I love how Harry Potter brought 3 generations together in my family. We would all read the books, go to the movies and go to contests. So much fun and we still have fun talking and rereading and rewatching everything. The grandchildren will play the games and we will buy them. Lol

Fascinating story regarding learning to read through Harry Potter. So many people who had difficulties in some area of their lives have been helped by escaping from their reality by immersing themselves into the Harry Potter world. And, now, the immersion is at a whole different level. God only knows how this game will evolve in the next 10 years. It truly is exciting times for Potter fans.

I love wandering the castle. I grew up with my Mom reading the first 3 or 4 books to me and my twin brother. 1 Chapter each night, then when the 4th or 5th came out we were in the middle of a really emotionally charged and turbulent move, I spent the next 2 years reading and losing myself into the books. To this day Harry Potter books are my Go-To for relax and calming if I'm struggling with Anxiety or 'Life". I run a dog grooming shop and listen to all the audiobooks at least once a month while working. This game has made me cry with happiness more than once. I love your enthusiasm for all things Harry Potter, no one else in my life has the same connection to it, so it's really nice to watch your videos and know I'm not the only Potter Head!!!

My family wasn't well-off back when I was a child. We had free tv network and they would always air Harry Potter movies every Christmas. It was one of the few happiness I had from my childhood. I remember running around in a cape (towel) pretending to be in Hogwarts and humming the theme song.

Hi Peter! Did you know that Salazar Slytherin´s name was inspired by the portuguese dictator António Salazar? J.K. Rowling spend some time in Portugal during the time she was writing the first HP book so she took a lot of inspiration there. I live in Porto, Portugal where she used to live back then and there are a few tours around the city showing some of the places J.K. Rowling took her inspiration from.

I was late to the party with Harry Potter... I have this awful habit where if something is really commercialised but I know I'll love it, I rebel against it 🙈
But in 2018 I was diagnosed with cervical cancer, and with plenty of time during chemo and appointments and just being at home decided it was a good time to start reading the books. I WAS HOOKED. This was a place I could completely submerge myself into and forget my reality. This world has been with me during my darkest days.. if it wasn't for these books, I don't think I would be here today... it may seem silly, but they have been my escape. The light when all I saw was darkness.. I'm so grateful to be part of this incredible community
And I'm loving Hogwarts Legacy! 11 hours in and I've barely scratched the surface!

This was an awesome video/teaser of what we can explore and find in the castle. The ravenclaw house looks amazing and I love all the customization we can do, and spell slinging looks so fun.
There is a neat little detail in all the common rooms, you kind of noticed it on the stream, when you couldn't go up a set of stairs in the dormitories area. In the books, its said that girls/witches can go into "all" dormitories, but boys/wizards can only access the wizard dormitories. Whenever a wizard tries to enter the witch's dorms, the stairs will transform and you will slide back down.

How I came to discover Harry Potter was I went to visit my sister in Florida and she had the first 4 books and I was an avid reader but not really into fantasy, but I thought I'd see what they were about and unfortunately, I didn't spend as much time with her because I was devouring the books. I finished them before I left, then got the other 3 the day after the release day. I do remember when I got Deathly Hallows, I started on a Friday, and only left my room to eat or use the bathroom, slept only a few hours and I finished it 2 days later. I thought the movies did a great job in bringing the books to life. Now, I love watching You tubers begin that journey watching the movies. I am not a collector but I love watching your videos.

I got started with Harry Potter with the films! My brother who is 6 years older than me started watching the films when he was about 11, and it was my way of spending quality time with him. He would watch them all the time (and still does even at 29 years old). Every time he’d watch them he’d ask me if I wanted to join and I grew to love the series that way. By the time the last two movies came out I was old enough to go to the midnight premieres and I loved going. I read the books in middle school, but continue watching the films all the time!

One thing they missed is the door behind the staff table in the great hall where the school champions go after being selected in The Goblet of Fire. In fact there is a balcony just outside that wall and a glitch where I fell through the map to my death several times last night. It is consistently in the same spot. But there is no place for that room behind the table to even exist.

The music when you enter the staircase that leads you to all the various rooms in Hogwarts, Great hall, dungeons, etc, is just phenomenal. It's also awesome to know HP helped you to read! Harry Potter taught me how to read too!
I struggled with it until I was about 10-11. Made even more magical by the fact Harry went to Hogwarts at 11.
My parents and teachers tried everything to get me to read. They would pull me out of class and do an individual reading time with me. I had summer school for reading. My mom tried hooked on phonics.
But with Harry Potter something just clicked and suddenly the words made sense. I loved the series and my best friend and sister figure also loved them! We would go to the midnight BOOK releases and the midnight movie releases.
We’d listen to the audio book in the car.

I didn't grow up with HP, my baby sister introduced the first 3 movies to me when I was in my mid 20s. My favorite memories, though, include becoming a part of the Super Carlin Brothers community, where I found several friends to bond over HP with. That group got me through one of the toughest and lowest times in my life, literally saved me. And now I'm beginning to make new friends through this community, too! I think that's the best part, all thanks to Harry Potter.

To add up on my previous comment on achievements, there are 4 houses and each gives you an achievement after some game progression. But even if you aren't going for the achievement run, I highly suggest it to you that you start a new game for the other 3, because each common room is different and unique in its own way, and they are very beautiful, but there is 1 quest that is different for each house (after which you gain said achievement), and I suggest that you go with Hufflepuff next as the quest leads you to you-know-which prison and shows you-know-which guards in it. For anyone that hasn't played through those quests, you don't need to worry about trying to find it, as it is apart of the main quest story.

Now a bit of heads up on completing the challenges, achievements, and the game. Achievement "Collector's Edition" is one of the hardest to complete, as you need to complete everything in the game, my suggestion would be, if you are going for that achievement, is that you complete everything else in the game and leave one specific quest for the last, or if you start it, complete it immediately. That quest is called "Follow the Butterflies" (a litte easter egg there), as it for now is still buggy. After you start it the butterflies will appear on the map, there are 15 locations that you need to visit, as each give you an item required for completing the achievement, the first one the quest guides you to it and there are 14 of them you will need to find on your own (but there is a guide on where they are). The bug is that if you start it, and find the butterflies that aren't the ones the quest would led you to them, the quest would count it still as completing the quest, leaving you with 1 less item and costing you the achievement. Also there is a bug where the chest doesn't appear after the butterflies led you to a location, but that can be fixed by casting Revelio on the supposed invisible chest, but if you teleport somewhere else while the chest was invisible, you lose both the chest and the achivement. If anyone is wondering the chests give you spellcrafts, items you need for the achivement.

For the slytherin common room you have some secrets, if you are casting spells onto the window that looks into the lake, the squid puts its tenticle onto the window, also because a male student can't go into the girls room section, the developers put in the basilisk slithering in the back, but you can see it only on rare occasions.

I'm not even that into Harry Potter (Didn't know about Hogwarts Legacy until it was released), but this game has blown me away, it is so unbelievably detailed, massive, and graphically amazing looking. for the last 2 days I thought the game was just Hogwarts and Hogsmeade because of how detailed Hogwarts is (must have taken them years just to create the Castle), but then I realized it was a huge map the size of Skyrim (probably bigger) I've been calling it a once in a decade game like Skyrim, or GTA V people will be playing it for many years modding the game and giving it new life over and over.

So, as a kid I didn't like reading at all because I'd always get bored and fall asleep. I think that happened because I was seeing it as a chore since my teachers would give us lists with what we needed to read during holidays and vacations in order to practice our reading. My brother on the other hand would read any book he could get hims hands on, so because my mum didn't know what books to get him for his birthday because we read all of the popular ones asked the lady in the bookshop for a recommendation. That's how the first three books in the series entered our home. He read them all back to back, but I didn't. Later when the first film came out my mum took me to the cinema (it was my first time at the movies and it was magical) and during the film my brother kept nagging me with “This didn't happen like that in the book.” He kept saying that for the second film just to annoy me and because I had enough I started to read the books. By the time I finished them the fourth one had been translated so I read all four of them back to back.
So yeah, this is how I got acquainted with the Harry Potter Universe.
P.S.: After the first film came out everybody in school kept calling me Harry because I looked like a female version of him. 😅

What i find really amazing is that the game has the movie soundtracks, just a bit differently composed. Like at 3:46 , that's totally from the movies, although they had to make it a bit unique and different. It feels familiar, but still different.
Also, HP taught you how to read, now it teaches you how to play games. you can't really say that is doesn't have a huge influence on your life :D

For me personally this movie's means so much to me because growing up I was not in a good head space or environment in general. I used to try to have movie night every single Friday by myself and have a Harry Potter marathon. They really helped me like distract myself from really bad things that I would have to deal with. And that's one of the reasons why I cherish these films and books so much. These basically are part of your childhood and made life more magical.

Have you noticed that it's impossible to explore the top of the West Tower, the top of the Central Tower, the top of the Faculty Tower, and the interior of the second Bell Tower? However there should be something when you explore the castle from outside...

I never read the books, but I remember going to see the first movie in theaters and falling in love with it. In Hogwarts Legacy I am about 15 percent completed, and I am a level 18. I absolutely love the game, I love flying on the broom around the entire map and the details. I came across some Nifflers tonight which were so cute.

Harry potter changed my life in so many ways, fun fact I used to not enjoy reading until I read it for school assignment because I had the first copy and I thought "why not? After all, I did need a book to read and the cover interests me so". I have CP otherwise known as cerebral palsy, which can prevent me from walking in my case without equipment I can't, but with it I can. I have had depression for as long as I can remember because of it I never felt like I could fit in, after I had read Harry Potter I knew where I could call Home even when nobody else talked to me, I knew that even when I had a bad day, I could go and read these books over and over again and cheer up just by my imagination, these books are much more than stories for me, the characters are like my family, my home away from home, and so much more. I hope those who struggle never give up on their dreams, and I hope that Harry Potter continues to inspire you like it has inspired me. 🩵

The first movie came out when I was in Year 7 (first year of high school in Australia - age 12/13) and for an English assignment we had to read the book, then we saw the movie and had to write a book vs movie comparison. We then did the same for Chamber of Secrets. I actually really didn’t like the first book, but by Prisoner of Azkaban I was hooked. My mum even lined up early in the mornings to get me a copy of the new books when they were released.

The first time I tried the HP books I couldn't get past the first chapter either. My mom was a huge fan and wanted me to be too. I tried again a year later and I couldn't put the books down. Now I've read them over and over and over again. I luckily got into them when I only had to wait for the last book to come out and remember going to the midnight release at Walmart.

Dumbledore came to Hogwarts in 1892.
If we get 2 more of these games, we might encounter a first year Albus Dumbledor!

My feelings for watching the movies the 1st time was, why didn't my mom allow me to watch this. why did I not watch this before! So amazing.
But I didn't understand how somthinsg added up so decided to read the books
I'm reading the books for the 1st time I'm reading the goblet of fire now, Started reading them a year ago. Very slow reader as reading is not my thing. But loving these books. They filling in the gaps and it's like putting a puzzle together.. Its so amazing my imagination goes crazy and I like go into this land of Harry Potter just like it's real. Like I'm there with the characters. Mind blowing.
Hopfully one day will be able to get my own whole book set, so I can read them over and over.
Been watching each movie over again as I complete each book. So my mind can fill in the blanks the movies leave out. But thankyou Pieter for showing us this amazing Hogwarts game. So exciting 🤗

I just finished this game. Still have some side content to burn up, but all major storylines wrapped up. I can honestly say I loved it. Is it the greatest game of all time? No, not at all. But it does so many things right that I just couldn't put it down. A love letter to Harry Potter fans and gamers alike.

Thank you for sharing your story Peter! For so many of us Harry Potter was our safe space where we could escape from reality. I had a pretty difficult childhood, so when I needed to escape from it all I threw myself into reading the Harry Potter books. Harry Potter was my safe space. Hogwarts Legacy is the game we've all been waiting for our entire lives!

Peter, I know a little about how you feel about it. Harry Potter is where I learned to love reading. With the first few books, we had no idea that I had a Communicative Disorder, ADHD (found out in college), and a learning disability. Fred and George Weasley are my comfort characters. My mom and sister introduced me.
