Even though I am a Senior, Disabled, Female Solo Traveler…your videos are very helpful. I love that the two of you are very organized, conscientious and strategically plan all of your destinations. All of that is so important to have successful, safe and fun full time travel.

I’m a retired part time traveler. I’m very happy discovering your channel. I spend 3 months a year in Europe. Watching your video about Turkey inspired me to plan to visit that country in April for one month then continue my journey to Norwegian, coastline and mountains. Thanks and continue sharing your travel experience.

We met you both in Chiang Mai and then in Hoi An and enjoy following your adventures.
I think the biggest problem with would be slow travellers is in actually deciding to do it. Fear of leaving your comfort zone is the single biggest hurdle people encounter. We have been on the road for a little over 2 years now, with an annual 3 month return to Australia to see the kids and grandkids and constantly say to ourselves……why didn’t we do this sooner.

Hi, David and Julie! So nice to hear from you. You are correct. Getting out of your comfort zone and taking the leap is the most difficult part. We are so happy that we decided to do this when we did. No regrets!! We hope to see you two again soon!

This format fits your strengths and separates you from other UA-cam retired nomads. Perspective and learning is just as important as site seeing and budgets. That’s what travel is for. We are from Oregon and hope we run into you someday on our retired nomad travels in Europe.

@@BrianandCarrie Hopefully. We do a lot of hiking across Europe in our early 60s. Although a month of just walking around cities and parks is often very enjoyable.

I have really enjoyed all your videos and did go back and watch pretty much all of them. I can see the benefits and drawbacks of full time travel and I watch a few others that do it as well to see if it may be something for us to consider in the future. Thanks for sharing all the info and I look forward to the Q&A sessions.

Excellent introduction! RE: Self Defense, I know you are both in good shape but consider taking some krav maga classes, etc, even if practicing moves on UA-cam. It just takes one bad encounter with a random crazy person to turn life upside down. And one last thing -- in only 3 hours, you have had over 1,300 views of this video alone! You have developed not just a following but a tribe!!! Thousands from around the world and GROWING! I know some politicians that would kill for that kind of audience! Did you ever think your voices would garner such interest! Wow!

If we want to see if we really enjoy international travel, where should we try? We would want to stay in a fairly low budget place where we would stay for 2 weeks (job limitations) and take several day trips during our stay. We are SERIOUSLY considering doing what you’re doing, but want to see how we enjoy overseas travel. My husband is 72 and I’m 58. He’s on social security, so with that and our retirement savings, we could travel within a similar budget that you have. We just want to “test the waters” first. Thanks! 😎

We have been planning on our early retirement for a few years now. Our target date is now Winter of 2025, I'll be 52. We thought about settling in either Spain or Portugal however we've been thinking more and more about the slow-budget style travel at least for the first few years. Eventually we still might be settling in one of those two places, which is also why we are keeping informed on the non-lucrative visas etc. Thanks for the inspiration, we follow some other travelers but you have become our main channel.

I am planning a vacation to Italy and I am afraid about the pickpocketing that happens often in Italy. What advise do you have?. Last year I went to Mexico and all my belongings and passport were stolen. I arrived to USA with my purse only. I would like to travel, but I am afraid something horrible will happen. I got my emergency passport in Cancun, Mexico and it cost me money. I have my passport for 10 years now. It took me months to recuperate from this I was depressed. This is depressed story.

When you mentioned that you go home every 4 months or so, it made me realize that is basically what we would do (but stay home for another 8 months 😊). Good video Brian & Carrie, question on your country count, is 19 the number of countries you have visited since starting your travels, or your total all time count? Since starting our journey back in 2022 we have visited 19 different countries, our all time count is a bit larger.

I often travel as a solo female traveller who finds a lot of meaning in getting to know locals and other travellers as I go. However, I know I can be quite introverted so I usually stay in hostels to put myself in an environment where I almost have to talk to / get to know other people. As you usually stay in Airbnbs, how do you usually meet people along the way and make friends as you travel?

I was one of your first subscribers when you were in Alicante over two years ago, and you have certainly grown since then! Congratulations on your success. I don't know if you have ever mentioned whether you kept a home in Washington that you return to twice a year? Or did you sell everything to make your world travel possible at such a young age?

I love any kind of info about the nitty gritty of doing this so thanks for sharing so generously!
I was wondering two things. First, were you both big travelers before you quit your jobs.
And second, how did you figure out your budget? Did you start with your savings and see how much spending that could support? Or did you start with a monthly or yearly number and see if your savings could support that?

    • @BrianandCarrie
      @BrianandCarrie  7 місяців тому +1

Hi again, Laura! We were not big travelers before we started this journey. We had been to a couple of places for the typical 2-week vacation. We had been to Mexico, Hawaii, Portugal, and a couple of cruises but nothing like this.
You figured out our budget based on our savings, future pension, and future 401k with the hope that we could supplement some of the cost with UA-cam. We didn't ask a financial adviser if this was a good idea because we knew what the answer would be! 😃 Life is short and we have zero regrets!

Love your videos. You guys have gotten better and better. Do you ever use Ryanair ? We found incredible flight rates when we were in Germany visiting our family. Also, do you use a VPN to change your location when buying flights ? I've heard that makes a difference sometimes. And I've heard some people like Skyscanner. I haven't used it but might check it out sometime. You guys are awesome to watch and I love all the travel tips. We hope to do this in the next couple years.

The wife and I are loving your videos. We are well traveled but will be retiring in less than a year and are starting to plan. We will be keeping our home and traveling 6-7 months of the year. You guys appear to be laid back like us and open to sharing. Would love to hear more details about how you are funding this, investments, living on dividends, UA-cam, trust fund ;-) etc. I can do the math on your You Tube videos and with a video and photo background that is making me smile at the opportunities. Well done kids!

Sounds like you have a wonderful plan on place. Always nice if you have a funds to keep your home, so you do have a home base to return to. UA-cam can help finance, but has zero guarantees, so for us it was all planned on investments and our upcoming retirement. Thankfully we now have a little coming in to help out. Cheers!!
