1) I need to destroy the Wonders. They stimulus to attack (defending only my base is not very interesting. Moreover attacking Wonders that are under constrution helps to collapse the CPI economy.
2) Scythe Chariots are cheap ( require just food and wood) and have splash attack. They are mobile and hard-convertable. Moreover Egyptian Chariots have extra HP.

i played in childhood for 3-5 years (i was 6-11), and started again two years ago. Since that i generally play during period of October-December.
I really hope there will be someday a Age of Empires 1 remake

1) in the beginning hardest computer have additional 10k of each resource.
2) to prevent my towers from attacking enemies villagers, as i know computer starts attacking immidiately after you attacking him. So i hoped that it gave me little additional time to build my defences

Agree, good idea. Today I would use ships gladly. Concerning computers, they do not use ships if the map type is "Highland".
I also played this game when i was 3-5 years old. I am now 18. You play with an AMAZING way Wooooooooooooooooooooooow. Extremely strategic and amazing reflexes in difficult situations.

the first time i have seen this kind of gameplay. In Vietnam and also China we dont play with wall, tower; we play from the Stone Age and try to beat the opponents in the Bronze Age. There are 3 kinds of game: ShangxShang, AssyxAssy or Random and 3 ways to play: 1vs1,2vs2 or 4vs4
however, the way you played really intereste me.

to be fair, Egyptian are quite powerful with their trash unit, they can survive prolonged battle without too much reliant on the gold

just realized how lucky you got with map gen. you spawned on the one part of the map that was the most easy to defend because of how the river generated.

It is just map settings. Sometimes I like to start from the iron age. Also it is a little bit simplier to win. (Playing vs Yamato's also simplier than playing vs randoms. I will also create a walkthrough where i start from the Stone Age. For now you can watch "Yamato vs 7 hard randomds", in this walkthrough I also start from the Ston Age.

AIs do not build ships on some map type. And I just forgot about ships and this is my mad. On the other hand it looks fair. Nobody used them.

question : why did you keep opening the diplomacy menu throughout the game ? also why were you neutral to everyone and then switched to enemy ?
When I saw smbd started wonder I checked his colour to find the Wonder on the map. IN the beginning I made them neutral to prevent my towers form attacking them. This gave a litlle bit more time to get ready to their attack.

In this case I have to say that I wished to see more of this gameplay. It was (at least on my end), not finished yet. I agree and understand the reason for doing that but... it was lets just say... not obvious enough that you won this game. There was still too much activitiy going on. Its a nice gameplay though! I liked how you managed and passed the most stressful moments. :)
I don't want video that last for 45-50 minutes. For me and for majority it is obvious win.
1) All wonders are destroyed.
2) My population is almost the same as total of others.
3) Also AIs became almost inactive.

Yamato and Persian are the eastiest opponents, no siege machines at all, still your playing is pretty impressive, I also play Egypt, the range of priests (16) is great.

Why so he can use all the gold on scythe chariots? Food and wood which he's got on farm. Gold doesnt defend ur base. Last time I checked you can't build golden towers either

that was a hard game for me, i played against 7 yamato, it is more simple than 7 randoms, but still very hard for me

How are you doing things so fast? I mean I know you're using hotkeys but how much practice does it take??
I use not all of the hotkeys and it doesn't take a lot of time for practice. Just start using them, slowly increasing the number.

The same, mass chariots. They will smash minoan bowmen. If you play roman use heliopolises.
To counter elephants, you have to use priests, covered by scythes or some other soldiers. War and Armored elephants are easy to convert. By the way, Egypt does not have Armored Elephants. The most dangerous Elephants are in Persia and Carthagen.

Elephants normally don't attack unless provoked, "King" animals, on the other hand, will jump at any human that comes closer.

The Chariots have splash damage when attacking other units or buildings. His trick is to attack the wonders, what draws in the villagers to repair the wonder. The villagers don't gather resources and die, while the AI spams units to defend, crippling its economy.

Bill Killernic It would be just a waste of time to destroy buildings. They have almost no army.
Magnatio Thats not true a comeback is very real since there are 7 npcs and yellow was not that much harmed...
1) they have outposts which deal damage back (=you need time and resources to replenish the dead units and your army on spot looses its dmg/second rate because units are dying)
2) Not all workers were dead and there were plenty of resources also no all army units were dead and while for example he was destroying red city the other cities have time (and remaining resources ) to create an new striking force.
I dont say its impossible to win I just say that the state on which this player quit the game is certainly non conclusive and furthermore its most likely (at that point) to loose or atleast have a very very hard time to win so he proved nothing more than that he can last 24 minutes with 7 enemies on AoE
Bill Killernic It is true if you play against Human,but......As my experience shows (I play a lot of games vs 7 Hardest on Random map) AIs have run out of resources at this moment. Haredst AIs have a lot of extra Resources in the beginning that is why they are so aggressive in the beginning. I played about 30 minutes and most of the time their population was almost sevenfold bigger than my and I managed to destroy all the wonders while defending my base. There are no chances they could win if their total population is the same as mine. But whatever. I do think it is good to make a vid 10 minutes longer and to show how I destroy buildings and search for villagers)

You play Priest very well. I know a boy who can play Priest even better than you. His nickname is Chimsedinang. You can search in youtube with that key words. Then you'll find videos of his game everywhere. And I bet you'll find it very impressive

rookie high res video, 1vs1 multiplayer egy vs yamato, you dead within 4 minutes when the first hha enters, this map, the yamato only has to make boats and secure the shallows, game over.

so what do you think the best/worst ones are? how about shang, I like stocking up villagers and they have the lower villager cost bonus. Then I eventually get heavy horse archers and try to somehow defend until then. What kind of units should I do until I reach iron age (starting from stone age). The computer's annoying priest+catapult combo are very diffucult to handle sometimes
llVIU It depends on the game type. Yamato is good if you play RM starting from the Stone Age.
