That sure is a squishy dashboard. And im going to be doing this very job on a '17 Impreza soon, same dashboard. Swapping those tweeters in for Kicker KS 2.75" ones, which come with Subaru mounting plates out of the box.
Got a base 2021 crosstrek any idea how to install? seems to be a plug underneath the housing for the tweeter not sure if it’s for speakers tho. Got a harness and it’s not the right fit.
Great video heads up there's after market plugs that will adapt ur stock speakers to aftermarket ones. I found them on Amazon there called RED WOLF. Also when I did might I took the side piler cover off before I tackled the B! As$ speaker cover. Well good luck
Let me know if your rattle is from the speaker mounting screws. I have a nasty rattle from that general area on the passenger side dash speaker. Will attempt it this weekend to see if the screws worked themselves loose. Props to Katherine for attempting this and sharing.
Can you tell me what type of crossover and why you have used? I have seen some Crosstrek upgrades, but nobody used this, just replace the original dashboard speakers.
It's a tough spot to work in. I will solder and heat shrink when I dig into my dash. Those twist caps aren't good in something that bounces and moves. Just a thought. Who knows it may last you forever but in Detroit we have F'd up roads
Kicker makes plug and play tweeters. Going to upgrade mine soon on my new crosstrek

Your a rare breed of woman who just works on her car 👍👍👍 Outstanding
You're* 👍👍👍
did those wires stay in place ?
Does that speaker really just sit in there without being secured in? I’ve had a nasty dash rattle since new from that area. I wonder if this is it.

Hey could you tell me size infinity speaker that was and did it screw down without modification to the original mounting holes
should be 3.5 inches and variety of holes on the speaker mounts to screw right into the factory holes

they're just capacitors that come with the speakers when you buy them. It acts as a crossover by filter out they low ends.
So they came in the box it wasn't something u had to by separate? Thank u
