appreciate that a lot.
@hannahjohnson4885 the problem isnt that he has sponsors, no one cares. People are just calling you out for saying a blatantly incorrect statement lol
I will always appreciate your layman's experience to these things. It feels more real, especially because you explain the mistakes you made and how you learned from them.
Fellow reading-the-comments-ers: recognize the additional complications women face losing weight. You have to balance hormones, and your body is going to hang on to fat harder. Don’t get disappointed if you’re not experiencing doubt digit weight loss at a time. It’s just harder
Thank you for this. I get upset then say f it and do it all over again. This time ima stick it tho bc I now know it’s hormones/age/takes more time than what it did it my early and late twenties.
I thought so too, but I recently lost weight more easily than ever despite those things. My favorite helps: Dr Gregor's books, Chef AJ here, Well Your World Here and Simnett Nutrition here. Chef AJ talks about calorie density and Dr Gregor has a free app related to his books called "the daily dozen."
Im almost 28 and trying to lose weight. As someone who has had eating disorders in the past and finally healed my relationship with food, it's crazy how much i used to eat when i was obsessing over food. Now, it's something that runs in the background, and i notice now that I'm trying to lose weight in a healthy way. It's definitely a slow, steady process. I've already lost 2 pounds this month, and I'm determined to lose 9 more by the middle of the year. There will be days I eat more calories, but it's important to have balance! Healthy mindset is so important when it comes to healthy weightloss.
I ate a mandarin orange as a snack the other day and it was truly so sweet. It was like candy. I was amazed. My mom's birthday was yesterday, and I had a slice of cake. Luckily, it wasn't heavily frosted because I think i wouldn't have enjoyed that. The cake itself was fine, not too sweet but I don't want anymore 😅
Same thing with artificial sweeteners, too. Once you reduce or eliminate added sweeteners, sugar or artificial, you start noticing it more when you eat something that does. I had a sample of a drink recently and the only taste that stood out was the artificial sucralose in it 😅
As a runner of 7 marathons to date, I’m can say that running won’t create weight loss unless you also control your portion sizes at mealtime and resist snacking. No amount of exercise can make up for poor eating habits if you want to lose weight. I learned this at Weight Watchers. Yes, I’m not too proud to admit that I joined. I was training for a marathon and wanted to qualify for Boston, but I didn’t feel like I would unless I lose the weight. WW helped. I learned good lessons about healthy eating. Lost the weight, running got faster, happy ending, mostly. Maintenance is tough too. As an aside, I read that every pound of weight you lose, can translate to 2min faster in the marathon.
I've lost a fair bit of weight twice in my life (pandemic times weren't great for me so I had to do it again). First time was achieved without changing my diet at all and doing 30 minutes of cardio every day. Second time was achieved with literally zero regular exercise and just being in a calorie deficit. I'm also just some guy and not an expert, but this worked for me. If it helps anyone who feels like reading a too-long UA-cam comment, cool! Stuff I learned: - Sustainability matters the most. Don't treat it as "I'll do this thing and then stop", treat it as "I'll make healthy changes now and maintain them". Drastic changes, which my "diet change only" weight loss very much was, aren't great for you and can put you at risk of disordered eating. - Allow yourself to eat unhealthy stuff you like - just moderate it. You're not going to maintain a healthy, sustainable diet if you're never allowed to eat your favourite treat again. - If you're losing weight primarily by eating less - make sure you keep your protein intake high enough. I lost a lot of muscle in the process, which took even more work to gain back. - It all comes down to being in a caloric deficit. If your diet isn't terrible, you can get great results by exercising. If your diet is terrible, start with making it not terrible. And exercise too... but if you're eating like 5000 calories per day of junk food, no realistic, sustainable amount of exercise is going to put you in a caloric deficit - Needing to drive everywhere sucks and makes everything harder. Relying on walking and public transit to get places gives me free exercise all the time. If you can, drive less and walk more. - Be aware of water weight. It can inflate your actual weight by like 5 or more pounds, depending on your size. Its fluctuations can mask weight loss, or also exaggerate it when you start out.
kind of needed this video honestly. All of 2024 i was on a weighloss journey, down 40lbs, still honestly probably need to lose another 40lbs to be where I want to be, but last few months have basically been one big plateau and its definitely hard to stay motivated.
It's hard to be on a plateau when you've been working hard! I realized this winter that I usually gain a bunch of weight from December to April or May, then lose some over the summer and fall. So I'm hoping if I just avoid the weight gain this winter, I'll already be ahead of the game for summer ... right? 😅
Oh man... Now I remember why I subscribed to your channel... I didn't watch your videos for a long time, but today again... And it was so funny... I like your humour 🎉🎉🎉❤❤
My favourite weight loss tip is make a “fat bag” fill a decent bag (IKEA bags are great for this!) with things that weigh the same as what you’ve lost (I’m using water bottles and soda cans mostly) so you can pick it up every now and again to remind yourself what you’ve lost. Just over 10kg so far here which starts to get annoying to lift/carry.
As someone who has yo-yoed a bunch and is on their way back down, I definitely never paid attention to the feelings of hunger. ‘Am I stuffed? Then I’m not hungry’ was my thought process. I recently heard of thinking about your hunger as a scale of 1-10. 1 being starving, 10 being throwing up from being full. I would always eat to like an 8, maybe 9. But you really want to sit between a 4-6 throughout the day.
Something that helped me in the last couple of years is that "It's okay to feel hungry." I only eat between 11a and 7p... and I actually like the feeling of being a little hungry around 9p. I'll drink water or tea and see if it goes away... I find that it's usually because that's the time I used to have snacks. I've come to actually embrace the hungry feelings and tell myself, "It's not eating time, so you're probably not hungry."
@@EricaGamet. Great comment. 100%. I tell myself that being hungry is good: it doesn’t hurt, it can be a bit annoying though. I can do annoying, knowing that I’m losing weight and working toward my goal weight. The other idea is to “embrace the suck”, a mantra used by people doing more extreme exercise or adventures.
Close to my three "pillars" of overall being healthy. 1. How and what you eat 2. How much you move 3. Your general attitude/outlook in life. Are you a half full person or a half empty type of person.
I am a huge fan of the “try things” mentality. I once did 31 Songs in 31 days because I wanted to expand my repertoire on the ukulele. I am currently trying a 90 Day Plant Based challenge. I have seen you do things like this before and I too love it when the coffee’s…”
My favorite plant based people here if you want meal ideas! Simnett Nutrition, Chef AJ, and Well Your World (the granola is SOOOOO amazing and has great cost performance). I wonder if you won't go back if you try all of Simnett Nutrition's sauces?
so, three years ago, i got a diagnosis that explained why i wasn't losing weight despite doing much of the things in this video. if you have rapid weight loss or weight gain, that may also point to a medical issue. go to an actual medical doctor (if you can afford it, if its accessible), an actual certified dietitian, an actual certified personal trainer. getting help is not a bad thing.
This is the strategy that I now follow and am finally seeing success. Start by adopting an eating pattern that you would need to maintain at your first goal-whether that’s being 10 lbs lighter or fitting into a shirt that’s currently too small. Focus on the habits required to sustain that weight without gaining it back. This includes swaps that help manage hunger, like staying hydrated, addressing nutrient deficiencies, understanding emotional eating triggers, and avoiding blood sugar spikes and cravings. Once this becomes normal, and if you haven’t yet reached that goal weight, try a more restrictive diet. Allow yourself to fail and return to the healthy habits you’ve already practiced. The goal is to practice bouncing back to a safe, sustainable eating pattern. Once you hit your first goal and maintain it, set a new one and repeat. Visualize how your goal self would handle different situations. During restrictive phases, don’t stress about exercise beyond a minimum level. But during maintenance phases, increase your exercise to ensure your eating pattern remains sustainable in the long run.
Very solid advice, I must say. Definitely agree with the point on protein & fiber. I just read a book on keeping your blood sugar steady for weight loss and the tips are really working for me! I'm happy for you for getting to this very healthy place in your life :)
One thing I would like to add about sugar. It’s my understanding that companies that make fruit juice drinks like orange juice get away with adding sugar by removing and refining the sugars from oranges and then adding them back into the juice. It’s not fresh squeezed juice. Every ingredient has been extracted and separated and then refined. This is also why the flavor remains consistent from package to package and year to year.
In most countries there are rules for that, products where I live have to have a different name/special label if they don't come 100% from fresh fruit and for example made from concentrate or have added sugars.
@sm0k1nggnu_ In the US, companies have to disclose ingredients, but not everyone understands them. For example, most OJ in the store is made from concentrate and re-hydrated with a much lower ratio of water making it significantly sweeter. Juice concentrate is in a lot of foods and because there's no fiber like there would be in a whole fruit, it's pure sugar.
@@Erin-rg3dw indeed, not many know what “from concentrate” means. I didn’t understand until recently. From concentrate doesn’t lead one to understand that the sugars were concentrated and like you mentioned fibers removed.
15:59 say it again. I think audience always forgets that maybe these people are just ridiculously good at the one thing that they made a channel around
Watching this video, you seemed to be relating my weight loss journey! 😂 For me, the biggest single change was to move to intermittent fasting as my default, with meals at midday and 6pm. This has helped me lose 25 kgs (55 lbs) and has taken me out of the pre-diabetic stage I was in.
I finally tried a medically supervised weight loss program and it was a game changer. The other thing that was key was taking an entire year and not gaining more. Yes. A whole year. I tracked calories on and off but not in a deficit. So I basically did maintenance first, then lost 40 very stubborn lbs. now I know how to do maintenance so I’m not worried about gaining it back.
In January 2024 my eyesight went blurry from eating bad, I am diabetic. I gave up bread, carbs, and sugar. Lost a lot of weight and settled into a keto diet. I do have bread now but keto bread and very few slices like 2 a day. My eyes are back to normal now
Another thing to look for on labels is the portion size and potions per container. Many people do not realize that the 100 cal soda was actually 250 cal for the whole bottle because it was 2.5 servings per bottle.
Craig. I've missed you. . .but, not in a creepy way. It's been a minute for me since I've gotten to watch one of these. Thanks for being awesome and having a curious mind!
As a woman with a history of an ED I found the best way to lose weight is to…not worry about losing weight. I went on daily walks with friends, really reflected on how full I felt, and focused on more whole foods but didn’t cut out processed stuff (eating it when I want). Ended up losing like 10+ lbs without tracking calories.
This is the most wonderful curated compilation of intuitive and flexible advice for weight loss - I love the emphasis on recognising where we are at on our own weight loss journey (the phases) and allowing your goals and expectations for yourself to be fluid and relax sometimes when you nature says to relax. Be like water!
The best weight loss tip is revenge! In 2024 my girlfriend cheated on me and we broke up with her last words : "you are ugly af". She was right, I weighed 310lbs... but from that day, last 8 months I never tried sweets or junk. I lost 66lbs for now. I started with walking 5k steps per day, drinking more water and with ashwagandha before sleep. I felt better and more energetic. I took meal plan for weight loss from Onlymeal and started to workout by their workout plan, 3 times per week. Now I am at 244lbs and I am so excited to se myself in the mirror on 210lbs
I will add to the comments and say just take it slow. I figured out a diet/lifestyle that I started when I turn 50. All I did for a year was to get at least 10000 steps a day. More when it got easier and watch what I ate. For me it was low carb and a manner of intermittent fasting. Lost a pound a week roughly. Sometimes you hit plateaus and it can cause some stress. If you overindulge don't beat yourself up and just get back to the routine and you will be ok. It takes time. Lost 50 lbs. in a year. Actually got to skinny and went to the gym and put on some muscle. At that point I adjusted my diet because I had different goals but I had a routine and I stick to it. Thanks for the video Craig or Craig's clone, we don't know really.
Dude, you are hilarious, as always. Love your content! This is one of the best videos I have ever seen about weight loss and I have watched a LOT. Also, you are one of only three people on UA-cam where you are so engaging that I will actually sit through and listen to your ‘commercial’ for your sponsor. Yours are hilarious.
It’s also pretty easy to make your own granola! Get some seeds, nuts if you’re not allergic, oats, etc add some honey or sweetener of choice and natural oil and bake it in the oven.
I’ve been studying cancer for 35 years, not an oncologist. Cancer attacked my mom and I shook my fist at cancer. In my studies I have found three fundamental problems. 1. The human body is not meant to be in a glucose/fructose metabolism 100% of the time. 2. Fats are much healthier than recommended dietary guidelines. 3. Protein, fat metabolism is much healthier and where we should be a majority of the time. Recent research has shown cancer has two main sources of fuel, glucose and the fermentation of glutamine. 4. If you are craving something sweet your body is thirsty. Drink water and pause 15 minutes.
Since reducing sugar and salt intake immensely I have regained pretty much all of my ability to taste food and to taste different ingredients in foods... always such a good point to make!
Once again, you have brought humor AND information into my life. Your ability to balance both continues to amaze me. Thanks for your hard work for our benefit.
I enjoyed this thoroughly Wheezy, I’m currently on a big exercise every day/ no alcohol/ eating healthy kick and this was all great advice. It’s not always easy balancing it with two jobs but it’s always worth it in the end
For granola, if you just want the cronch and no nuts, it's pretty easy to make a lot at once yourself and then it stays good in the cupboard forever. Mix oatmeal with salt, a little bit of oil and your sweet syrup of choice (I use maple syrup) and then bake in the oven for like 20-30 minutes depending on how crunchy you want it. Any you can also mix whatever else you'd want in there! I like to add nuts, but I know some folks add shreddies or pumpkin seeds. Chocolate chips :)
All of these tips are amazing! I went from 370 to around 220 these days, and most of these are what helped me. Another tip to throw in, look for protein chips/snacks. I usually go with legendary or quest chips, and legendary or protein plus sweet snacks/bars. Like he said, no matter what happens though just DON'T GIVE UP. Life goes through ups and downs constantly, just keep on pace and you will get there I PROMISE!
Hey Wheezywaiter. If I recall I started watching your videos early on. Ah, the glory days of you quitting your work, working on being able to do upside down pushups and shenanagans. I barely remember, tbh. But I do remember being entertained, but I digress. Great to see you looking well and I hope you're doing great. Have a great day!
I've successfully lost significant amounts of weight in the past but lately my depression has been so severe that I've practically given up on life and no longer care enough to do the things I should be doing. I'm broken and lost!
Walked 104 miles since the turn of the year. Quit drinking alcohol on November 19th 2024 after hurting the woman I love most on this planet after getting blackout drunk and said some horrible things. (Still not recovered from that with her) and totally cut out any ultra processed food. Doing a small weight routine at home. At 47, I'm probably at my fittest since my late 20's.
Good advice. I'd simplify one point to the old wisdom "don't drink your calories". It also helps to find a low calorie vegetable like broccoli or cauliflower that you can eat any time without worrying about caloies. One very filling and very low calorie meal is cauliflower and egg whites with hot sauce.
When you said "move," I thought you meant "move to an area with lower cost of living and more nature to encourage you to go outside and not do junky things instead" or something.
Unsolicited tthoughts from a regular guy who's not a dietitian, scientist, or financial consultant: I've tried many times to exercise more and watch what I am eating/drinking. It took me a solid few years to get into a groove where I'm happy. Definitely play the long game. The small steps you take in the beginning might not seem like much, but then one day, you wake up, and you love running and enjoy non-sugary things. (Also, quitting drinking for me was probably the best choice. I miss the social aspect, but I feel fantastic.)
Intermittend fasting has been the game changer for me. Way easier to stick to than all those other diets. During eating windows I try to eat healthy foods but I will treat myself if I feel like it. General hunger and cravings are down a lot (bodyweight too :P). Excercise is not absolutely necessary for weight loss, but especially if your not doing physical labor, I highly encourage it.
Everything you said is true because I’ve had the exact same experiences. The biggest factors for me were eating healthy, exercising, and counting calories. I lost 50 pounds and have managed to keep my weight roughly in the same range-sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less.
My go-to for dropping weight is to eat the same but add 5000 steps more per day. If your average is 8k steps per day, do 13k steps. Park your car 1 mile further from your workplace and do 1 mile to and 1 mile back. Or if u take the metro, go out 3-4 stations before and walk the rest. See if that works, if not you are overeating a ton. Either add a few K steps more or check your intake. Pretty simple, no calorie count or obsessing with fitness stuff. The best is that works for people in shape and out of shape. Not sure why we have to overcomplicate the weight loss when its as simple as walking more. Obviously, you have to eat at least somewhat decent food, but that would be common sense.
Great vid fellow beard lover. After our first kid I gained weight and decided to loose it. Chose intermittent fasting as tool and it worked amazing. But like you said, I platoed. But what is amazing I now gained tool to easily in my case control my weight. This ease of mind that I have control of a thing so many people struggle is amazing.
Absolutely agree with your points about cutting out added sugars, I've done the same thing for a number of years and 'normal' foods do taste much sweeter. Things like fruits and even the reduced fat milk I have on my morning oats tastes sweet.
I find that it is often easier for me to quit bad things entirely than to just consume them in moderation even if moderate consumption is perfectly healthy. Sweets is one of those things since, after a few weeks, your tongue and body adjusts and everything tastes sweeter. If you do give in after that and eat a dessert it tastes terrible for being too sweet and gives you a stomach ache.
Having good food available is such a basic step to eating better. Make a big batch of hummus (dead easy), roast a batch of root vegetables, don't buy cookies.
This may sound weird, but if you are dieting, and you know you’re diet does work, and you are sticking to it, It might be good to weigh yourself week by week. This goes into the idea of playing the long game. It was unhealthy for me when I was weighing myself in the morning, and trying to extend my intermittent fasting into the afternoon, just to see if I could get to a new low on my chart, that’s why a weekly weigh is better for me in particular. I think the weekly trends are more important than the daily trends. If you are counting your calories and keeping track of your macros, you can make an informed decision about why you may have gained or lost weight that week. Just weigh in the morning after you get up, That’s when you are lightest. Healthy food for thought. Also here’s my tip: products that are high in saturated fats, (look at you daily recommended percentage on the right side of the label) those are good to cut too, you will see long term result if you make a conscious effort to avoid them and opt for healthier fats like monounsaturated and polyunsaturated.
Listen to this man! The first tip is the best: If you can't make it a permanent lifestyle change, it won't be a permanent weight change! 16 hour fasts have simply been my life for the last 8 years almost every day. I can go longer, but I also feel almost no need to ever go shorter.
Craig you are hilarious and always enjoy your randomness. Idea for a challenge - carnivore for a few weeks/month. ‘Cause even better than protein and fibre?? Is protein and animal fat. Go on…give it a go.
I've been learning this for years on my own, sometimes losing and sometimes gaining weight. Recently I started counting calories - it's difficult, I have to plan a bit so that I'm not hungry in the evening (and not being hungry takes priority) but man, sometimes I lose weight so fast it's scary. Also when I'm in calorie deficiency my heartburn and reflux magically go away. This is probably the best consequence of eating healthy.
Yes! Try things! Read on weird diets. The one that captures your interest most, research the hell out of it. If your research leaves you comfortable, try it. If not, then note why it makes you uncomfortable and check the list of diets for something that sways away from that uncomfortable point. When you try a diet, LEAN INTO IT! Pay close attention to how you feel and what changes. Everything you can think of! Learn as much as you can by experience and you will find your truth. I think I found my truth after 13 years of experiments. But I still monitor for anything that I can improve.

As a weight lifter, this might not apply to everyone, but protein shakes. Pure protein is my favorite. I’m never hungry. Two of those and I’m ready to lift a school bus. But I won’t. Weight gain doesn't happen immediately, weight loss isn't going to happen immediately either. Great tips that should help lots of people.
Weight gain can definitely happen immediately. And sustainably much faster
@@CharleGodin I think you’re intentionally misinterpreting what I said. Of course people can gain weight quickly, but no one puts on 20,30,40 pounds literally overnight. Good that you found a way that works for you. For me it would only trigger the craving. If I stop having it, the cravings do go away
Whereas a jar of prego might as well be an Italian inspired tomato flavored cake frosting.
please tell me the USA doesn't have a tomato sauce product called preggo 🤣
I've found some cans of tomatoes do have added sugar. Really gotta check those labels.
@@Some1newe do. Don’t you? 😂
@@Some1ne We do have a brand called Prego, but its pronounced prey-go, not preg-oh
@@Some1ne😂 Prego is an Italian multi purpose word meaning please and you're welcome and no worries etc
There's literally a side ad to buy this guys shit at the beginning of the video and the top comment is a sponsor so... nah lol
*other than Huell
@ Go away
@ so don't buy it?
@hannahjohnson4885 the problem isnt that he has sponsors, no one cares. People are just calling you out for saying a blatantly incorrect statement lol
I will always appreciate your layman's experience to these things. It feels more real, especially because you explain the mistakes you made and how you learned from them.
100%
I value his feedback more than most because of the authenticity and honesty (perceived ... I don't really know him lol)
Fellow reading-the-comments-ers: recognize the additional complications women face losing weight. You have to balance hormones, and your body is going to hang on to fat harder.
Don’t get disappointed if you’re not experiencing doubt digit weight loss at a time. It’s just harder
Especially in menopause
Thank you for this. I get upset then say f it and do it all over again. This time ima stick it tho bc I now know it’s hormones/age/takes more time than what it did it my early and late twenties.
This! So important
So spot on about things tasting sweeter when you reduce added sugar. A honey crisp apple truly tastes like a dessert to me.
I discovered that black pepper on slices of honeycrisp is heaven! Sounds gross, but it was a happy accident and it's one of my favorite snacks!
@ interesting. I will give it a try!
@ The coarser the pepper, the better.
Stuff I learned:
- Sustainability matters the most.
And exercise too... but if you're eating like 5000 calories per day of junk food, no realistic, sustainable amount of exercise is going to put you in a caloric deficit
- Needing to drive everywhere sucks and makes everything harder.
Life Coach Craig is the only guru I need. Thanks yet again for perfectly practical and moderate advice.
kind of needed this video honestly. All of 2024 i was on a weighloss journey, down 40lbs, still honestly probably need to lose another 40lbs to be where I want to be, but last few months have basically been one big plateau and its definitely hard to stay motivated.
Insanely cool that you already lost 40 pounds!! Staying at that new weight is not easy either. Must mean you're sustaining that lifestyle. Congrats!
What a great idea!
Sometimes when I feel bad I "only" lost a pound, I pick up a package of butter for visual reference of what a pound of fat looks like. Not bad!
That's a cool idea. Wonder if I should do pregnancy weight or after birth weight.
@@blueseptember2174 I'd not advise putting the baby in the bag ;) I'd say the latter but you do you, it's your journey. Good luck and congrats!
@@Brettnet 😂
@@learningisfun2108 I like that! I've kind of embraced the hunger... like, "Yeah! I am doing the thing!!"
I quit pop and juice. Quit alcohol too after noticing my weight gain and reading about latest research in alcohol's connection with cancer.
Close to my three "pillars" of overall being healthy.
1. How and what you eat
2. How much you move
@ Simnett Nutrition is awesome! I love how encouraging that channel is. I will have to check out the others, thanks!
10:53 I've been on youtube a long time, I'm glad to hear that the technical term "Doobly-Doo" is still in rotation
Craig invented it! 😁
This is why I love your videos, very straightforward and honest.
so, three years ago, i got a diagnosis that explained why i wasn't losing weight despite doing much of the things in this video. if you have rapid weight loss or weight gain, that may also point to a medical issue. go to an actual medical doctor (if you can afford it, if its accessible), an actual certified dietitian, an actual certified personal trainer. getting help is not a bad thing.
GREAT video! I'm watching it as I eat Panda express in my car in the Walmart parking lot. But I can make small changes. I did get super greens.
SUPER GREENS ARE TASTY
@DacJosh I like them. They seem oily, but at least they are vegetables through a drive-through window!
I used to ear that stuff in repeat. Always got super greens. My vision was blurry after. So much sugar in the rest of it.
“Caloric buck bang” made me spit out my water hahaha good stuff, as always.
My eyes are back to normal now
Great work. That sounds like a huge task. Good on you for putting in the effort and healing your vision.
Thanks for the video Craig or Craig's clone, we don't know really.
this was genuinely so lovely to watch. I loved the energy and kindness and realness.
Well Your World here has a great recipe! I use sweet potato to sweeten mine.
My advice is to get a stomach flu, I lost 8 pounds last week and now I feel great.
Lost 3 lbs so far. Not my most favorite way to lose weight. Bet you felt the same way 😢🤒
Watched this video to reassure and motivate myself on my weightless journey. Thank you for your hands on, no bullshit style.
Never give up! You can do this!
@@jassbass8153 Thanks. Do you know how to not give up?

Love you and your videos. Thank you for bringing rational thought to a chaotic world.
Love this, and love that you're relasing these as podcasts too!
One of your prior videos talked about the 5lb weight range and that's been such a game changer for me!
I like your videos. It feels real. Just a normal dude doing stuff❤
So much excellent advice Craig 😁👍🏼
Unsolicited tthoughts from a regular guy who's not a dietitian, scientist, or financial consultant:
I've tried many times to exercise more and watch what I am eating/drinking.
You are me and I am you. The similarities in approach and shared experience are astounding.
Everything you said is true because I’ve had the exact same experiences. The biggest factors for me were eating healthy, exercising, and counting calories. I lost 50 pounds and have managed to keep my weight roughly in the same range-sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less.
Gonna play this every week as a pep talk. :)
This is exactly the advice I needed to hear. Thank you for keeping it simple!
Most amazing weight loss video ever! Loved it! I agree about everything tasting so much better when sugar is a rare treat.
Thanks for the video Craig! Really good advice and I like the way you talk about it considering it's a sensitive subject
11:51 This is the biggest one for me, hands-down.
This is amazing! All incredible advice.
I watched the ad read solely for the vlog bros references. great job.
Having good food available is such a basic step to eating better. Make a big batch of hummus (dead easy), roast a batch of root vegetables, don't buy cookies.
Hey, I'm a person! Thanks for the acknowledgement Craig. Been enjoying Tuesbetter~
7:53 I literally spat out my drink 🤣🤣🤣 No more drinking for me when watching your videos, can't afford a new keyboard every single time.
Congrats on the marathon 🎉

“Hey, whee-sauce Micheal here”
Thank you for another great video! I've said this before but your vids put me in a great mood (especially when I need it!) - so thank you! :)
Craig you are hilarious and always enjoy your randomness. Idea for a challenge - carnivore for a few weeks/month. ‘Cause even better than protein and fibre?? Is protein and animal fat. Go on…give it a go.
Haven't checked in in a while but I love your channel.
Add a maintenance phase to your weight-loss plan! Keeps your metabolism from adapting to the calorie deficit..
I fell off the healthy eating wagon awhile ago and want to get back on, thanks for the inspiration!
I love your videos east to listen to and still get the message 😮
I've been learning this for years on my own, sometimes losing and sometimes gaining weight. Recently I started counting calories - it's difficult, I have to plan a bit so that I'm not hungry in the evening (and not being hungry takes priority) but man, sometimes I lose weight so fast it's scary.
Also when I'm in calorie deficiency my heartburn and reflux magically go away. This is probably the best consequence of eating healthy.
Great advice! Thank you for the reminders!!!!
Great video! Good info! Jack Russell…..Adorable! 🐾
1) your dog is really cute 2) the arborists and plumbers joke made me lol
Yes!
I really appreciate the amount of dogs used in this video
