Very very nicely done Corbin. This is part of what baseball is really all about. Its not always about competition to sign the most expensive free agents on the market. :) Its about truly growing an organization and a love for baseball. I appreciate this look into international signings. Player development , draft and minor leagues are all a great part of the scope of things. I look forward to the building of a sustainable organization that can compete well. There's a balance to all of this. It has to be done correctly. Coming from the days of 1967 and the Impossible dream and when a box seat on the third base line would cost you 8 bucks :) I can be very patient and enjoy the ride along the way. I cannot wait for baseball season. :) Like button blasted. Rock On Corbin !!!
Outstanding video. I like how you showed videos of the players. They say Carrasquel could develop into Darryl Strawberry type power. That would be something.
Holy crap we signed someone…. Haha did the Carlos kids swing remind anyone else of David Ortiz’s swing but from the right side. He was bent over and loading and exploding.
Thanks Corbin always watch for your heads up in n the Red Seat. Nice to have some good positive things to look at. Will be fun following along as these players develope over time. Thanks for all you do for all of us Corbin. You deserve to be recognized for your constant great content. Have a great day!! Go Red Sox!!
For the money they spent, I do not believe he has the frame or initial bat quickness to make it. I dont mind taking a flyer, but there may have been safer options to throw a million dollars at. I do like the look of Carlos Carrasquel and several of the arms they signed, Carrasquel is built like a tarantula and when he fills that body out the sox may have something there. @@redseatradio
Corbin ... Another outstanding video ... Totally agree that this "International Free Agent" signing period is a very important overlooked aspect of the Red Sox team building process by initially finding the international teenage talent that can eventually help produce a future World Series championship ... Hopefully the Red Sox Latin American scouting system have discovered and acquired another future Roberto Clemente, Juan Marichal, Rod Carew, Mariano Rivera, Pedro Martinez, David Ortiz, Albert Pujols, Elly de la Cruz, Xander Bogaerts or Rafael Devers with these most recent signings ...
for sure it seems like a good mix and interesting as to how they will work out. the only thing for me is these top 5 did not seem to cover second, first or being a catcher. i dont know what players we have for those positions coming up through the system. but at least it will give us something to look forward to in the distant future
Thanks for being on top of this... Looking at the top end of the international free agent pool signings, do pitchers tend to grade out lower at age 17? (Perhaps why pitchers seem under represented here?)
I like the signings but you would think if the Sox not making free agent signings at the least they would spend on some of the top 15 international prospects. I guess they are just going to focus on the regular draft.
Thankful for the selections, let's get them signed and let them start playing ball my idea is to start them right away at Fenway just to see what they got
Dalvinson, is going to be great if he learns under Pedro and Bryan Bello. If he works hard and puts in the time he'll have a young and older mentor from the D.R.
Best Red Sox news we’ve had for awhile. Always worth pointing out: it’s a global game now and we’re all much better off as a result. Great video- as always.
You never know with these guys especially Pitchers because they are all about 17 so the pitchers tend not to rank as high and tend to surprise more. That being said I'd love to see more pitching added but it's ok. Only about the top 5 were close to can't miss prospects the rest are high upside signings. Asensio has a lot of good areas of his game we will just need to see if they develop. The rest are really just lottery tickets hoping maybe out of this bunch 2-5 will hit to even get to the big leagues let alone an everyday player or star. I like Asensio the rest I don't know enough to say but that 2nd guy cuts off his swing a lot if he gets the right teachers there's a lot of potential if he's that good with that bad of a swing. We've definitely had worse years so I'm ok with this even though I think they might have done better. It's always a balance between talent and money. Teams have a set amount they can spend so do you load it all on a couple really good guys or spread it out etc. I think the Sox went somewhere in the middle and it's a pretty good technique for not having an entire class bust.
I didn't expect this to happen before winter weekend. It's good you're following this. He dismissed a great many minor league players during the off-season who were not performing well. So this is his first international draft, so we'll see how it works out. I would think if he wanted to make a good impression at winter weekend, he would have some signings to announce.
Kudos to your efforts and dedication to the Sox however in all honesty the Sox while signing a multitude of plyrs only 3 may be ranked in top 100 and only one in top 40. So it’s not a list to be excited about. Please Corbin put down the Pom poms about the Sox there is nothing in past 5 years that they have done that should cause us to get excited
That isn't even factually right. all 5 of these players are in the top 100 and just becuase they didn't get a super high ranking prospect doesn't mean this isnt significant or well done. You are ranking 17 year old kids, do you really think it matters all that much that they are ranked 1 or 100 not really. What were you doing at 17? I bet it looked a whole lot different than what you were doing at 23-24.
Look I get it, but that doesn’t mean these aren’t really important signings. Look at the pillars of this team right now. 2 of them came from this process
Like I mentioned in the video 2x and showed on stream they signed a couple pitchers and signed even more after the video was published. The reason you don’t see them at the top of 100 int. Lists is because of the fact that they tend to be really volatile
For being a former PITCHER, this guy bresilow sure can t figure out how to SIGN one. Everything including the sink but aside from reclamation projects, he..or daddy john cant figure out that somebody's gotta fling the sphere. Get your arm ready for spring guys.. sox may be having open signings for 1 month pitching temps
Thanks for the immediate update Corbin, you are the best!
Thanks for watching Scott!
Pumped bro. Prospect draft always cheers me up.

Mmmm I really didn’t wanna say it because that’s a BIG thing to say about someone
@@redseatradio I mean it doesn’t mean he’ll be clutch or have power like that just seems like a similar setup and swing
@rmcintire1087 no for sure but the second a Sox fan hears papi like swing there are some big expectations on those shoulders
Fun fact: Hanley Ramirez was a switch-hitting prospect for the Sox before being shifted to a purely RH hitter in the upper minors.
Nice! Keep up the good work too, Corbin!
Thanks!
The future does look good for some of these prospects, with the RIGHT help, the right person
Yeah hopefully!
Thank you Corbin for putting in the work to keep us informed on the international signing 👍
There are 30 mlb teams. Out top pick is ranked 37. This seems like a loss.
Out of the 30 mlb teams only 1 team signed more top 100 prospects

Looking at the top end of the international free agent pool signings, do pitchers tend to grade out lower at age 17? (Perhaps why pitchers seem under represented here?)
Yes they 100% do there’s much more variation with how pitchers develop so they tend to be lower ranked
Thanks, Corbin.
I like the signings but you would think if the Sox not making free agent signings at the least they would spend on some of the top 15 international prospects. I guess they are just going to focus on the regular draft.
They only have a set amount they are allowed to spend

Well I like having depth in our prospects but now it’s time to get someone who can play now

The international prospects are all like 16 and 17. You’re in the wrong place if you’re looking for near term players
LETs Go RED SOX MAKEING MOVES
we signed the 37th? lol. I will have to search the Dodgers signings to find the rest
Rankings honestly don’t mean a whole lot at this point in their development
I saw the title of this video and I thought "now I get it, we don't go cheap in this sphere!" nope we are still cheap
It’s quite literally impossible to be “cheap” as each mlb has a limit to what the can spend
the A's have spent more than we have lol@@redseatradio
I get your point. I guess I am letting it all get to me.@@redseatradio

Who are the top 5 players? How come the Red Sox didnt sign any of them...!
They went with a strategy that signed more players in more areas

As a fan of the major league club who's disgusted with how ownership has treated them, I see 0 reason to celebrate any of this.
